Camp

You can practically see the smoke coming out of Nita's ears. "God, don't get me started. Remember when she said that she was taking a breath? Well, she didn't come back until the crisis was over with you and Nick. I spoke to her about that and she apologized profusely but didn't give me a reason for her leaving"

"Wow, it's just weird that she would leave Nick during a life-threatening crisis, don't you think?"

"It is very strange to me. She's a doctor after all and above all she's Nick's girlfriend"

You start to think of where she could have gone in this very important time. So much so that she couldn't just be by his side while he was fighting for his life. You think about the way she treats her patients and most of the time she's very caring and looks well after them but what could've possibly been so important that would take her away from Nick?

NICK'S POINT OF VIEW

He walks to the Admiral's tent with his arm over John's shoulder step by step, slowly. He doesn't like to show any weakness and walking through the camp to the Admiral's tent is very uncomfortable and embarrassing for him. Everyone is looking at him as they've never seen the great Nick injured in any way. He tries to walk as normal as possible but he can't help wincing ever so often.

He knows this is very important to talk to the Admiral and that's the only reason he doesn't care to walk through the camp embarrassing himself. He tries to focus on where he needs to go and ignores the looks he gets.

"It's okay, sir"

"What do you mean, Sergeant?"

He acts as if he's got no idea what John is talking about but he knows what he means.

"I mean, the people are just worried about you, sir"

"I'm okay, Sergeant, thank you"

But he's not okay and he wishes he can just bury he head in the sand somewhere. He musters on to the Admiral's tent. They get to the tent and he takes his arm of John and stands up straight saluting the Admiral.

"God no, Master Chief, please have a seat. What are you doing here?"

Nick moves to the chair they brought to him. He feels the intense pain shooting through his leg for walking so far but he doesn't show his pain to anyone.

"Sir, Admiral, I needed to talk to you about what my team saw regarding our attacker on the beach"

"But, Nick, you know I would've come to you?"

"Sir, we need to talk urgently, it couldn't wait, sir"

"Okay, what is it you need to talk to me about?"

"The attacker was naturally here to survey our camp for-"

Suddenly he hears people screaming and gunshots being fired. He jumps up and the pain in his leg is unbearable but he doesn't even notice. John throws him a gun or two and Nick moves quickly to the opening of the tent.

"Sir, Admiral! Hide, they'll come looking for you and we need you to be safe"

"Okay, Nick! Be safe!"

"Yes, sir!"

Nick immediately turns into the soldier he was trained to be and John is right behind him. He looks out of the tent and he sees a few men of the drug cartel raiding the camp. There's no time to waste as the men are busy shooting people and killing innocent people like the staff that's only here to help the soldiers. Nick gets eyes on the rest of his team and he gives them a few hand signs. They immediately know what to do.

"Are you sure you can do this, Sir?"

Nick can see the concern on his face but he doesn't have time to worry about himself. He needs to protect the camp and he can't fail at this.

"Yes, Sergeant! Now, let get these sons of bitches"

Nick nods at the rest of the team and they start to move in and start to take them out one by one. Nick gets into position behind on the men and he swiftly and easily cracks his neck, letting his lifeless body lay on the ground. He then moves on to the next one but he first needed to duck for a punch that came his way. He feels the sting in his leg but his will to protect to camp overwhelms the pain in his leg.

He then eagerly returns the punch and quickly maneuver the man into his death grip, ending his life instantly. Another man attacks him from the back and punches a deep blow into his ribs but Nick returns the favor and then shoots him to the ground. He then looks around him and sees someone being pinned down by one of the men, he's just about to deliver his death blow when Nick shoots him and he falls to the ground, lifeless.

Then he runs low to another holding someone by the neck. Nick almost stops dead in his tracks when he sees who's in the grip. It is, Helena.

"NICK!!"

Helena manages to get out a squeak and calls for him. Nick looks at her and sees blood flowing from her side. The man must've cut her in her side.

"Hold on, baby!"

Nick shouts it loudly with purpose wanting to look into the man's eyes that hurt Helena. The man looks bewildered at Nick and then Nick points and shoots him in the middle of his forehead, dropping him instantly. He runs over to Helena and holds her in his arms.

"Are you okay, baby?"

"I'm hurt, Nick, I'm hurt…"

"I know, what can I do?"

"You need to put pressure on my woun-"

Her eyes turn around in her head and then her eyes close.

"Fuck! Helena!"

He finds a cloth and puts pressure on her wound. He then drags her to a safe spot inside a tent. He quickly tries to secure the cloth against her side. He hears the screams outside and the shooting. He knows he can't be here with her, he needs to be outside.

"You're going to be okay baby, you're going to be okay…I'll be back soon"

He knows she can't hear him but he needs to say it to her away. He needs her to know. He softly lay her head down and then quickly makes his way back to the fight. He stands still for a moment feeling the pain in his leg and then runs to the next man, cracking his neck.

Nick makes his way through the men attacking the camp and he sees as the soldiers work together to get these attackers out of the camp. Then a painful thought creeps into his mind.

(Where's Kim?)

He quickly works his way to the hospital tent. No attackers seem to be at the hospital. Nick stealthily makes his way into the tent. Every bed is empty as someone must've evacuated them for protection. Then he hears a smoldering sound coming from behind the curtains. He moves the curtains back slowly.

(Fuck! Kim!)
