6 Marry me

Gu corporation, President's office

Since he was done with saving the beauty from the beast, Gu Zichen wanted to deal with some real important matters. While he was reading some documents, his assistant Chen Fei and little brother Gu Zihao stood before him to report about the results of their investigations.

In a tone full of caution, Chen Fei explained "President Gu, It's like this. Miss Zhao...she was heartbroken and..attempted suicide because you blatantly rejected her during your blind date. So.. Elder Zhao...he tried to attack you for his daughter's sake.."

Gu Zichen said nothing and gave a slight grunt of affirmation. His face was devoid of expressions and he seemed to be deep in thought but one could feel the cold air emitting from him.

Gu Zichen looked calm externally but in reality, his heart was burning in anger. He couldn't believe that someone dared to kill him because of a stupid woman who couldn't accept the reality and control her emotions.

The other two men in the room already sensed someone's death coming up. They both looked at each other for a second and paid condolences to Zhao family in advance.

Chen Fei continued "Also Miss Li is back in the country and she came to the company in the morning wanting to meet you"

Gu Zichen narrowed his eyes as he looked at Chen Fei. His voice was dangerously low and those few words he spoke were like needles pricking one's bones.

"You wanna die?"

Chen Fei shuddered and wiped the thin layer of sweat formed on his forehead. For a second, he forgot that his boss was no longer the same man from two years to care about the young miss of Li family, Li Xiaoyi.

"Sorry, Boss"

Gu Zichen simply tilted his head to glance at his little brother. On the other side, Gu Zihao shrugged with a confused expression. "What?!"

He was completely an unrelated person in both the matters. What could he say regarding his brother's complicated personal life? 

Gu Zichen sighed and asked "That woman from earlier...What's her name?"

Gu Zihao smiled brightly and clapped in excitement "Her name is Wu Jinyan. She's 23 years old. And the good thing out of all, she's..."

Gu Zihao continued until his brother lifted a hand to make him stop from blabbing too much. Gu Zichen simply raised a brow and asked nonchalantly "Married?"

"Ahh..?!!"

"Is she married?" 

Gu Zihao looked confused for a moment but still answered. "No..but she..."

"That's enough..now both of you can get out" Gu Zichen said and tossed both his assistant and brother out.

He wondered if the girl who saved him would still be amazed by his features after regaining her senses. He pondered for a while and decided to talk with her as soon as possible.

Wu Jinyan was deeply disappointed on feeling no pain or stinging sensation in any of her body parts. Moreover, she felt too peaceful, she suspected if she died pitifully without experiencing anything in flesh.

What kind of man leaves an enchanting beauty like her untouched?!

Uhhh!! She was infuriated.

She slowly opened her eyes and scanned her surroundings. The decorations were lavish and extravagant enough to blind her eyes but she understood she was merely in a grand palace like house.

She sat up to look at herself dressed in the same set of clothes as in the morning. She was depressed but also relieved that she successfully escaped from that Han something.

To divert her, a memory flashed in her mind. She realized it wasn't the time for her to cry over whether she got eaten or not.

"Gosh.. I'm done..Sister Li will kill me" 

It was not entirely her mistake, but she still missed the audition and she had to explain to her manager before it gets too late. After grabbing her belongings placed on the bedside table, she hurried out of the room to run down the stairs but on recognizing the man walking up, she froze.

He's...that guy from yesterday. Last night, she saw him lying unconscious with blood continuously streaming down his face. Now he seemed pretty normal like all others but with a simple bandage on his fore head.

Wu Jinyan sighed in relief. Her efforts paid off. Now he was perfectly fine and sound or else the poor world in which she was living would have missed this charming man.

It's just that she didn't expect him to get discharged from the hospital so soon. Her heart was still aching with the loss her body suffered yesterday but this man was moving around carelessly without taking rest. 

"Hey, Why did you get discharged so early? Why are you roaming recklessly? Do you even know how much I invested to save you?" Her face was full of disbelief and her words sounded as though she was severely hurt and disappointed.

As she stared at him for a second more, her brain pictured some random fragments of memories.

'Wait...Those eyes' Wu Jinyan's face instantly turned red as she recalled how she acted just like a dying desert animal searching for oasis. She must have looked just like a crazy woman.

She turned around to escape from him but she felt a hand on her wrist, stopping her movement.

Wu Jinyan looked at him with her face becoming redder and heart pounding. She couldn't take this anymore. But this man seemed to not let her go and she's already losing control under his intense gaze.

What's wrong with her? He was indeed gorgeous and sexy like a greek god but she shouldn't be acting this way just because he's good looking. She could only blame his magnetic field for being strong.

Gu Zichen was shocked. He never expected to see her blush just with a simple touch from him. Nevertheless, he was relieved that his face was attractive enough to grab her attention.

"I know that you saved my life and I also know that I should repay for your kindness"

"Alright..then what will I be receiving then?!" She simply went along, pulled her hand away and moved a step back to make sure she wouldn't be too close to him. She couldn't stay there for a second more and wanted to run as far as possible from him.

"ME" 

Wu Jinyan saw him pointing to himself and she gulped subconsciously staring at his face sculpted to perfection.

What nonsense was he saying? She thought she was hearing things. Her tiny heart was palpitating too furiously, she even heard the heavy drumming in her ears.

'Wu Jinyan...You perverted animal..what are you even thinking?' 

Looking at her red face, Gu Zichen chuckled leaning closer to her and whispered in his enchanting voice "I guess it sounded inappropriate...let me rephrase it.. I'm asking you.. to marry me"

Marry!!

"Don't joke, okay" Wu Jinyan pushed him right away and ran down the remaining stairs not giving him a second glance. 

This man really had some malfunctioning mind to think of such twisted methods to repay her. She wasn't in a situation to laugh at his stupid joke.

Gu Zichen raked through his brain to bring out the proper words that could convince her immediately "Don't you think you really need to have a man by your side to protect you after what happened to you in the morning?"
