1 Act 1

I am pretty sure that all of you would be confused upon reading this, but once again, this part is more like an extended prologue chapter rather than the first part, so yeah. :D

***

In a quiet and dimly lit alleyway, two dark figures faced one another, an ambiguous feeling between them.

"Senior Yue, I-I like you! W-will you go out with me?"

Holding a luxurious red bouquet in hand, an attractive young man confessed as he did a low bow, extending his arm for his goddess to accept.

Sadly, his gesture was not appreciated as the other party remained silent for awhile before revealing an insidious and playful smile, exhibiting her deep dimples amidst her porcelain skin.

"Speak. What do you like about me?"

The beautiful senior whom he confessed to asked as she folded her arms in a confident manner.

The junior blinked his wide eyes a few times before answering, "Because senior is so beautiful-"

"That's it?" Yue XiFeng interrupted as she raised an eyebrow before continuing,

"Don't you know of the hideous rumors about me?" She gently said as she proceeded to smack the bouquet from his hand, causing the young man's face to twist in surprise.

"If all you offer is empty sincerity, then don't blame me for being rude." She coldly exclaimed while still wearing that playful smirk of hers before turning back to walk away in a domineering manner.

Upon apprehending her words, the young man knelt in shame as he tightly clenched the scattered petals, regretting the fact that he was too impulsive.

Yue XiFeng saw the sorry figure behind her and felt slightly amused by it, perking her thin rosy lips upwards.

"Young man, love is blind but marriage is a real eye-opener. Trust me, you wouldn't be able to deal with me." She coolly said as she waved her arm.

The kneeling man emptily gazed on the back of the disappearing majestic figure with awe as it faded into the sunset.

Though he was rejected, he didn't feel like he'd completely lost.

Yue XiFeng sighed as she fumbled her raven-colored hair, 'another one...' sighing, she muttered under her breath.

She was getting tired of all these confessions that endlessly came her way. Numerous people confessed to her as she was the most popular student in her school, successfully earning the admiration and envy of many. Her perfectly sculpted jade-like face that was accompanied by a peerless body and mind that exuded a charismatic air was something Yue XiFeng inherited from her previous life.

Her appearance when she was an Empress, perfectly matches her current one, with nearly no difference aside from... her family background that immensely differed from her past life's.

She walked along the roadside to reach a cramped and shabby neighborhood, whose houses looked like they could fall apart in any second.

As she walked, she was abruptly greeted by a hoarse voice that resounded from the shadows behind her, causing her to stumble for a moment before recognizing to whom the voice belonged to.

"Did you get confessed to again?" The voice asked, his expression indecipherable due to the lack of lighting, but one could tell that the voice belonged to a man.

"...It's none of your business." Yue XiFeng arrogantly replied as she turned her head to face his figure, furrowing her brows while glaring at the dark and lean man that stood behind her.

"Didn't I tell you to stop following me?" She continued, crossing her arms while showing a smile filled with contempt.

The man clenched his fist as he gazed apologetically to the beautiful woman in front of him. Try to find the right words to say, he coughed a few times before replying.

"...I'm sorry I wasn't there when you needed-"

But before he got to finish his sentence, he was interrupted by a sneer that was soon replaced by a cold voice.

"You never were." Yue XiFeng said with a distant and harsh tone while her expression remained indifferent.

But she soon replaced her mask of indifference with a detached smile that failed to reach her enchanting eyes.

"In this life, let's not have anything to do with each other, exactly like what you wished."

With a steady tone, her gentle voice sharply pierced through the man's ears.

His expression twisted as he clenched his teeth, advancing a few steps closer to the alluring woman.

The woman swiftly took a few treads back as she smiled at the man whose appearance could now be seen.

The man's distinct features became more prominent as the dim light seemingly highlighted his handsome face. With sharp phoenix-like brows and enchanting golden eyes, he was what everyone would describe as highly attractive.

He lowered his head in guilt before looking at her with a wronged, puppy-like expression as he tried to find the proper words to say.

'I'm sorry?' No, that's too late.

'I loved you?' Too unconvincing considering how I acted back then.

Thoughts like these filled his mind as he squinted his eyes, still trying to figure out what to convey.

But when he finally decided and looked up, the elegant figure of the beautiful woman could no longer be seen.

Upon the realization, he turned to punch the wall near him as he leaned towards it, covering his golden eyes with his palm.

'Damn it! Why was I such an idiot!' The handsome man cursed with a disheveled appearance before gazing into the distance with an empty expression filled with regret.

"If only I knew how to properly love you, " He murmured. Though his tone was soft, it carried a heavy expression.
