Denial

"I'm sorry, mr and mrs Parker."

The second those words were uttered Peter's whole world seemed to stop, why? why him? everyone in his class had a quirk, hell even his parents had quirks.

He refused to believe it.

"Thank You for your time doc ." Said Ben Parker, an older gentleman, around his mid 50s. He may have been old, but still carried himself like a man in his mid 20s, as he got up from his chair and moved to the door.

"C'mon Peter, it's time to go." said May Parker, An older woman, in her mid 50s, same as her husband, yet she looked as radiant as ever.

Peter Parker, A young boy at the ripe age of 5, nodded numbly, his round oversized glasses falling onto the tip of his nose, as he got up and walked to the door with his aunt.

The drive back to their home was a quiet one, with Uncle Ben shooting worried glances from the rear view mirror at Peter, while the boy in question had his gaze towards the window, not focusing on anything particular.

A short while later, Ben had enough of the silence, and said "Y'know what makes me feel better when I'm sad Peter?"

Aunt May shot an alarmed gaze at Ben a and shook her head, signaling him to stop, but it was already too late.

"I listen to a little bit of Frank Sinatra." Said Ben as his hand moved to his phone to start playing one of his favorite songs.

The car ride was no longer silent, and the music is what broke Peter out of his stupor, well that and his Uncles horrible singing, his gaze was still pointed outside the window, but a small smile marred his small face
