27 Wu Yanchen - A Scaredy Cat

Wu Yanchen took deep breaths and started to speak "Hi. I'm Wu Yanchen. Sorry for being late. I had some urgent work. Let's go now." He signalled the driver to start the car. The driver took Wu Yanchen's luggage and kept it in the car's trunk and then went and sat in the driver's seat.

Meanwhile, Xu Zhuya was still looking at the man who was struggling to breath due to excess running. She was staring continuously until a hand was waved at her.

Wu Yanchen was waving a hand at her. He was telling her to sit so that they can start driving, but she was lost in her own dream world.

When she saw some thing shake in front of her, she came back to the original world and blinked for a several times then looked at Wu Yanchen questioningly.

Upon seeing her questionable gaze Wu Yanchen replied "Let's go. The driver is already waiting." Xu Zhuya looked here and there then came to realization and saw that the car door was open, so she immediately went and sat inside. Just as she was about to close the door, she saw some long slender legs step inside the car. She stopped what she was doing and looked at Wu Yanchen while arching a brow towards him.

Wu Yanchen also looked back at her with the same look and nonchalantly said "There is stuff kept in the front passenger seat. So I have no choice but to sit over here at the back." To be honest, Wu Yanchen had deliberately kept few of his stuffs over at the front seat. Why? Even Wu Yanchen didn't know the answer to it.

Xu Zhuya kept the door open and shifted inside towards the other corner of the car keeping a wide space in between them two. Wu Yanchen sat inside the car and closed the door with a small thud and instructed the driver to start the car.

After a few minutes, Xu Zhuya remembered something. She immediately took out her phone and dialed a number. Thankfully she had charged her phone at the airport while waiting for her luggage to arrive.

After reaching to Country Z, Yan Rong had told her to call but due to these circumstances she wasn't able to call. Not she wasn't, it was she forgot that's it.

After dialing the number, she placed the phone near to her ear and started to listen to the bell. She was wholly praying that Yan Rong should pick up and should not be angry regarding this, but the opposite had happened. An angry voice sounded from the other side of the phone "Hey you! Dumbhead! You can't even take one minute to call your best friend, huh? You will call this late? I reminded you so many times right? Is this how you treat our friendship?"

Due to the increase in the voice Xu Zhuya kept on distancing the phone away from her ear. Just as Yan Rong had stopped talking she started to speak "I'm sorry, dumbhead. I really forgot. I really met some weird person on the way and it took time for me to search for the car. I know you miss me that's why you act like that. Even I miss you. Don't ever say stuffs like that okay?" Xu Zhuya was so busy in talking with Yan Rong that she didn't realize that the weird person was just seated beside her.

Xu Zhuya was able to hear Yan Rong cry that's why she said all those stuffs. Even though she said to make her calm she had meant it from the bottom of her heart. She cut the call and within a while her expression turned sad and gloomy.

Wu Yanchen didn't hear Xu Zhuya badmouthing him otherwise he would have said something. As soon as he opened his phone, he was distracted by the number of missed calls from an unknown number.

It was not just one missed call but 15 total missed calls from that same number. Seeing that a call had been made from his phone before to that unknown number, he remembered that he had given the phone for the woman beside him to talk. As he turned to look at the woman, he saw her gloomy expression. He didn't know what had happened so he kept quiet, but the missed calls were irritating him so, he finally got the courage to poke her.

He poked her shoulder once.

Poke.

(No Response)

(No Response)

He did it twice but he didn't get any response. He thought of quitting, but then he thought that maybe he should give one more try. After all people do give a response in the third try. So he poked her for the third time.

Poke.

And this time the response which had come was very fierce. His talk was true that people do response during the third time, but this response was way too different from the response which he had imagined. He had imagined that Xu Zhuya would slowly look up at him and ask what's the matter.

But then it turned out to be wrong. After getting poked for a third time, Xu Zhuya screamed at Wu Yanchen "Whaaaaat?" She had screamed like a lion roaring. Trust me I'm sure that after hearing her scream the driver, he was already scared only but Wu Yanchen... Wu Yanchen too was scared, not scared I would say he got goosebumps and jumped up due to her sudden scream.

Wu Yanchen had become a scaredy cat.
