Chapter 1- High School

"Tay! Hurry up, or we're going to be late!" My mom shouted from downstairs.

"Agh, okay I'm coming!" I shouted back. I'm not a morning person and it usually takes me a few minutes to gather myself. I put my phone down and jumped out of bed. Grabbed a suitable outfit- which consisted of ripped jeans, a cute white shirt and my beaten up black converse.

I used my werewolf speed to quickly grab a towel from the cupboard in the hallway, and dash back into my en-suite bathroom. I jumped into my huge shower, turned it on and washed myself with my strawberry scented body wash. And washed my hair with my vanilla scented shampoo.

Getting out of the shower I quickly put my clothes on and applied minimal make-up. I left my brunette hair to drip dry because it would just return to it's natural wavy manner. Grabbing my school bag and laptop I ran downstairs in search of my mom.

"Mom!" I yelled from the living room, there was no answer. I walked into the kitchen and saw a pink post it note saying:

Taylor,

I left, you took way too long, and I was in a rush. I'm sorry but you are going to have to walk to school, there should be apples on the counter, or you can make toast, I'll see you when I get home.

-Mom

'Oh my god,' I thought, 'I can't believe her!' I tore up the paper and grabbed an apple and started eating it.

I reached for my phone and shoved it in my pocket and slung my school bag over my shoulder. I plugged my headphones in my ears and started playing a random playlist on my phone.

I got to school just as the bell went off, and I sprinted to my locker, I was a super fast runner, not just because I'm a werewolf but because my family has special, should I say 'powers' but I haven't gotten mine yet I'm only 17 turning 18. Once I've hit full 'maturity' I'll get my 'powers' and my wolf will appear. Oh yeah and I'll meet my mate!!

I shoved my bag into my locker and grabbed my books for chemistry. "God I hate chemistry" I mumbled to myself. I arrived to class to have the door slammed in my face.

"Seriously!" I said out loud, a bit louder than I intended. The door swung open to show a grumpy looking Mr Hersh. "Why are you late Miss Andrews!" he said with little bits of spit flying off his mouth.

"I had to walk to school because my mother couldn't take me." I said in an annoyed tone.

"Well you will have a break detention!" he said as he turned around and walked back into the loud class. "Seriously, I was only like one minute late!" I half screamed.

"After school detention it is then!" he said back

My mouth made and "O" shape. "Are you being serious! I didn't do anything!" I said throwing my hands in the air.

"Talking back to the teacher is not nothing!" he said, "now take your seat, you have already wasted 15 minutes of my lesson!" He nearly yelled gesturing to an empty seat in the back of the class.

The rest of the day went by extremely slowly, I didn't go to the detention at lunch, I figured I'm going this afternoon no point of going at lunch and wasting my eating time. The bell finally rang for lunch, I made my way to our schools large cafeteria. In the room there were about 50 desks for people to eat at and 20 seats at each table.

I went to order my food, paid for my chicken burger and coke. I looked around and took notice of how there were a few werewolves in our school but most of them were human.

I found my group of friends, they were all from my pack so they are werewolves. Most of my friends are 18 so they have shifted and some have even found their mates like my best friend Nora, she found hers the day after her 18th birthday. 'Lucky bitch,' I thought.

When I made it to the table Nora jumped up and hugged me. She was extremely beautiful, with short pixy brown hair spiked all crazy on top of her head, I guess her hair was like her personality, she was crazy in the best way possible.

I hugged her back and giggled, "Hey Nora."

"Hey Tay, I heard Mr Hersh gave you a detention," she laughed, I just glared at her.

"It's not my fault, my mom left me to walk to school this morning. My house is like a 30 minute walk from the school! And I was grumpy this morning, so he picked on me at the worst time. I dont even deserve that detention, my mom does." I said raising my hands in a mock surrender.

"Sureeee," she said dragging out the E. "It's probably because you over slept like usual. If I were your mom I'd leave you too." She joked, winking at me before taking her seat next to Zack her mate.

I greeted everyone at the table and sat down next to Dave, one of the guys in our pack. He was cute, he had dark brown eyes, dirty blonde hair, and the cutest little dimples.

"Hey Dave," I said waggling my eyebrows and shoving him with my shoulder.

"Agg hey Taylor," he said with a smile tugging onto his lips. He never called me Tay. Don't ask me why, he said it's because everyone calls me that and he wanted to come up with something original. We all ate and chatted in our usual rowdy manour. After lunch I said my goodbyes to everyone and went to my locker to gather my books for my next class. Walking down the hallway I spotted my sister in the senior corridor. "Hey Amber," I greeted, walking towards her.

"Oh, hey Tay!" She had her hand over her heart, "You startled me!"

"Seriously," I gave her a weird look, "startled." I said while laughing.

"Shut up, I trying this whole 'sophisticated' thing to impress my alpha boyfriend." She was very proud that the alpha's son had taken an interest in her. I just rolled my eyes are her comment.

"Amber you shouldn't have to become 'sophisticated' for some guy you hardly know." I said shaking her shoulders.

"Oh but with Kyle it feels like I've known him for years, he's so dreamy. All the girls want him. But lucky old me, I won!" she said saying it like he was some trophy that she won. "You see it pays to actually go to the pack meetings." She scolded, I wasn't a fan of pack meetings. They were boring and always way too long. Amber on the other hand loved them, I think she just loved the attention. Especially because everyone thought of her as this 'strong female wolf, with her head screwed on right.'

My sister was also beautiful with her long wavy blonde hair, blue eyes and flawless pale white skin. She was any mans dream, so I completely understood why Kyle was interested in her. She had the body of those stick thin models you see walking on the runway in Paris, she recieved attention from everyone she met. Maybe she would be a good luna, even though they aren't mated.

"Well when are you going to offically introduce me to Mr soon-to-be-Alpha?" I asked rolling my eyes.

"I'm surprised you haven't met him before, he goes to this school and he's pretty popular. I'll invite him over for dinner this weekend and you can meet him" She said using hand gestures, I had seen Kye before. I just have never gotten the opportunity to meet him face-to-face.

"Hey don't blame me I don't really take notice of things I'm not interested in. And we are in one of the biggest, strongest packs in the world, so that makes him a busy man." I said, this conversation was getting old now. "I look forward to the introduction."

"You have a point, just don't get too jealous when you meet him." she said squeezing my shoulder as if I were going to be interested in Kyle. "I should get going, the bell's going to go off any second now- HEY KYLE!" She didn't finish her sentence before she ran off totally ignoring my existence. I just scoffed and walked the other way to get to class.
