1 Roxanne Denver

"My name is Roxanne Denver. People often called me Roxie for short. I am twenty four years old. I am an only child of my late parents which means that I was spoilt rotten. I cared less about everything. I was a carefree young girl. I was brought up by my late Nanny after my parents death. I had a happy childhood.

Let's not reminisce about my past life. I would gradually unravel all of it as time progesses.

But, in this dark loop called life, a glimmer of light had finally shone from a small hole. This light has the ability to turn things around for me. Five years ago, I was welcomed into a new phase of my life. The phase of motherhood. Oh yes! I have a son! The most adorable son one could ever imagine to have. He is a replica of his father... A forbidden word for me. His fifth birthday would be coming up this summer. He was born on the 24th day of August.

Did I forget to mention his name? His name is Draco. Draco Denver. He took after my last name, as far as I am concerned, he does not have a father!

I am his father, I am his mother, I am his grandmother, I am his grandfather, I am his uncle, I am his aunt, in fact, I am his only Kin."

Roxie paused as she didn't know how to proceed with the next line. She was learning the art of writing an she decided to try writing her own story. The story of her life. Just then she remembered that she still had to get Draco from school. She quietly closed her laptop and picked up her purse. She made sure she locked the door to the house and left in a haste.

She boarded a taxi and it stopped her directly in front of Draco's school. She went directly to Draco's class. The mysterious young boy was sitting all alone at the back of the classroom, while other children were out playing while waiting for their parents.

The young boy was focused on solving a math problem from his textbook and so he didn't notice a lean but elegant figure leaning on the door of the class watching him.

He only looked up when he heard the only voice that made him happy in the whole world. The only voice that consoled him when he cried. The only voice that coaxed him to sleep. The only voice that comforted him whenever he had a nightmare. The only voice he was in love with.

"Hey Zeus." Roxie called out to her son after watching him for a very long time.

"Mother!" He quickly responded and hastily packed up his books in his backpack. He ran straight to his mom's embrace after that.

"I'm sorry for being late baby, mommy was trying out this new skill of hers." Roxie said.

"You are writing again mom?" The little boy asked with his brows arched.

"I hope you changed the intro....the last one made me sleep as I tried reading it." He added again.

His squeezed cute face made Roxie laugh out loud.

They passed by Draco's homeroom teachers table where she signed out. She finally held Draco's tiny but strong hands and they both marched out of the school premises.

The both of them were a sight to behold. The little one kept on rambling while the bigger one laughed at every nonsense the former said. One would take the sight of the both of them as the perfect relationship between a mother and a son. And, it certainly was!

The older one flagged down a taxi and they both disappeared into the car.

_

They entered their home and Roxanne went to the fridge to bring out the food she had prepared earlier. Yes, she was a wonderful cook. In fact she had submitted a few applications at various big organizations. She wanted to be a renowned chef. She learned both continental and inter-continental dishes. She had a big dream but she still had a son to take care of. Right now, she only wanted an organization where she would cook and earn enough for both herself and her son.

She brought out the rolls of sushi she made in the morning and another tray of chicken pies. These were Draco's favorite. She threw them into the microwave and soon it was warmed up. She went to the dining and placed it on the table.

A neat looking Draco soon entered the dining room. He was now in his home wear. Roxie gazed at her son, who took his seat and started munching down his food. He was just too gorgeous to be ignored. She fell into a trance like she had done the first she met his father.

Although they had both met in an awkward situation but it was worth the memory. As at that time, her parents were already dead and she was staying with her uncle at the province. Her relations hadn't treated her well but she still enjoyed her stay with them. She was someone who understood the importance of family. Therefore, no matter how bad her relations treated her, she always saw the bright side of it. Although she was chased out of the family when she got pregnant. She still didn't take their actions to heart. After all, it was invariably her fault. She was deceived, fooled and used. The part that pained her the most was that she was too naive to believe that he had actually loved her.

She wrote him love letters but he never replied. The only thing she was happy about was that he gave her a gift no one could ever offer to her, A son!

She was still in her trance when she heard her sons voice.

"Mother stop looking at me like that. I don't want to choke on my food." Draco said.

Roxie, having been caught, smiled sheepishly and went straight to her bedroom.
