60 Isaiah's Home

That seemed to be it. From this point on, this man whose name I barely remembered, was the one that owned me. I didn't want to be a slave. I didn't want to get used to another house. I didn't want to be here at all. But he didn't know that, now, did he?

"Come now, Addie, let's get you back to my place. Ah, and let's put this back on you for now. We really do need to mask that human scent of yours." Isaiah picked up the cloak and brought it back over to me. "Here you are, Addie." He was being very polite with me and I didn't understand the reason why.

"U..uhm, M..M..Mr. Isaiah, S..S..Sir, why did you save me? Why did you buy me from Boberre?" My voice trembled as I asked him that question, and I blushed under the hood of the cloak that I was once again wearing.

"Aren't you happy to be free of him? I thought you wanted to escape from him."

"I did." I assured him, worrying that he was going to give me back to him or something.
