1 1.0 The Beginning of Blue

The alarm rings nonstop but every time it rings, Eloise will snooze it. Finally, she decided to wake up and get ready for her first day in university. She got dolled up as she was finally a freshman in university. She stood in front of the mirror and to do one final check on her outfit before she stepped out of the door. Eloise Washington, a girl whose beauty is able to turn heads and cause jaws to drop, is finally starting her life as a college student. What's more important is that she might finally be able to fall in love for the first time in her life. As soon as she stepped into the campus grounds, she was already the center of attention. Every guy would stare at her and be mesmerized while every girl showed their envy and jealousy. When she arrived at her faculty, she was immediately hugged from the back.

"Eloise ~ how are you?" asked Katherine who was hugging her with all her might. Meet Katherine Williams, the best friend of Eloise . Their relationship goes way back. They were friends ever since middle school and they even applied for the same faculty in the same university. I guess this just proves how strong of a friendship they have. "Katherine, glad to see you too. I'm fine, but if you don't let go, I might have difficulty to breathe," replied Eloise who can never dislike anything that Katherine does. "I can't believe we are finally college students! A new chapter begins!" said Katherine who was obviously very excited to attend university. "Don't go around falling for every boy you see. I don't want to listen to your fantasies every night," said Eloise , teasing Katherine . "I can't help it. I mean, it is not my fault that there are many handsome boys here. Plus, I want to have a campus couple experience," replied Katherine . "Just have some self restraint, alright?" advised Eloise who pinched Katherine 's cheeks.

During lunch, the cafeteria was rather crowded and the reason for that was because of Eloise . She was the center of attention and some students even took her photos in secret. "Eloise , you are creating quite a buzz," said Katherine who noticed how the other students were staring at them. "Just let them be. Ignorance is bliss," said Eloise who seemed to be used to the attention. The university page was already filled with countless photos of Eloise . They also revealed her personal information which must have been rather difficult to obtain without some serious stalking. During lecture, some students were still taking her photo in secret and shared them on the university page. Eloise just turned a blind eye since it was not harming her in any way. Soon, their day ended and it was time to head home.

"Finally, first day of college is over~," said Katherine who was extremely happy that lecture ended. At that moment, a guy approached Eloise who was packing her bags. "Excuse me, are you Eloise Washington?" asked the guy. "Yes, I am. And you are?" she replied. He was an extremely good looking guy who looks like he just came out of a comic book. Even Katherine was drooling over this hottie. "Nice to meet you. My name is Matt Kent. I am also a freshman. I saw you in class and I just want to say that you are very pretty," said Matt. With a smile, Eloise kindly replied "Thank you, Matt. You are good looking yourself." Upon hearing that, he smiled and brushed his hair with confidence. Then, he asked "Can I have your number then? We can be friends." To that, Eloise replied "We can be friends but maybe it is a little early to give you my number." Her response left everyone baffled since it sounded like a rejection to a confession. "It was nice to meet you, Matt. If you will excuse me, I have to get going," she said before she walked off with dignity. "She makes me want her more than before," said Matt as he saw her walk off.

Katherine chased after Eloise and asked "Eloise , are you crazy? Why did you turn him down?" as she was surprised such a good looking guy would be rejected. "There was no chemistry," replied Eloise nonchalantly. "Eloise Washington, this is not some fairy tale novel. Don't tell me you are still hoping to fall in love at first sight? You are not a kid anymore, Eloise . There is no such thing as falling in love at first sight or that so-called chemistry or spark," replied Katherine who was in disbelief upon hearing her reason. "Katherine , I know what you mean but I just didn't feel it. I don't want to date him just because he is good looking," justified Eloise . "Girl, you can be friends first, you know," said Katherine . "You and I both know his intention, so I don't want to waste his time nor mine," replied Eloise before she walked off. Katherine just stopped on the spot in disbelief and let out a loud sigh.

Eloise stopped by her neighbourhood mart to buy some groceries on her way home. The last item on her shopping list was barley tea which is her go-to drink. She saw there was only one last box on the shelf so she rushed over to get it. She grabbed it hastily so she dropped it by accident. The box fell in front of the feet of someone else. He picked it up. Instead of giving it to her, he walked off with it. Eloise was dumbfounded so she called him out. "Excuse me. I dropped that box. Can you give it back?" she asked. "I picked it up so it is mine," the man replied without even turning around or showing the slightest sign of remorse. This made Eloise angry so she grabbed the man's shoulder. "I already picked it up. It's just that I dropped it. So logically, it is mine," she explained as calmly as she could. The man gives a scoff before saying "Finders keepers." He walked off leaving Eloise frozen on the spot.

The next day, during lunch break, Eloise was still in a bad mood due to what happened the day before. Katherine knew she was angry so she tried to lighten up the mood. "Eloise , let's go to a karaoke after lecture. We can grab dinner at our favourite burger place too," suggested Katherine . "I am not in the mood for that," replied Eloise who was still unhappy. "You should forget about yesterday. It is unlikely you will meet him again anyway," said Katherine who was being realistic. "If I ever meet him again, I will grab him by the collar. That rude bastard," expressed Eloise who was still in rage. Katherine tried to calm her down by giving her a drink. They then heard sounds of girls screaming as if a celebrity had arrived. Everyone in the cafeteria turned their heads towards the direction of the sound. "It is as if a celebrity is here," said Eloise . "It must be a handsome guy. Eloise, I'll go take a peek," said Katherine who clearly abandoned her best friend just to check out guys.

Eloise was taking a stroll after being abandoned by Katherine . She somehow wandered to the music faculty and heard an alluring piano piece. She followed the direction of the sound and found herself staring at a male student playing the piano. She was totally captivated by his beautiful play. She accidentally kicked the door and the music stopped immediately. Eloise just squatted down thinking she can hide behind the door. Little did she know the door opened and she was exposed. However, when she looked at the student, her eyes widen in shock. It was the person she wanted to grab by the collar - the rude guy who stole her barley tea.

"You! The barley tea thief!" said Eloise as she pointed her finger at him. "Thief? I paid for it," he replied with a cocky tone. "Yah! What are you doing here?" she asked with her tone raised. "I should be asking you that. No outsiders allowed," he replied. She knew she was the one who trespassed but she didn't want to admit her mistake. "I asked a question first," she said, trying to dodge his question. "And I replied with a question," he answered. It was impossible for Eloise to get herself out of this mess. "I was just passing by," she replied as she avoided making eye contact. "Then explain to me why you were hiding behind the door," he said. Eloise knew it was a dead end for her so she just dashed off. The male student did not go after her but he picked up her student ID. "Eloise Washington…" he said with a smirk.
