Who's your husband?

Gu Zichen was shocked on watching the woman who previously regarded him as a crazy man and loathed him was now clinging to him like she hates staying even an inch away from him.

She was ruthlessly playing with his heart and confusing his mind with her abrupt behavioral changes. One second she would act like she never wants to see him and the next second she would hug him like she couldn't live for a second without him.

He blinked his eyes a couple of times to confirm what he was seeing was real and his eyes were not playing tricks on him. He stared at the tiny woman who hugged his hand while speaking to someone else and then he noticed a strange woman greeting him.

Gu Zichen was confused about this strange woman but he was more confused about his wife's sudden affectionate behavior. He lowered his head to Wu Jinyan's ears and whispered "Wu Jinyan, what game are you playing now?"

Wu Jinyan was already feeling terrible with how Wu Meihua and Wu Hao were determined to interrogate about her private life and this man whom she thought came to her rescue was asking her stupid questions in such a critical situation, annoying her.

She didn't know what his darn brain was made of, for him to not understand that she was introducing him as her husband to the two devils standing before her.

"Hubby. What are you talking? What do you mean by me playing games?" Wu Jinyan pouted like she's mad and mumbled softly gritting her teeth. Her face was ripple free but internally she smacked herself for a thousand times. She wanted to rush into washroom and clean her mouth immediately for calling him sweetly as hubby. If not to satisfy Wu Hao's and Wu Meihua's curiosity in a smooth manner, she would never call him hubby, not when he was clearly playing with her emotions.

"Hubby?!" Gu Zichen was bewildered.

'So she's saying she recognized me as her husband?' He was perplexed to see his wife strangely recall his identity as her husband just in a single night. He's completely doubtful about her recent odd behavior and wondered if she was had gone crazy after staying in coma.

He gazed at Wu Jinyan's face. He clearly noticed how anxious she was feeling despite the calm face she's trying to present him. He then looked at the other two people in the room who had no similarities with Wu Jinyan to think they were her family members. He didn't know who these people were for Wu Jinyan to become nervous and worked up.

The elderly man, Wu Hao who stood rooted to the floor came back to his senses and walked towards Gu Zichen. Seeing the young couple acting lovey dovey, his face darkened.

"I thought she was lying before but it seems she wasn't. You are the one who married her? But who gave you the permission to marry her?" With his hands behind his back he spoke with giving off an authoritative aura. His face was red with anger and every word he said was filled with detest he had towards the young man.

Wu Hao always thought the girl he raised would get married into a rich family and bring him monetary benefits. But the young man she said she loved and married now looked no better than a pauper. 

If Gu Zichen knew what the old man was thinking, he would sure spew blood with anger but he couldn't blame anyone else for his present appearance. To meet Wu Jinyan as soon as possible, he became so agitated and he ran like a mad man. In the process his custom tailored clothes were crumpled, his hair ruffled into mess. Since he spent the past one week worrying about Wu Jinyan without sleeping properly, his face was ghostly pale and withered. His charming looks were the same but one could sense the fatigue he suffered. 

Wu Hao was a money minded person and he only looked for the prospects he wanted like wealth, status and power in the young man and didn't mind the physical beauty like the girls.

"Dad..." Wu Jinyan mumbled. The thing she wished least to happen, finally happened. This calculative person before her already started assessing her husband just by seeing his external appearance. She knew Gu Zichen became this haggard and tired because of her but she couldn't explain every single detail to Wu Hao.

"Enough. This bloke seemed fine to you than the man I showed you" Wu Hao felt like he was going insane seeing how Wu Jinyan disappointed him. If she wanted to get married, she should have atleast eyed on a man with good fortune and better background instead of a bastard who seemed to have no proper future in any of the aspects.

Hearing the old man's words, Gu Zichen laughed with self mockery as he realized why his wife was being so good to him suddenly. She needed a man by her side to avoid her father's kindness of setting her up with a stranger. Was this the real reason why she married him?

To her, he was just a tool to escape from the trouble taunting her at the moment while he almost thought she regained her memories and hugged him tight with true feelings.

"Whatever, But my husband's not shameless like you." Wu Jinyan retorted immediately clutching Gu Zichen's arm further firmly. She was already being lenient by not killing Wu Hao and Wu Meihua despite everything they did to her in the past. But once someone commented badly about her choices, she wouldn't stay calm. She didn't understand in what ways Gu Zichen appeared impoverished to Wu Hao. She easily noticed his branded watch, custom made suit and cufflinks studded with rare diamonds irrespective of his unkempt hair and pale face.

She then stared at Gu Zichen in fear he was angry with Wu Hao's remarks. 

'Husband? Now you see me as your husband?' Gu Zichen looked at Wu Jinyan and gave a dangerous smile. He was indeed angry not because of what Wu Hao said about him but due to what she was doing. 'Did she expect me to stay docile and obey her arrangements like a tamed cat?' 

Wu Jinyan stared deeply into Gu Zichen's eyes. She saw him smile and relaxed thinking he wasn't mad at all and hoped he would cooperate with her till the end of the act. She missed to notice the evilness his eyes held while he curled his lips up. Unaware what kind of problem was coming up her way, Wu Jinyan sighed in relief.

Within a fraction of second, Gu Zichen pushed Wu Jinyan away as though her touch disgusted him and spoke in a cold, dangerous tone "Miss Wu, Who's your husband?"

This time, it was Wu Jinyan's turn to stand rooted to the ground like she was struck by lightning.
