11 Chapter 11 The Invasion Part II

(At Stark Tower)**

Dr. Selvig is still working on the portal and doing his last minute calculations. And Seth was waiting invisible in the sky watching to see if everything about the invasion would stay the same and looking at Selvig he thought that he probably should've kept the scepter to try to undo Selvig's brainwashing The only reason Seth took the Scepter on the Helicarrier in the first place, was because the movie didn't show everything that happened on the Helicarrier, so he didn't know if Loki used the Scepter to kill anyone else before he left on the Quinjet.

(Helicarrier, in the vehicle hangar)**

Bruce was still missing after he fell and thankfully no one knew who the other monster fighting The Hulk was, though Fury had his suspicions. Everyone was preparing to leave when Apex called the Avengers for a meeting.

Cap was a little impatient and said "Galen we don't have time for this the portal..."

"I know I have some gifts I made for you guys to help with both saving civilians and taking out the invaders."

Apex then called Cap over and handed him what looked like a small white metal disk and said to put it on the top of his glove and he did and in an instant the disk covered his glove in a white gauntlet and Apex said "This is a version of the nanites along with some hard light hologram technology I'd been working with, go ahead and squeeze your fist." Cap squeezed his fist and in an instance a hard light hologram of his shield appeared on his arm, it was much like his son's shield in the movie Avengers Heroes Of Tomorrow. It was the same size and shape of his other one and allowed it to be thrown as well. Apex explained the features of the shield.

"It's no replacement for the original but I noticed how you continuously lose your shield so now at least you have a spare it won't be as strong as the original but it will get the job done. It also has the capability to regenerate after being destroyed, which gives you a virtually unlimited supply of Shields and if you want you can control the density of the hard light hologram and control the movement of the shield after it's been thrown."

Cap was shocked at the capabilities it had and thanked Apex many times while Tony was astonished at the innovative technology.

"That's amazingly intuitive we gotta talk shop later. By the way did you get me any cool toys?"

"I got everyone something"

Apex then called Nat and Barton over and said "I noticed you both struggle with mobility and would definitely benefit from some more versatility." He then looked at Barton.

"But first, I don't believe we've met I'm Apex but you can call me Galen Marek or just Galen."

"Clint, or Barton is fine. Now, I'm curious to see what you got us."

"Right well, I found that in order to help you both with mobility I made these." he handed similar looking disks to Nat and Barton except they were black and said "Put those on the right side of your boots." They did and black colored nanites different from the white ones on Cap covered their boots and Apex explained their uses as well.

"To help with mobility I incorporated my Hover and MagTech into those nanites, just click your boots together and they'll activate also they allow for you to hover anywhere over any surface by utilizing the MagTech to stick to each surface."

"Also Barton i have something else for you."

Clint smiled smugly at the others mostly Tony as he is getting something extra.

"So i noticed your limited number of arrows so i have two things to help with that."

Apex handed Clint two disks, one was neon blue in color while the other was black.

"These two are a nanoparticle housing and hard light hologram generator. If you place the black housing on your quiver and the blue disk on your shooting hand you will generate hard light holograms of arrows when you reach to your quiver and the nanites will cover them and give them the properties of a set number of your trick arrows that you simply have to say the name of the arrow type for them to be generated."

This time every Avenger present had their jaw dropped in shock, but Tony was the most shocked. Eventually they overcame the initial shock and thought about how helpful it would be in combat then Apex handed them two more disks to all but Tony and explained what they did.

"This disk goes on the left side of your boots and uses nanite powered rockets to allow for rudimentary flight. It's nothing like actual flight, more like a boosted jump, but there is no way to control the direction so you will only be able to use it to stop your fall or to do jumps equivalent to about a 5 story building. The other disk goes on your chest and once you see the effect I'll tell you how it works."

Tony was the most shocked again and said "I can't believe it. You invented a rudimentary version of my repulsor technology to incorporate into your nanotech. I'm sure with some tweaks we can include my repulsor tech into them and allow for actual flight."

Apex nodded. "Yes, but that is something to discuss at a later date."

Then Nat and Clint put the black disks on their chest and a black nanite covering that looked just like their original suits appeared on their body. They noticed it had a metallic sheen to it and asked why.

Apex said nonchalantly "Oh, that's a proto-adamantium composition I created based on Cap's shield."

Tony's face froze and asked with an incredulous look "Wait are you telling me that your nanites can analyze materials and copy their chemical make-ups of it to make a nanite version?!?!?"

"Not exactly these nanites are different than all the other ones I showed before, these ones have some Biochemical components that linked with my blood which include my own ability to do exactly that. These are still prototypes right now though."

Tony had a look of understanding and amazement and said "Right, I forgot you have that ability. But to be able to combine Biochemistry and Nanotechnology is unprecedented. In this day and age this could change the world. just think of the Medical advances, you could use the nanites to copy and analyze cancer cells and find a cure to cancer or at least a way to stop the replication of the cells"

" Exactly, which is why for now we need to keep it a secret, at least for now. It especially needs to be kept secret from SHIELD. I will not have my Tech used for war. This is a special case, so can I count on your discretion?"

All the Avengers nodded and then Apex called Tony over who walked over with an almost childlike glee in his eyes, which showed how excited he was to get his gift. Especially after seeing the other gifts he could barely contain himself. Apex then brought out a red and gold disk matching his armor and said

"Unfortunately Tony, there wasn't much you actually needed that your armor couldn't provide, and I didn't have enough time to go more in-depth so at least for now I will give you a suit like Nat and Clint to go underneath your armor. It will look like regular clothing which can throw off your opponent but has the strength of Cap's shield along with a hard light hologram generator to create hard light decoys of your Iron Man Suit to both distract and help in dealing with a tough opponent."

Tony was slightly disappointed but he understood that there were time constraints and he didn't really have much he was lacking and Apex just covered all those things and then some so he was still really happy.

Thor was behind everyone and didn't understand much of what Apex said but he was curious as to what Apex could make that he himself lacked. Apex called Thor over.

"What you are thinking is correct there isn't much I can do to help you, as it is really hard to injure you severely so all I made was this."

Apex then brought out a piece of metal that looked like a mini Mjolnir and gave it to Thor.

Thor looked at it and asked "So what does this Trinket Do?"

"I'm glad you asked. This trinket as you call it, is a mini lightning generator. It works sort of like a lightning rod so you don't have to summon the lightning manually. It is linked to your fingerprint so as long as you need lightning and you are unable to get it from the sky then this can do it for you it was made to handle immense amounts of energy so you don't have to worry about damaging it. it will go on to cover Mjolnir like an armor and all you have to do to activate it is say the word "Light" and it will start to bring down all the lightning you'd need."

"Hahahaha, very useful trinket indeed I thank you for your gift my friend. Now let's go get Loki."

(In New York. Tony's perspective) ******

{Jarvis: Sir, I've turned off the arc reactor but the device is already self-sustaining.}

"Shut it down Dr. Selvig."

"It's too late. She can't stop now. She wants to show us something! A new universe."

"Okay."

Tony shot a repulsor blast at the device but a force field covered it and shot a blast back at him and destroyed parts of his armor. As even Seth can't create anything currently to withstand the power of an infinity stone like the tesseract

{Jarvis: The barrier is pure energy, it's unbreachable.}

{"Yeah I got that. Plan B."}

Tony looked down and saw Loki on the balcony and he flew down and started to walk while his suit was being taken off just like in the movie. He gets inside and Loki looks over.

"Please tell me you are going to appeal to my humanity."

"Actually, I'm planning to threaten you."

"You should've left your armor on for that."

"Yeah, well it's seen a bit of mileage, and you've got the glow stick of destiny. Would you like a drink?"

Loki smiled. "Stalling me won't change anything."

"No, no, Threatening. No drink? you sure? I'm having one."

Loki had a look of minor annoyance and turned and walked towards the window and said "The Chitauri are coming, nothing will change that. What have I to fear?"

"The Avengers." Loki had a look of confusion then Tony continued and said "That's what we call ourselves, we're sort of like a team. Earth's Mightiest Heroes type thing."

"Yes, I've met them."

"it takes us a while to get any traction I'll give you that, but let's do a head count, here. Your brother, the demigod." At the mention of his brother Loki had a little groan and looked away. Tony took this chance to out on his bracelets connected to the Mark 7 prototype armor. He continued "A super soldier, a living legend who kind of lives up to the legend. a man with breathtaking anger management issues, a couple master assassins, and a super genius metahuman who already kicked your ass once."

Loki had a look of annoyance at the reminder that he had to let that human win their fight.

Tony just looked at him and continued. "And you big fella managed to piss off every one of them."

Loki was happy with Tony's reaction and said smiling. "That was the plan."

"Not a great plan. When they come, and they will. They'll come for you."

"I have an army."

"We have a Hulk."

Loki, knowing that Bruce left the Helicarrier said "I thought the beast had wandered off."

"You're missing the point, there is no throne. There is no version of this where you come out on top. Maybe your army comes, and maybe it's too much for us but it's all on you. Because if we can't protect the earth you can be damn sure we'll avenge it."

Loki looked annoyed so he went over and tried to make Tony into one of his brainwashed lackeys. "How will they have time to fight me, when they will be busy fighting you?"

"Huh, this usually works"

It didn't work. Tony smiled "Performance issues, it's not uncommon, one out of five...."

Loki got mad and grabbed Tony by the throat and said "You will all fall before me." and threw him out the window while Tony already had the Mark 7 deployed and it smacked Loki from behind and attached to Tony who flew back up and looked at Loki in his armor.

"And There's one other person you pissed off, his name was Phil." and then he blasted Loki with a repulsor blast and right after saw the portal open up above and said "Right, army." Tony flew up and started attacking the Chitauri coming out of the portal.\

(General Perspective)

Apex who actually got to New York before Tony to make some extra preparations for the Chitauri's arrival and wanted to watch the awesome scene of Tony and Loki and watched as Tony flew up and attacked all the Chitauri coming out of the portal. Apex flew after Tony and was attacking the Chitauri that were missed by Tony.

At this point he was using his Human Torch ability. He was shooting one fireball after another but the fireballs were super condensed and when they hit the Chitauri it turned them to ash including the vehicles so there was no collateral damage from the debris.

He programmed Cortana to help with the earlier preparations he made. He used Stark's arc reactor ["Sorry Tony but this is important and I haven't found a suitable replacement energy source yet."] To power a bunch of hard light hologram generators with each generator having the holograms equipped with the now named NanoShields to help protect the civilians from both melee attacks as well as energy attacks from above. He placed the generators all over the city and the hard light holograms will look like NYPD cops who civilians would trust and they helped get the civilians off the streets.

The NanoShields worked wonders on saving civilians from aerial energy attacks and the hardlight Holos would thrown the NanoShields at the aerial units as well. Apex had his own NanoShields built in to his most upgraded armor so it helped immensely if he needed a quick way to block attacks against civilians that his Holos missed.

(Back At Stark Tower) *****

Thor just landed on the balcony and looked at Loki standing in a regal pose as if saying that he is above all others who stand below him. Thor then said to him "Loki, turn off the tesseract or I'll destroy it!"

"You can't, there is no stopping it. There is only... The war."

"So be it." Thor and Loki then began their fight same as in the movie but this time there was a twist with Apex's nanite generator Thor was able to bombard Loki with lightning strikes and Loki. After fending off the fifth volley of strikes Loki said to Thor "Where are you getting your lightning!?!?!" Thor just smiled

"A friend."

(Somewhere In The City) ******

Apex kept to the skies making Tony's job easier and he decided that aside from the first leviathan he would take all of them down because he can turn them to ash and stop buildings from being destroyed as well.

Apex flew near Tony saved him from a stray energy attack and said "Hey, thought you could use some help."

Tony looked over confused at the flaming man till he recognized the voice and said "Apex, is that you?"

"That's right it's my flame form. I have set a bunch of hard light hologram generators throughout the city it should help with the evacuation and keep collateral damage to a minimum."

"That's amazing, good job. I'll take care of things here and through the city best I can. Head to the portal and take out as many as you can. Keep them from hitting the streets."

"Got it, if any of them get through I'll let you know. Here."

Apex tossed an earpiece to Tony, he caught it then it started to move until it hit his helmet and merged with the tech and gave the frequency to Jarvis to send out to the rest of the Avengers. " This'll help us stay in contact and is immune to any kind of interference."

"Perfect, I'll have Jarvis send the frequency to the others." at this point the frequency was sent out and we got a response from the Avengers in the Quinjet.

{Stark we're on your three headed North East.}

They had just arrived since the jet was slower than both Tony and Apex.

Tony, using the new frequency, and keeping his joking attitude, said

{What? you stop for drive-through?}
