The Vision

Drowning in confusion, Leo struggled with his body. It wasn't long before he realized that he could look around. Leo tried to turn around, but discovered that he couldn't move from that particular spot.

Whatever that was binding him to the spot was definitely otherworldly. It came with a suffocating feeling which worsened the more he struggled. With no other choice, Leo was about to give up when an explosion rocked the heavens.

Kaboom!

"FINALLY STEPPING INTO THE LIGHT? COME! THE HEAVENS WELCOME YOU ALL!"

A majestic voice exploded from above, sending chills down Leo's spine.

The heavens trembled as war drums shook the clouds violently leaving Leo dazed as he finally mustered enough courage to glance above him, only to be greeted with the terrifying sight of glorious golden soldiers descending on their flaming chariot. Their number was in the millions and even then more kept pouring out uncontrollably from beyond the skies.

Ba-Dump!

Suddenly a majestic aura swept through the heavenly forces as a mighty being large enough to cover the entire heavens emerged from thin air. He was dressed in majestic golden armor and his body exuded immense divine lights making it impossible for Leo to make much out of this figure.

Rumble!

Rumble!

Rumble!

As the supreme deity above stood gallantly, his mighty hand shot through the wind racing in Leo's direction, making his heart skip a beat. In the presence of this 'simple' palm, it felt like the world would shatter under its weight.

Faced with such a sight, Leo was tongue-tied and petrified to the spot. For a moment he thought he was the target of this mighty army, but then what happened next proved him wrong.

Buzzzzz!

Unlike the entrance of these heavenly beings, the world turned silent as the temperature all over plummeted drastically. The world beneath was suddenly consumed by darkness as the stench of blood roiled into the sky. The earth trembled as a lone figure emerged from the darkness. He was a man the size of a mountain and his figure was completely hidden within his black knight's armor.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! TO THINK THE HEAVENS DARED TO SHOW THEIR FACE TO ME! TONIGHT WE FEAST!"

A cruel voice rang from below from the humongous figure.

"What the hell!" Leo trembled as creatures of various kinds and shapes sprang out of the darkness, racing toward the heavens.

This is no joke!

The heavens and the demons are at war, and I'm at the center of it all!

That was the only thought that could make its way into Leo's mind during all the chaos.

In response to the descending palm, the black knight threw a punch toward the heavens.

Boom!

Fierce explosions rocked the heavens, sending shockwaves and ripples across the sky.

Gah!

Leo let out a painful scream as his figure was flung away in the chaos like a rag doll. The reckless spinning in midair made him feel nauseated.

Bang!

The two armies clashed, but the supreme leaders of both sides were yet to join the fray. They peered at each other with contempt visible in their eyes.

The supreme deity was the first to make a move. His hand reached out to the heavens, tearing the void and penetrating it almost effortlessly.

Rumble!

The world trembled violently as a golden spear was pulled from the void and the supreme deity jumped off the clouds.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

The crazed laughter of the dark knight echoed across the heavens as he threw his hands open as if he was welcoming the supreme deity.

"COME LET ME SHOW YOU THE STRENGTH OF THE DEMON LORD!"

The breathtaking sight was the last thing Leo saw before he was expelled from the world and thrown back into darkness.

Aaaah!

Leo yelped in pain as his body twitched, and he twisted desperately with reddened eyes.

The pain began in his chest in the form of a burning sensation. With there as the base, the pain reached out to the other corners of his body, leaving him trembling in agony.

It was so excruciating that Leo couldn't even scream or cry. Even his movement was limited by the pain. Leo just remained rooted in that position, vibrating like a certain object. His eyes reddened as warm tears ran down his cheeks; fear visible in them.

Leo felt like he was suffocating, but he couldn't die at the same time. It was a feeling that made Leo wish for death. As someone who has always been sensitive about his death, he always hoped it would be a painless one, yet this happened. The only thing he was worried about in his entire life is the one thing he couldn't avoid.

'Just let me die' Leo pleaded with tears filling his eyes.

Huff!

Suddenly all the pressure left his body, pouring out like a water geyser. The sense of all his burdens flushing away gripped him and gave Leo a strange feeling he has never experienced before.

Strength!

Ding!

A loud smartphone notification sound rang causing Leo to look around and slowly reach for his phone. Pulling out his phone, he turned it on with the intention of seeing a message, but there was none.

[Evolution process successful]

[Impurities expelled]

[Host is now suitable to acquire the power of the demon lord.]

[Congratulations on becoming chosen for the Sin of Lust inheritance]

[You have been chosen for a greater purpose]

[... Do not disappoint…]

Leo groaned in pain while rubbing his temple gently. He gazed at the images right before him intently and even though they weren't written in English he seemed to be able to read them perfectly well.

Leo's eyes narrowed as he pondered on everything that happened so far in silence. He wasn't sure if everything that happened right now was real or just a bad dream.

Knock!

Knock!

Loud knocks could be heard on his door, pulling his mind back to reality. Only now did he remember he was still lying on the floor right in front of the door.

"Shit!" Leo was dazed as he hurriedly rose to his feet only to trip, forcing him to grab onto the doorknob for support.

Bam!

Leo felt his legs wobble and his hands felt numb. He could barely support himself even with the aid of the door knob.

"Hey, are you okay in there?"

A melodious voice rang from the other end of the door with a hint of concern in them.

'Maria?' Leo muttered in his mind with a look of shock in his eyes.

Never did he ever dream consider the possibility of his neighbor, coming over to his place.

Huff!

Leo exhaled heavily, regaining his balance and composure in a matter of seconds but just before he could open the door another message appeared within his vision.

Ding!
