3 When you come out of the storm you won't be the same

Ye You Lin was a stunning woman, with long, flowing hair that reached down to her waist, and eyes that sparkled like diamonds.

Her skin was flawless, with a pale, porcelain complexion that seemed to glow in the light. She had high cheekbones and a defined jawline, and her smile was infectious, lighting up the room. But it is a shame that Li Gao Sheng doesn't fully appreciate Ye You Lin's beauty and charm.

As Ye You Lin entered the living room, she couldn't help but feel a pang of anger at the sight of Gu Xiaoxin sitting with her mother-in-law and friend.

She knew she should be civil, that she should try to bury the hatchet with Gu Xiaoxin, but the pain of her past was still too fresh.

She tried her best to keep a lid on her emotions, to smile and bear herself sitting with them.

It was her mother-in-law who started first, "You lin, have you had your breakfast?"

"No, I don't have the appetite yet." Ye you lin calmly respond to her.

Li gao sheng's mother said softly "The maid has prepared a bird's nest soup. You should try it and give some to your husband, too."

Ye you lin gaze fell on Gu Xiaoxin, and for just a moment, Gu xiaoxin kind smile faltered, becoming something ugly. But then, just as quickly, it returned to normal. Ye You Lin smirked inwardly.

"That's right, sister You Lin. I remember that Brother Gao Sheng loved nourishment soup. He would always ask me to bring him some when I was studying abroad, or he'll nag at me when I came back if I didn't." Gu Xiaoxin gave a small laugh as she proudly mentioned that she and Li Gao Sheng had been sweethearts before he got married to Ye You Lin.

In a way, she implied that Ye You Lin may have been the obstacle that prevented the couple from being together.

Li Gao Sheng's mother was visibly saddened after hearing Gu Xiaoxin's. Upon reflecting on the situation, she realized that she may have inadvertently played a part in preventing Gu Xiaoxin and Li Gao Sheng from becoming a couple.

She tried to comfort her by saying, "Don't say that Xiaoxin. I know it didn't work out the way we hoped, but you'll always be like a daughter to me."

Li Gao Sheng's mother looked at Gu Xiaoxin with warmth and tenderness in her eyes as she tried to console her by slowly hugging her.

It was clear that despite the situation, she still held a great deal of affection for Gu Xiaoxin and considered her to be almost like a daughter. She had known her since she was a young girl and had watched her grow up into the beautiful woman she was today.

She had always imagined her as the daughter-in-law of her family, but sadly, it was not meant to be.

Li Gao Sheng's mother's friends, who were present in the room, were also moved by the two ladies. Some of them were even seen to be wiping away tears after witnessing the heartfelt conversation.

They had always known how much Li Gao Sheng's mother cared for Gu Xiaoxin and how much she considered her to be like her own daughter. It was clear that they could all see the love and affection that the two ladies shared, and they were touched by their special bond.

While Gu Xiaoxin and Li Gao Sheng's mother were caught up in their emotional conversation, Ye You Lin seemed unbothered and distant.

She had been through similar situations before in her past life. In the past, Ye You Lin might have thrown a temper tantrum or displayed some kind of emotional outburst. However, she has grown and evolved as a person over the years, and now she simply sat there, smiling, as if nothing had happened.

She was no longer willing to let her emotions control her and instead, chose to handle the situation with grace and dignity.

A few minutes passed while everyone excitedly talked to each other, the maid placed two bowls of bird's nest soup in front of Ye You Lin. The soup looked incredibly healthy and hearty, with a rich, creamy texture and a warm whiff of broth wafting from the bowls.

"Then, Mother, I will go to my room now." Ye You Lin stood up, ready to leave the room with two steaming bowls of bird's nest soup in her hands.

As she walked past Gu Xiaoxin, she couldn't help but notice the woman's feet dangling from the chair. She knew that Gu xiaoxin planned to embarrass her in front of everyone, but instead of avoiding it, she pretended to stumble with Gu Xiaoxin's feet and fall, letting the soup spill over her arm.

"Aaahh !" Everyone in the room was taken aback by Ye you lin sudden cry and immediately rushed over to her.

"What happened? How did you fall suddenly?" Li gao sheng's mother exclaimed in concern.

As they took a closer look, they saw that her arm was red and swollen from the hot soup that spilled over it. Ye You Lin's eyes darted to Gu Xiaoxin with a mix of hurt and meaning, as if she was silently communicating with just one expression.

Her face was contorted by the sudden pain of the hot soup, and she winced as she looked down at her burning arm. Her face was a mask of pain, but she refused to let Gu Xiaoxin see any weakness.
