10 Chapter 10 The Invasion Part I

Natasha had her conversation with Loki and found he planned to release The Hulk and take out anyone who could possibly stop him. he may be arrogant but he wasn't taking any chances when he doesn't know the full capabilities of The Avengers especially Apex since he isn't even from the MCU and had never been heard of before.

Meanwhile Tony and Bruce are working to find the tesseract and figuring out what Fury was hiding from them. While this was happening I finally get to have a real conversation with Thor without all the fighting he asked me about my abilities and since he was one of my favorite Marvel characters I decided to tell him the truth. I did it for two reasons number one, he is actually trustworthy as he isn't corrupted by human greed and number two, he has almost no idea about how human society works so he won't be able to put two and two together from the things I will tell him.

"My real name is Seth Jamison McCauley I used an alias to make sure that my friends were safe and that I could actually live a normal life outside of being a superhero. In regards to my abilities I interned for a group of people and while we were in space trying to understand DNA, myself as well as four others were hit by a cosmic storm that gave me the ability to absorb energy."

"I am able to absorb and synthesize the mass, properties, and chemical makeup of matter to change my body into living matter in the shape of myself this is the reason I looked the way I did when we met I was in the form of metal."

Thor was actually surprised about my abilities since he had heard rumors of an ancient race that had such an ability but he was very understanding and told of his love Jane Foster.

It was after this conversation that we heard arguing between Tony and Steve, myself and Thor walked in Bruce's lab and I felt the subtle effects of the scepter trying to influence me but because I was already aware of its's effects I was able to snap out of it almost instantly when I heard Fury say

"Agent Romanoff can you please escort Dr Banner to..."

Bruce interrupted and said "Where? you rented my room."

"The cell was just in case...."

"In case you needed to kill me but you can't, I know, I tried... I got low. I didn't see an end. So, I put a bullet in my mouth, and the other guy spit it out. So I moved on, I focused on helping other people I was good. Until you dragged me back into this freak show and put everyone here at risk, you wanna know my secret Agent Romanoff? you wanna know how I stay calm?"

I saw that he picked up the scepter and Fury and Nat had put there hands on their sidearm Cap then said "Dr.Banner, put down the scepter."

I walked over and grabbed the scepter and made sure to keep it on hand Fury gave me a look and all I said was

"We need to lock this up if Loki escapes he can get it back." and handed it to Fury.

Fury nodded as he thought that Apex was going to affected by the scepter as well.

"You have a point, Romanoff lock it in storage."

Then there was the explosion from when Barton took out one of the engines which caused the Scepter to fall from Fury's hands. I made sure to grab and used my powers and my nanites from my suit to put the Scepter in my suit away from prying eyes and made sure to hide the energy signal coming off the Scepter to ensure Loki couldn't sense it i am not going to let him use it until he is about to leave.

I made sure that it was me who was near Bruce before the explosion because I know he will change into The Hulk and I can definitely subdue him.

The second the explosion went off myself and Bruce fall I don't even take any damage from the fall and I see Bruce starting to change and I found to my astonishment that I could feel his power the same as when I get ready to copy a power and I realized i was transforming myself. I couldn't stop myself as i had never prepared myself to use his ability.

I found myself overcome by anger and rage and it was difficult at first but I have full control of my brain so i was able to remain semi-cognizant. I looked at Bruce still changing and I was changing as well and I grew to 9-10 feet tall but I was lean rather than bulky which i believe was my Adaptive Physiology at work, and covered in my vibranium/Uru/Proto-Adamantium composite. This would allow me to go toe to toe with the hulk and take almost no damage. Bruce finished his transformation and then The Hulk turned and looked at me with an angry expression and he charged at me.

I launched an uppercut in his giant head and sent him flying through the wall to the hangar where the vehicles were kept as we were exchanging blows I realized that while I wasn't taking any damage, the ship was and I had to get The Hulk clear of civilians so I let him lunge at me while I was on the floor and kicked him through the roof to Research Level 4 I saw Thor had joined me, he didn't know what either of us were so he attacked myself and Bruce

I punched Hulk in the face repeatedly to knock him out and I just kept saying "Go to sleep, go to sleep, go to sleep" but it only succeeded in making him angrier so I had one last option.

I used my bio-electricity and put my hands on Hulk's head and shocked his brain just enough to make him pause and Thor slammed Mjolnir at both mine and Hulk's chest. The blow actually launched both of us off the Helicarrier.

(Meanwhile in the control room)******

Fury, Maria Hill, and Nat, now that she didn't have to deal with The Hulk, were taking out Loki's brainwashed lackeys that were dressed in shield gear. They then saw the arrow shot from a hidden spot in the rafters which worked like it was a virus that hacked and took out another engine resulting in a now downhill descent of the Helicarrier. Along with the falling of the Helicarrier Fury saw two large silhouettes that were roaring in rage as they were hitting each other and falling down from the carrier.

[**Damn it. Is there another one???**]

Fury then saw Barton's arrow and said "Agent Romanoff it's Barton he took out our systems and is heading for the detention level take care of him"

"Copy, I'll head over now."

Nat found Barton and instantly attacked, she actually did better than in the movie because she wasn't injured by The Hulk and was able to knock him out relatively easily

{"Barton's down, taking him to the Med Bay."}

Thor watched The Hulk, and whatever that other beast was, falling out of the sky with slight interest, but decided to deal with them later. Thor then headed towards Loki

Apex wanted to be the one confronting Loki mostly because he won't have to worry about the cell since He can break it easily and won't be affected by the fall and move around a bunch like Thor since he can fly unassisted unlike Thor who needs Mjolnir. Unfortunately, the unexpected situation threw a wrench in those plans. Thor walked in and saw Loki escaping from the cell and ran to tackle him and he ran through the clone into the cell and Loki smugly responded

"Hmph, are you ever not going to fall for that?"

Thor slammed Mjolnir on the glass and it started to unlatch. "Hehehe. Humans think us immortal, shall we test that."

Then Coulson came in and said his lines and got stabbed but instead of being stabbed by the scepter, Loki had conjured a shortsword.

"NOOOO!!" Thor screamed as he saw it.

All Thor's thoughts happened right in that moment before Loki pressed the button on the console and he had a new reason to stop Loki indefinitely. Then he was dropped.

Apex had launched Hulk down to Earth and had gotten control of his free fall, deactivated The Hulk's power, and was floating while using Johnny's power since he had better control over it than Johnny. He made a decision to deal with the fallout of him losing control over his emotions later, but for now at least, it's hero time.

He had no time to try to find a way to hide the use of The Human Torch's power from SHIELD So he flew back towards the Helicarrier using Johnny's power in an attempt to stop Cap from getting knocked down. Apex stopped the agents by shooting out a torrent of fire to distract them, then slamming into the possessed agents. With this Tony was able to safely escape from the Helicarrier turbine and wasn't damaged.

Cap looked at Seth in shock [What the hell kind of power was that?!?!]

After the situation aboard the Helicarrier was resolved, the Avengers (except for Thor and Bruce) met on the bridge and talked about what was next for them. Fury, after finding out how Apex subdued the agents from the report from Steve decided to put a lot more importance on him but also wondered to himself if he was that powerful then why wasn't he able to stop Loki easier in Germany and why rely on gadgets.

Fury didn't believe that Apex was able to be defeated by Loki, he knew he was too strong for that. So despite him being suspicious of Apex, he decided he would cross that bridge when they came to it. For now they needed Apex on their side so he'd deal with him later.

(30 minutes ago Outside on the roof of the Helicarrier)

Loki was furious that he couldn't find the Scepter and worried about what "His" reaction would be if he found out. Loki was almost 100% sure that the one man he fought with in Germany had something to do with it but he was inconsequential in Loki's eyes.

Loki elected to deal with finding the Scepter later, but just as he was flying off in the Quinjet, he saw on another level by one of the turbines was the scepter. Seth had left that little present for him as they needed to ensure he would rely on it as it is easier to handle the closing of the portal if it is near Loki during the invasion.

(Back inside the Helicarrier on the bridge)

Fury had gathered the Avengers and started to give his speech that he gave to help motivate them to act like a team.

"These were in Coulson's jacket, guess he never did get you to sign them."

["I will say that was an ingenious plan on Fury's part to put Coulson's blood on the cards and bring it up to cement the truth in their minds that Coulson was really gone. He really is the ultimate spy."]

"There was an idea, Stark knows this, It was called the Avengers Initiative. The idea was to bring together a group of remarkable people, to see if they could become something more. To see if they could work together when we needed them to, to fight the battles that we never could. Phil Coulson died still believing in that idea. In heroes."

(In the Med Bay)

Barton is finally conscious and is trying to get control over his mind again while Natasha watches him to make sure he gets back to his old self. He finally came to his senses and looks around and sees Nat standing near him.

Barton asked why Natasha was doing so much because she isn't a soldier she's a spy, and it seems she found this as a way to atone for some of the things she did in her past. Barton understood and looked at Nat with a slight smirk.

"Well, if I put an arrow through Loki's eye socket I'd sleep better I suppose." So Hawkeye is now officially part of the Avengers and the original members (plus the MC) are all ready.

(Back in the room where Hulk's cell was)

After his speech everyone went their separate ways on the ship and Apex decided to head towards Tony he walked in right in the middle of Tony and Cap talking to hear Cap say

"Is this the first time you've lost a soldier..."

"We are not soldiers... I'm not marching to Fury's Fife."

"Neither am I. He's got the same blood on his hands that Loki does. but we gotta put that behind us, and get this done."

[Hehe. Time to win an Oscar]

Apex decided to interject, he put on a face of deep remorse about Coulson whereas he didn't actually feel all that bad as he knew he would come back and he honestly didn't know the guy.

"If we're going after Loki I want in. I wasn't there when he got Coulson, I could've stopped him, I should've...."

Apex took a deep breath and sighed "Loki needs to pay for what he's done. Are you guys with me?"

It was then that Apex saw the gears turning in Tony's head as Tony looked at the blood stain of Coulson and then looked at Cap and Apex.

"He made it personal."

Cap looked back "That's not the point..."

"That is the point. That is Loki's point. He hit us all right where we live. why?"

"To tear us apart"

"He knows he has to take us out to win right? that's what he wants. He wants to beat us, he wants to be seen doing it.... He wants an audience. "

"Like his act in Stuttgart."

"That was just previews, this is opening night. Loki is a full-tilt diva, he wants flowers, he wants parades, he wants a monument built to the skies with his name plastered.... Son of bitch"

Although Apex already knew, he made it seem like he just caught on to Tony's thinking and said

"Stark Tower, Loki's at Stark Tower."

"Bingo."
