1 The Lighthouse

I was staring at it, I could not understand and read well what I saw if it was a book, it is very old and the writing style is ancient. Its pages are relatively smooth and need to be opened more carefully. Often there are pages that have rotted and I can not see much of the writing mark because of the long time buried in the ground for many years and I am 21 years old but I still do not understand the subject of writing this book. Is this a diary? It looks like I'm already intrigued by it. What story does this have?

"Vladimir! Do not go deep lest you drown, you still do not know how to swim." Mama said with concern.

We are now in Puntagurda the name of the beach that many people and generations enjoy. It is located in the province of Balingasag. A place to have fun and spend important days soaking in the sea.

"Yes Ma !, brother CJ is with me!" I answered Mama and she replied with a smile.

It feels relaxing to feel the fresh sea air I breathe and touch my skin which causes my eyes to close as if forcing you to sleep. Eyes are shining because of the reflection of the blue sea and white sand at my feet that will make you want to paddle in the sea. This is what my family used to do, when on occasion they prepare food and hold it by bathing in the sea. Talisays and coconuts are the ones you usually see here in Puntagurda that's provides sun protection.

This is the happiest day for me because I graduated High Shool from Baliwagan National High School as an honor student whose dad's reward was to prepare a little party and gift for me. It was one of the most important days for me to be with the whole family.

"It's time for lunch, let's go Vladimir, get up in the water and we'll eat!" The older brother said while excited to eat and obviously hungry too. He immediately went out to paddle in the sea, not even waiting for my response. My older brother is also strict so you won't be surprised and he doesn't have a girlfriend yet. I look at them all in the small space of the hut and the table is full of assorted food. But I still enjoy paddling and swimming in the sea.

It's already noon so it's time for everyone to eat. In the distance I saw papa's prepared dishes with grilled Lapu-Lapu fish, of course everyone's favorite is Pansit, Lechon Baboy, Adobong Tiil ng manok, Kamoteng Kahoy, Saging Lakatan and the unforgettable Bagoong with vinegar, chili and many more ibam My favorite dish Friend Friend will not be lost at the party, it tastes delicious everytime I think of it, I request to papa to cook it.

Everyone was eating while I was still paddling in the water and watching the waves pounding on my body which relaxed me. One of the things I want to do is go to the beach to be alone or to think well and at least get rid of problems for a while. Until I felt the heat of the sun on my skin because I was naked on the upper part of my body, decided to go up and eat well.

I have been walking for a long time and I have seen an old light house, I hear from the elders that it has been standing for a century on the beach and is obvious in design and appearance. It has no color but it is nice to watch at sunset. It was far from the sea and could not be reached by the waves so it remained standing.

I dared to go to the light house just in case there was a toilet or place where I could reduce. When I got closer, I was even more amazed by how well it was built and tall. I like the subject of History so I am interested in things of the past. I also saw the door rusting so I decided to keep an eye out and unexpectedly the door opened when I pushed it. I had no other thought but my eagerness to see what was inside it. As I entered the narrow door, I immediately saw the staircase that led up to the top. I first stepped on the left foot on the staircase made of steel which also rusted for a long time. I climbed carefully and immediately felt the fear that I could not explain.

It was so quiet inside that all I could hear was the crackling of the wind on the trees and the pounding of the waves on the shore.

There are many things that bother my mind if I continue to climb there is the fear that I might fall because of the thin and rusty iron of the stairs. I still want to know what is above the lighthouse, it would be better to let go of my fear and continue climbing the stairs.

When I reached the top of the light house I was amazed at the view I saw of the sea and mountains that were even more beautiful with the setting sun.

"It's nice to watch here with your loved one," I just smiled at what I said.

As I stood there I saw old clothes, food waste, bottles, I also noticed a lot of dust and spiders which you can see inside. I realize that it has not been cleaned for a long time and there are people coming here. Only one thing caught my attention as I looked inside, these were the ones written on the four sides of the walls.

"Yesterday I waited, but you were still gone, for months and years I looked at the picture of the two of us but you were not there. When you entered the door I was still there even after a thousand years had passed." I said as I read what was written on the wall. I thought about what I read and I was horrified by what I realized. I looked closely at the other writing on the wall and I was surprised by what I witnessed.
