Perverts and Ghouls

The sound of a gentle knock soon echoed through the quiet room.

Sara took in a deep breath, and impatiently wiped the tears from her eyes as she focused on the vague outline of a door in the corner of the room.

"Miss Sara? Can I come in?"

The feminine voice was unfamiliar to her, and Sara's eyebrows furrowed as she tried to match it to any of the people she had met these past two days.

In fact, now that Sara was pulled out of her grief, she was suddenly questioning where she was exactly.

Was she still in the Club?

"... Sure. Come in."

The door opened and spilled in a blinding light from the hallway. Sara squinted as she adjusted to the sudden intrusion to her darkened room, and the first thing that she registered, was the color red.

The Smiling Demon was standing in her doorway, but her demeanor was so incredibly different, that Sara had a difficult time connecting the person standing in front of her to the same person who had attacked her in the fighting ring.

She was wearing a similar but clean black sports bra and a pair of long shorts, though now she no longer had those wrappings covering up her cream colored skin. She looked comfortable and casual, though she hesitated in the doorway with an awkward smile as she gestured vaguely behind her, "-Windy, told me your real name."

"Uhuh…"

The Smiling Demon looked incredibly young as she grinned at Sara and rubbed at her neck, her freckles made her look especially innocent and adorable. She looked like someone who couldn't hurt a fly…

As long as you ignored the incredibly eye catching abs that were being flaunted to the world, along with the sculpted arms that Sara knew from personal experience packed one hell of a punch.

The Smiling Demon shifted awkwardly on her feet, and tried to fill the silence with her nervous chatter, "Since it's your first time and all, you probably don't know how the clean up works. Usually when a fight ends, if someone isn't dead, then they just get hooked up to a machine and sent on their merry way in a few minutes- but when we do die, the Club has several rooms like this where our minds recover and we come back to life. Kind of like a sci-fi version of Frankenstein I guess…"

The Smiling Demon began cracking her knuckles, and her brown eyes sparkled with something that reminded Sara of insanity, "The first time always takes the longest, but after awhile your body will adjust. After all, we're already dead! Not like we're going anywhere else, am I right?"

Sara let out a tired sigh, feeling mentally and physically drained as she reached up to rub at her aching eyes, "Why are you here, Demon?"

The Smiling Demon's smile took on a distinctive seductive curve, and her eyes became hazy and half-lidded as she absently licked her lips, "I was actually hoping for a re-match~"

Sara let out a huff, her smile sarcastic and slightly bitter, "Well then, I'm sorry to disappoint you. I'm not really in the mood for fighting anymore."

The Smiling Demon let out an understanding hum that almost sounded like an absent moan, and Sara began to eye her guest warily as the woman began to steadily creep closer to her.

"... What are you doing?"

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING!"

The Smiling Demon jumped, and both of she and Sara turned to stare at the furious woman that had suddenly entered the doorway. The Smiling Demon let out a puppy like whimper as she cowered back and blinked her big brown eyes at the advancing woman.

"I wasn't doing anything-"

"LIAR!"

The black-haired woman had a sharp jaw and piercing red eyes that made her look like a ghoul out of a horror novel, and she stomped foreword with the grace of a female warrior as she forcefully turned the Smiling Demon around, grabbed her head, and then forced her to bow foreword.

She then turned to Sara, and also lowered herself into a respectful bow, "I'm sorry for my friend's rude behavior- she means no harm, she really just can't help herself-"

"Oi! Stop acting like I'm a pervert-!"

"You ARE a pervert- but that's besides the point. Apologize for your harassment of Miss Sara! Please- you already have two strikes-"

"I DIDN'T HARASS HER!" The Smiling Demon forcefully pushed away the ghoul woman's hands, and straightened her back as she glared at the woman like a pitiful puppy being denied its dinner, "Not yet at least…"

Sara raised a single eyebrow when she heard that mumbled confession, and she could feel the edges of her lips pulling up into an amused smile as she watched the two people in front of her hiss at each other like two alley cats defending their territory.

"APOLOGIZE!"

"I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING WRONG!"

How amusing.

"Excuse me, but shouldn't I be the one who decides whether or not an apology is necessary?"

The ghoul-like woman turned to look at her with an unreadable look in her eyes. Her face had yet to change from its deadpan expression, no matter how passionately she argued. It was incredibly unnerving.

But the woman was polite, and gave Sara a respectful nod, before taking a step away from the pouting Demon, "Of course, you are right."

The Smiling Demon stuck out her tongue childishly, before turning to Sara with a cheeky smile and a cheesy wink, "This killjoy here, is known as Bloody Mary. Her real name also happens to be Mary, so it's easy to remember! She's a big fan of horror movies, if you couldn't already tell."

"AMY-!"

The Smiling Demon held up a cutesy peace sign, "Also, my real name's Amy~ Nice to meet'cha!"

The smile on Sara's lips grew bigger as she held back a chuckle, "Nice to meet you as well."

Amy let out a happy squeal, her eyes shining like a happy puppy who was just praised. She really was an adorable woman, which made her pervertedness all the more terrifying.

Mary immediately noticed the shine in her eyes, and quickly stepped closer to Sara, her hands held at the ready, just in case, "Don't even THINK about it Amy."

Amy let out a whine, her pout quickly returning, "I wasn't going to DO anything!"

"You were about to jump on Miss Sara."

"..."

"Weren't you?"

The Smiling Demon bit her lip and scuffed her toe against the flood like a scolded child, before looking back up at Sara with a terrifying look in her eyes. Like Sara was a buffet and she was a starving beggar, "I can't help it- you know that!"

Amy let out a desperate moan as her hands came up to cup her cheeks, and she once again licked her lips as her mouth began to water and her eyes glazed over, "Her fists were Delicious~"

Sara noticed that a sad frown had formed on Mary's lips, before it quickly disappeared and was once again replaced with her deadpan expression.

"I apologize Miss Sara, but… she really can't help herself."

Sara gave both Mary and Amy an understanding smile, "It's okay."

And it really was.

Because of Amy's ridiculous and adorkable behavior, Sara was able to smile- and Mary scolding her like a mother with real concern hidden in those odd eyes of hers, made Sara feel warmth in her fake heart.

Because of these two ridiculous people, Sara was able to forget, at least for the moment, that her heart was a shredded broken little thing.

And for that, Sara was incredibly grateful.
