10 CH10: FIRST FIGHT
Max and Rin were still discussing their plans for their gang when they heard a loud knock at the front door of the warehouse. Rin told Max to hide because she had a clue about who might be at the door. When she opened it, there were two teenage boys that looked to be high school seniors.
" Hey hey, Rin. What's a pretty girl like you doing in a place like this all by yourself?" The first one asked. He was blonde with curly hair, blue eyes, and a sturdy body. His accomplice had brown short hair and a slightly smaller body."
" What is it, Paul? What do you want?" Rin asked, clearly frustrated by these guys.
" Oh c'mon now. That's not how to treat a guest." Rin got bored and wanted to close the door but the second boy put his foot through and said loudly, " We just wanna have some fun, Rin."
Rin rushed quickly and used all her strength to try and close the door but the two boys were too strong for her to close the door shut. The blonde grabbed Rin by the hands and pinned her on the wall while the second one slowly moved his fingers across her jawline.
" Don't you wanna become a woman, Rin? Let us help."
" Oh no, you don't." Rin kicked the brown-haired boy in his mangoes, causing him to fall on his knees and howl in pain. With his cracking voice, he sounded like a weak werewolf sadly howling. The blonde slapped Rin on her face and started removing her jacket. Rin tried to struggle her way out of his grip but the blonde was too strong.
" I'm gonna make you pay bi...."
" HEY," Max said loudly to the two boys. " Leave her alone."
" Hahahahaha." The two boys laughed at Max's courageous effort and the fact that he thought he could take on two boys bigger than him.
" What are you gonna do about it tiny? You can't touch us." The blonde teased. He signaled his friend to handle Max while he proceeded to do the unthinkable to Rin.
Max screamed and threw out a punch at the brown-haired boy, landing it on his stomach. To the senior, it felt like a girl was patting his stomach.
" Hahahaha. You call that a punch?"
" No, but this is."
[Firearms activated]
Max used his other hand that was coated with fire and gave the senior an uppercut, leaving him unconscious with a burn mark on his jaw. The blonde saw his friend being knocked out by a freshman and he was very upset. The weird thing was at the angle he was in, he didn't see what Max did to hurt his friend.
" Why you little..." The blonde let go of Rin and ran toward Max with a fist ready to his head. Rin ran after him and elbowed him in the back, making him lose his balance and fall head first to Max's feet. For some reason, he felt intense heat coming off of Max and when he lifted his head to see Max's face, he saw his eyes staring at him with a red, fiery glow that was brighter since the warehouse wasn't well lit.
" What the...." Max punched the blonde on the head with his fire fist, not allowing him to utter any arrogant word.
" How...how did you do that. Why didn't you use this new energy on CJ earlier?" Rin asked, clearly shocked at the small boy's sudden burst of strength.
" There's a lot you don't know about me," Max replied.

Earlier when Max was hiding as Rin told him to, he got the signature *ding* and opened it. It read:
[ A soon-to-be member of your young gang is being attacked. Select a skill and save the emo damsel in distress. Reward: Instant level up and bonus stats with every level up.]
Max selected the fire first because he wasn't so sure of the pyrokinesis skill and he definitely knew the firewalk would be the worst choice. He selected fire fist, did his thing, and saved Rin from god knows what.

Max looked at his stats and decided where he could place them. Since the system said he could increase his stats physically, he didn't worry too much since leveling up was not going to be easy anymore after what just happened. In the end, Max put two stats in strength and one stat in agility.

" Not bad, redhead," Rin said. " You'll definitely make a good leader. I just hope you'll be strong enough to take Pharaoh down."
" Me too." Max and Rin dragged the two boy's bodies far away from them and dumped them in the junkyard. Max didn't notice it but his punch might have done more than simply knock them out because the burn marks seemed to be worsening. " Strange!! They should have started healing by now." Max said by the time he and Rin got rid of them. Seeing that it was far beyond his curfew, and the gang members were more at night, Max decided to spend the night at Rin's place but the scars on the boys' faces were still on his mind. If only he knew what they were going to do to the boys
Somewhere in a dark alley just across Rin's warehouse, a silhouette stood there observing everything that happened, from the fight to getting rid of the bodies. "Hmm, so. Max Lin's the one with my system. Interesting. Let's see what he'll do with it."
