1 18th Birthdays' Bite

Everything felt cold. My whole body ached in pain like it was being pierced by a sharp ice. Sometimes I felt hot like I was being burned and sometimes I felt cold like the nights at dessert. What was happening to me? Where was I?

Tears started to form in my closed eyes at the thought of death. I never thought I would die on my 18th birthday. I forced myself to open my eyes and to look at my surrounding. I cannot give up and die here. I refuse to give up. Come on Tian, you are a strong girl and you can do this.

Slowly, I opened my eyes and tried to focus on what I could see. There was nothing in the room. No bed. No window. No door. It was like the room was sealed completely. There was no sign of life either. It was just a cold dark frightening room. No bulbs on the ceiling or even any sign of openings from above. Wait... no bulb. There is no light here but, why can I see everything? My eyes... my eyes? What have they done to me?

Tears started to roll down my cheeks. I shouldn't cry. Let's fix this later. I should get out of here first. Everything about this place screamed danger. I moved my hands to wipe my tears, but both were tightly tied with rope. Who are these guys? Never mind the tears, I should look for an exit; I know there must be a secret door here. They couldn't have just miraculously pushed me through the walls unless they had put me in this room and then blocked the exit. No, I shouldn't think negative.

Although I don't feel the strength in my legs, I still try to stand up. I lean against the wall and use it as my support. As soon as I am stood half up, a sharp pain travels through my whole body and I fall straight away on the ground. It feels like there are thousands of insects biting on my body; I couldn't bear the pain and start screaming loudly. I felt like something was digging into my flesh and soon I just stop thinking. All I can do is scream and cry. Just scream... scream loudly! Louder by the second. All I can do is scream and cry in this dark room.

I don't know when, but the pain starts to reduce. The tears have already dried on my skin. I sit up and slowly move my legs so that they are stretched in front of me. Every time I moved my legs, I flinched at every sharp pain I felt. I close my mouth and bite on my tongue to stop myself from screaming out again. No one came to help me when I was screaming so I guess nobody is around. After struggling for the whole hour, I had my legs stretched out in from of me.

I almost screamed out loud again at the sight of my bare legs. All I could see was bite marks everywhere in my legs. It didn't look like a bite from an animal or even a human. All I could see was four teeth marks, two on each opposite side with a little space between them. Blood had dried around them, and these marks looked like they were stabbed into my legs. On my thighs, on my calf and near my ankle. All I could see was dried blood and bite marks. Just like the marks, you will see in a Vampire movie. But vampires don't have four fangs? Do they? Vampire...

A sudden throbbing began in my head which continued to get worse by the second. It was like I was getting reminded of something but my body; my head didn't want me to remember whatever it was. I thought the pain was bearable for a second but then came the thunder. My whole head felt like it was being crushed by strong hands of someone. I screamed even more loudly at my head being bombarded by the unbearable pain. My head felt like it was getting smaller by the second and my whole body felt like it was shrinking. Shrinking and twisting.

My vision started to blur and soon the whole room was on spin. My whole body felt like it was being torn apart and then being put back together. Tears streamed out of my eyes. What have they done to me? I lay down on the ground and curl myself up to comfort the pain, but it just becomes more unbearable. I twisted in agony, in silence. And that's when I first saw him!

His cold walk that formed ice on the floor. His purple eyes that glistened in the dark. The sharp feature that made him handsome. Upon seeing his eyes, the pain in my body started to reduce. I felt comfort in his cold gaze. He was not a human for sure. My eyes stayed fixed at his movement and on his face.

The whole room was silent except for the sound of me screaming in agony. He walks towards me coldly and squats down in front of me. Everything about him was confusing and painful to think about and then he just smiles. The smile that screamed: you better run. The smile that shouted: it's dangerous. The smile that hallucinated: don't fall for me. The smile that said everything without even speaking.

His hands reached out to touch my face and I flinch when his cold icy hands touch my skin. His skin was as cold as Antarctica's weather. His hands were cold but, in his eyes, there was warmth. The warmth that said: I will get you out of here. But I wish I hadn't looked into his eyes. Something kept coming over me; the gaze that I thought felt warm was filled with evil intention. However, his eyes were like the sea that I wanted to dive in...

What am I thinking? Get yourself together Tian. What's happening to me? Why am I being like this? I closed my eyes and opened them again. When I opened my eyes, I was in his cold arms. I wasn't screaming anymore, and he hugged me tightly. What happened? When did I move from here to there? I struggled to get out of his strong grips and the more I moved, the more tightly he grasped me.

"I am sorry... but I have to do this" his cold voice sent cold shudders down my neck. I could feel my hair standing in attention.

He lets go of me and just holds me by my shoulders until I am facing him. I just look at him confused. My body was numb, and I could not feel anything or even move. My eyes look into his eyes and search for any answers or even clues as to who he was. All I could see was a dark purple desert. His freezing cold hands touch my face and slowly creases my cheeks gently. I wanted to scream and ask him who he was? However, my tongue failed to speak any words.

He holds my chin and pushes it up. All I could see was the ceiling of the room. Is there something that I am supposed to look for? Something below me glistened and I moved my eyes to look at what it was, but it was too late.

A sharp pain stabbed me at the front side of my neck. I screamed out loudly, but his hands moved at the speed of light to cover my mouth. I struggled with very little strength I had in my body. It was like four tiny knives were stabbed into my neck and they were pulling out my flesh. I kept feeling that something was being taken out of my body like my soul was being pulled out of my body.

My eyes become blurry and everything beings to get darker. I feel like somebody was forcibly trying to pull my eyelids down. My whole body felt wrecked and I just gave in to the temptation of letting everything do. Everything became darker like my world.
