1 Chapter 1: The accident

Hello My name is Zee. I am 18 years old I want to tell you how my life changed. Right now, I am sitting in a hospital bed getting a checkup. I can't remember much but I will tell you what I can remember. Ok without further ado lets go.

All I remember at the moment is that I was meeting with someone. I kept on hearing a conversation in my head. I was on my way home crossing the street when someone pushed me out of the way then before I passed out, I saw a car. I wish I knew what happened to that person who pushed me out of the way. Maybe someday I will figure out who it was and why I was there in the first place. It happened to be at night I remember. That is all I remember about that day I was also almost forgetting that I had siblings. Then when I got back to my apartment, I have had headaches as my memories were coming back to me. When I was in my accident, I had skinned my knees pretty bad and sprained my left hand and right ankle. I had a bump on the back of my head. I almost stayed at the hospital for a week. I had woken up the next morning which they were shocked. Not many people wake up that quick after an accident. Well it would have been a lot worse I could have even been dead if it wasn't for the person who pushed me out of the way. Ok I better stop now the doctor is coming in with my results.

"Ok Zee. Looks like your sprains are as good as healed. Your head looks fine. Your bump is finally gone. The only thing I can tell you is take it easy and don't force yourself to remember if you remember good if not lets just hope it comes. Get some sleep if you can." "Thanks doctor." My mother was with me at the time. "Ok Zee let's get you back home."

Almost 2 hours later my mother got me home and my neighbor was waiting for me. "Thanks mom. See you later." Then mom left and I turned to my neighbor. "Hey Christine. Doc said I was fine now to take it easy and get some rest. I should be able to cook for myself now and do my daily tasks. It would still be nice to see you once in awhile." "Oh of course. I have to check on you to make sure your not collapsed anywhere." "Hehe thanks." "I will ride the elevator with you to the top floor of the apt. Then I will head down a couple doors to mine." "thanks a lot for all you have done to help me. You're a good friend and neighbor." "Hehe thanks." I got inside then I remembered to ask her. "Hey Christine? Were you there when my accident happened?" "No but I did see you on the ground. I was the one who called 911." "Oh thanks for helping then too." After she left I closed the door and went to my room to rest.

I closed my eyes and heard that conversation again. Here is what I keep hearing. (Zee how can I do that? I don't…. have…. Where are you going?) That's where it ends. Ha. I hope I can find out who it is or what we were talking about. I hope I remember him when I see him.

I heard a knock on my door. (Knock Knock) I get up and say (Who is it?) "Its Christine's husband Randy!" I open the door and invite him in. "Hello Randy. Would you like to sit down?" "No thanks I was told to check on you on my way out. How you feeling? Christine told me what happened." "I'm fine. I just wish my memory about the incident was." 'I'm sure it will come back to you just take it easy, ok? If there is anything you need give me or Christine a call ok?" "Yeah thanks." He left and I sat on my couch. I decided to turn on my tv and chill. I also had my phone plugged in next to me.

I also forgot to mention that my mother and father came by and brought my sisters and brother with them. I also had another sister who lives somewhere else and a brother that died.

I closed my eyes and chilled then I got a phone call. "Hmm. Hello?" "Hello Zee? Is this you?" "Yeah, it's me who is this?" "Ah crap. Uh meet me across the street from the store at the table. Asap." "OK? But who are you?" "You will find out once you get there, ok?" "Ok." Once we hung up, I got up and stretched. I changed my clothes into something decent and curled my hair a little put on some natural makeup and headed out.

The table across from the store. Then I had a flashback of the incident. The flashback pushed me back and I landed on the bench. Then I realized this was close to where I had my accident. I held my head for a moment and saw someone at the table I am not sure if he saw me yet. My head still hurt from a flashback so I held it. After awhile I'm sure the man saw me because I looked up and he wasn't there. "Ah. My head hurts a lot." "Hey Zee. You, ok? I saw you at the store holding your head." "Yeah, I'm fine. Just a memory returning from the accident. I lost most of my memories of the accident. So, I'm sorry if I am supposed to know you but don't." "Why don't you look at me Zee. You might know who I am." I slowly looked up but before I was able to see his face my head hurt a little more. "Hmm." "Zee are you ok? No, my head its splitting." "Hey we are close friends I will take you to my place." I nodded. I didn't care where I went as long as this pain would go away.

He helped me into the car and drove me not far from here. "Here we are Zee hang on. Let's get you to my bed." "What? What are you talking about?" "Don't worry I won't do anything to you. Just rest I will be right back." He ran to go get some pain killers and some cold water. "I'm back Zee." By the time he got back she had calmed down quite a bit. "You ok now Zee? Here is some water. I have some pain killers as well." "Thanks." I wanted to look up at his face but I'm afraid I will have a headache again. I decided to take the chance. I slowly looked up and saw a handsome man. He had black short hair and green eyes. He was tall dark and looked athletic. Then I looked down again. "Do you remember me at all Zee?" "No sorry." "Its ok I will tell you. My name is Nova. We were childhood friends. Uh I was the one who pushed you out of the way of the car." "You were the one? Really?" "Yeah I'm glad to see you are ok physically. Now we just need to work on the mentally." "If you are who you say you are, were you the reason I was out in the first place at night?" "Yeah I wanted to make sure you crossed the street ok but I saw a car and pushed you out of the way." "What about you? How are you not hurt?" "The car wasn't going as fast I was lucky just to get a few cracked rips bruises and a lump on my head that's now gone." "That's good to know. I had gotten scrapped pretty good on my legs. Sprained my left wrist and right ankle. I hit my head and got a bump on it and blacked out. I woke up the next morning." "I also blacked out and ended in the hospital or I would have came by to see you." "Can we sit at the table again tomorrow and talk about what we were then so I can try to hear and see if it was your voice I remember. Not the whole thing just the parts where you said I can't do that I don't have. That is the only part of the conversation I remember other than where are you going." "Yeah we can do it tomorrow until then get some sleep. I have some pills here I brought some cold water to drink. I will be on the couch." "No please do me a favor? I know this may seem childish but you are the only one I have meet besides my family that helped me. Could you stay here till I fall asleep?" "haha Yeah sure. Just like old times. Want me to hold your hand too?" "NO just you being here is enough." "Ok I will sit here until you fall asleep. Mind if I rub your head?" "No go ahead." "OK." He rubbed her head and put his fingers through her hair until she fell asleep. Then he left the room and chilled on his couch.

'What am I doing? How am I supposed to help her if she doesn't even remember me? I am a stranger to her. I should call her mom to let her know she is over here.' He said to himself. "Hey Celia. Its Nova. Zee is at my place she had a horrible headache and we were supposed to meet in the same place then I saw her holding her head at the store I came by to check on her and she had a bad headache. Yeah she can stay here for the night I will bring her home tomorrow. We have things to catch up on." "Ok Nova take care of our Zee." "I will thanks Celia." 'Ill call my brother.' "Hey bro. Its Nova. I need you to come over here. When you do be quiet ok? You will know when you get here." "OK man see you there."

"Hey bro what's up?" "Hey man thanks for coming. Zee is asleep in my room right now. I don't know what to do she doesn't even remember me. We are supposed to go back to the place we talked to she can remember." "She's really here huh?" "Yeah, she wanted me to stay with her until she fell asleep also she allowed me to run my fingers through her hair." "Wow just like old times huh?" "Yeah its weird she doesn't know me but she allowed me too." "She may have some memory of you if she allowed it I'm sure. I'll stay here a night as well I'll go home after I see zee." "Thanks man you're a lifesaver." His brother called his girlfriend to let her know what was going on. "Ok be careful." "OK then I'll go on the other couch and lay down." "I'm going to check on Zee to make sure she is ok then I will head to the other couch and go to sleep." "Ok then goodnight." His brother said while yawning.

Nova went towards his room and cracked the door. He went in and felt her forehead to make sure she wasn't running a fever. "Good no fever." He said in a whisper. Then he walked out quietly and laid on his couch and went to sleep.

The next morning the boys were already up and Zee was just walking out of the room. "Where's your bathroom?" She said looking all haggard since she just woke up. "The next door down." Said Nova. She went inside the bathroom did her duty, cleaned and tidied herself up. "There that should do it I think." She was more awake than she was now and looked like she was ready to take on the day. She came out of the bathroom and headed to the living room.

"Hey Nova. Sorry I woke up late…." Before she could say anymore she saw his brother. "Hey Zee. How are you?" "You? I don't know who you are but I remember that I don't want to see your face right now. You pissed me off the day of the accident during the day." "Brother what the hell did you do to Zee that day? No wonder she wasn't happy to see me that day. She was still pissed off at you." "He won't need to tell you I can tell you myself. Even with memory loss. I kicked his ass. He was trying to hit on me. I told him know so I kicked him in the nards. Then in the stomach. Then I remember heading to a meeting with someone and when I got back, he was gone." "Brother don't tell me. Where you cheating on your girlfriend?" "Woah hey now. I was just joking around. I wasn't serious." "Oh really? Should we demonstrate what happened back then?" "OK sorry I won't joke like that again I promise." "Like you keep your promises at all Teo God. You are such an idiot!" "What? You remembered me? You just said my name." "Oh, I did, didn't I? I guess when we grew up we usually didn't get along so It brought your name back. Hey Nova maybe we should do some things to bring my memory back of you?" "That is the plan. Do you still want to go to the table we went to that night?" "Yeah, whenever you're ready." "Well, I'll be going back home. You two have fun with that." Said Teo. "Thanks, Teo for coming over." "Yeah, sure thing." So, after he left and headed home, we went out. I got into his car and we headed towards the store. "Do me a favor. Drop me at the store and wait for me. I have an Idea." "Ok then." They got to the store and he stopped for Zee to get out then she closed the door and went to the table across from the store.

'So I walked across the street during the daytime. It was still day that time. I got there ok but it was closer to nighttime. We can improvise.' I said to myself. I finally made it to the table and sat down in our seats that we must have back then. "OK Nova I am going to close my eyes and you are going to repeat the phrase I can't do that. I don't have. Make it like you skipping words then say where are you going?" "All right let me know when you're ready." I closed my eyes and said "Ready." He did as I told him to and my head hurt a little. I opened my eyes and had a headache. "Zee are you ok? Zee! Zee! Shit Zee!" "I-I'm ok I think. I remember that night now. I just don't remember our conversation, but I remember everything else. Although not much to remember other than you calling my name and someone pushing me out of the way. I'm just so glad your ok Nova. I remember you now. How could I have been so stupid in forgetting you?" I grabbed him and hugged him. He was shocked at first then he hugged me back. I cried in his arms for awhile until I calmed down.
