Chapter 01: Charlie Carvette Equestrian
(The Humacorn Historical Sequence)
Princess Celestia narrated the story.
PRINCESS CELESTIA (Narrator):
Three thousand moons ago, before Equestria was founded, there was human from another world who came to our world. His name was Carvette. He discovered a crystal that will restore and unite everypony. The Humacorn crystal. When he grabbed it, he transformed into a Humacorn. Half human, half Alicorn, which, is earth pony, Pegasus and unicorn all together. He also obtained the Equestrian sword which was found under the sea. The Storm King ruled our world and caused chaos and disharmony before Grogar and Discord did. Carvette drew his sword and destroyed every storm creature alone. Then he used his powers to defeat the Storm King and banished him to the south. Carvette broke the crystal into three pieces which contains three powers. The Belief of the Earth pony, the Friendship of the Pegasus and the Magic of the Unicorn. He used his magic to separate them to each undiscovered lands, so, everypony will find and learn peace and harmony like friendship on their own in the distant future. Carvette went back to his world and use his last remaining magic to create an island where all humans and animals can unite and live-in harmony. The Equestrian Island. He became a hero, a legend. The Legendary Humacorn, Carvette Equestrian. I've been telling everypony that story so many times, except my star pupil, Twilight Sparkle, who is now the new Princess of Equestria and the lead Guardian of Harmony after me and my sister Luna. We already told her and her friends that we are retiring to Silver Shoals. But that was just a little white lie. I mean we have retired, but to another world where the Humacorn lives. What we didn't tell Twilight is we're on a quest to find Carvette Equestrian and bring him back to Equestria because Luna and I had a vision of the Storm King's return after his second defeat in Canterlot. I hope Twilight does forgive me and understand that Equestria isn't completely safe.
Location: Equestrian Island
Area: Flutter Forest
In the night, a ten-year-old boy named Charlie Carvette Equestrian was playing pretend with his toy sword.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
All right, everypony! It's time to save Equestria! Twilight, help me stop Nightmare Moon. And Applejack, you and the others stop Discord from causing chaos. Don't let him hypnotise you! Let's fight off the bad guys!
Charlie was playfully fighting the air with his toy sword, span around and fell on the grass whilst laughing.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN (laughing):
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!
Charlie was looking at the moon and stars in the sky and he was smiling and talking to himself.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
I love My Little Pony. I mean I haven't seen the eighty's version, but Friendship is Magic is way better. I hope they'll be more seasons, a couple of movies, or maybe a video game. I hope is a role-playing game. The Japanese ones are my favourite.
Charlie looked sad while he was still talking to himself.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
I don't know why dad left my mum last year, but he's always there for me. My mum hasn't been herself since the day it happened. I just hope she'll be there for me someday.
Charlie got up from the grass and he looked happy.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
If Equestria exists, I can take my parents there, then Twilight Sparkle can help with their friendship problems and my mum will be there for me just like my dad, and we'll be a family again!
Charlie sighed, while looking sad.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
Who am I kidding. I know that place doesn't exist. My Little Pony is only a cartoon. I mean it would be real if any cartoon characters like Celestia and Luna comes to my world from a magical portal behind me.
A big magic portal appeared behind Charlie, as he turned around and saw it. Princess Celestia and Princess Luna appeared from the magic portal and it disappeared behind them.
PRINCESS LUNA:
Are you sure this is the right world, sister?
PRINCESS CELESTIA:
Yes, Luna. According to his journal, Carvette created this island three thousand moons ago with his humacorn magic. So, once we find him, we'll....
Princess Celestia and Princess Luna spotted Charlie who looked surprised. Princess Luna and Princess Celestia whispered to each other.
PRINCESS LUNA (whispering):
Why is this creature staring at us like that?
PRINCESS CELESTIA (whispering):
I don't know. But I believe this creature is a human.
Princess Celestia slowly walked closer to Charlie.
PRINCESS CELESTIA:
Hello, little human.
Charlie screamed in happiness.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN (screaming):
AAAARRRGGGHHHH!
Princess Luna jumped by surprised, while Princess Celestia calmed Charlie down.
PRINCESS CELESTIA:
It's okay! It's okay! We're not going to harm you.
Charlie stopped screaming.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
Why would I think that you will?
PRINCESS LUNA:
Then why are you screaming?
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
Because I'm very happy to meet the famous Princesses, Celestia and Luna!
PRINCESS CELESTIA:
You know about us?
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
Yes! Twilight always gives you friendship reports, then she and her friends used the Elements of Harmony to save Luna from being Nightmare Moon and they used it again to stop Discord for causing chaos. And Luna had a fantastic time in Nightmare Night.
Princess Celestia and Princess Luna looked surprisingly happy.
PRINCESS CELESTIA:
Go on.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
That's it. That's all I know so far. I've watched all season one episodes of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic on T.V. Now I'm at season two. (whispering): The next episode is Hearth's Warming Eve. It'll be on this Christmas.
Princess Celestia and Princess Luna looked confused.
PRINCESS CELESTIA:
T.V?
PRINCESS LUNA:
Episodes?
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
You don't know what a T.V is? All right, I'll explain it to you. A T.V is a short word for television. It's like a storybook, but instead of reading it, you watch it while sitting down and eating popcorn or any food.
PRINCESS CELESTIA:
Ooohhh! So, it's like a theatre.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
Yes! It is like a theatre.
PRINCESS CELESTIA:
Well, that's something we can understand, little human.
Princess Luna whispered to Princess Celestia.
PRINCESS LUNA (whispering):
Celestia, remember why we're here.
PRINCESS CELESTIA (whispering):
Oh, right.
Princess Celestia looked at Charlie.
PRINCESS CELESTIA:
Where are my manners. What's your name, little human?
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
My name is Charlie Carvette Equestrian.
Princess Celestia and Princess Luna looked surprised.
PRINCESS LUNA:
Did you say, Carvette?
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
That's my middle name. My mum gave me that from the founder of Equestrian Island, Carvette Equestrian. He's was my great, great, great, great, great—I mean thirty times great grandfather.
PRINCESS LUNA:
So, you're his thirty times great grandson?
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
Yes. And that makes my dad his twenty-nine times great grandfather. I think.
PRINCESS CELESTIA:
Have you met your grandfather?
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
No. But I see the statue of him at city hall every day. He founded this island before I was born. Three thousand years ago. Or moons if you like to call it.
PRINCESS CELESTIA:
It's okay. We already know what years is.
PRINCESS LUNA:
Tell me, Charlie. How do you know about your grandfather?
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
I read books about him in the Saddle Library. He goes to a new world, finds a magic sword, finds a crystal that turns him into a human alicorn and defeats the Storm King. Everyone in this island believes it's just a story to impress the kids like me, but I believe it's real, because I love magic and magic ponies.
Princess Celestia and Princess Luna smiled.
PRINCESS CELESTIA:
Awww! That is so sweet.
PRINCESS LUNA:
Charlie, we know more about your grandfather. The world he came to is our world. We're only here to find him, so, we can bring him back to Equestria and...
Charlie heard a voice of his father, Malcolm Equestrian from the distance.
MALCOLM EQUESTRIAN:
Charlie! Are you in the forest?
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
Ah, yes, Dad! I'm just playing as usual!
MALCOLM EQUESTRIAN:
Well, don't move! I'm coming to look for you!
Charlie looked frighten.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
Oh, no. My dad is coming.
PRINCESS CELESTIA:
What wrong? We'd love to meet your dad.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
You don't understand. In my world, magic and alicorns are just made up. They don't exist! So, if my dad sees you, he'll panic.
Princess Luna agreed with Charlie.
PRINCESS LUNA:
He might be right. Charlie, has your dad been to this forest before?
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
No. But he will any minute if you don't find a place to hide.
Princess Celestia was thinking.
PRINCESS CELESTIA:
I have an idea! Luna, follow my lead.
Princess Celestia and Princess Luna used their magic from their horns to make lots of bricks and cement appeared out of nowhere. Then they levitate them in the air and they quickly built a mansion. After that, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna used their magic to shape-shift into human forms. They looked at Charlie.
PRINCESS CELESTIA:
Well, what do you think?
Charlie looked surprised.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
Wow! You can build a mansion? And change into humans? Neato!
Malcolm crawled out of the bushes, saw Charlie and walk up to him.
MALCOLM EQUESTIAN:
There you are, Charlie boy. Your mum called me and she wants me to take you home.
Malcolm saw Princess Celestia and Princess Luna in their human forms.
MALCOLM EQUESTIAN:
Oh, hello, ladies. I hope my son didn't bother you.
PRINCESS CELESTIA:
No, not at all. Your son is very interesting. He's been telling us about My Little Pony.
Malcolm smiled.
MALCOLM EQUESTRIAN:
Well, that's because he really loves that cartoon series.
Malcolm looked at the mansion behind Charlie, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna.
MALCOLM EQUESTIAN:
Wow! What a mansion! I've never seen it before. Well, it's my first time here. I always wait for Charlie boy outside of the forest, Mrs...
PRINCESS CELESTIA:
Everfree. Cindy Everfree. And this my sister, Linda.
MALCOLM EQUESTRIAN:
My name's Malcolm. I'm a member of the electrician patrol in Equestrian City.
PRINCESS LUNA:
So, you're a Wonderbolt?
MALCOLM EQUESTRIAN:
I wish. I haven't got promoted yet. So, how long you ladies been living in Flutter Forest?
PRINCESS CELESTIA:
About a week. Since we been retired, we decided to come and live here in peace and harmony.
Charlie looked surprised.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
Wait, you're retired! Why? No, no. Don't tell me. I'll figure it out myself, if you know what I mean.
Charlie winked at Princess Celestia and she smiled.
PRINCESS CELESTIA:
I do.
MALCOLM EQUESTIAN:
Well, you're in luck. This island has been in peace and harmony since it was first founded.
Malcolm gave Princess Celestia a map and a brochure.
MALCOLM EQUESTRIAN:
Here, this is a map and brochure. It will help you where to go and give you some information. If you want to learn more about this island, you can go to Saddle Library.
PRINCESS CELESTIA:
I believe Charlie already told us that.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
That's right. Well, I gotta go. My mum is probably worried about me. I gotta watch more of My Little Pony episodes and I also gotta finish writing a story.
PRINCESS LUNA:
What kind of a story?
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
A My Little Pony story. I haven't come up with a title yet, but I gotta watch the show to get some more ideas. I don't know how long it will take, but I'll let you know when it's finished. I mean I know about Ponyville, Canterlot, the Mane six, the Cutie Mark Crusaders and Discord.
Princess Celestia smiled.
PRINCESS CELESTIA:
Mr. Equestrian, your son has a brilliant imagination. How can he remember a lot about My Little Pony?
MALCOLM EQUESTRIAN:
My son was born with autism, and watching that show calms him down. And playing JRPG video games.
PRINCESS LUNA:
I think we need to learn about this autism and video games in Saddle Library.
MALCOLM EQUESTRIAN:
You do that. Come on, Charlie boy. Let's take you home.
Charlie looked embarrassed.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTIAN:
Ohh! Dad, do you have to keep calling me that?
After Charlie and his dad left the forest, Princess Luna was wondering with Princess Celestia was thinking.
PRINCESS LUNA:
What you have in mind, Celestia?
PRINCESS CELESTIA:
If Charlie said he hasn't seen his ancient grandfather and this island has been founded three thousand years ago, then he's nowhere to be found.
PRINCESS LUNA:
What should we do?
PRINCESS CELESTIA:
We need to watch over him and when the time is right, we will tell him that his ancient grandfather is a legendary humacorn.
Inside the car, Malcolm was driving in the city, while Charlie was sitting in the passenger seat.
MALCOLM EQUESTIAN:
You know, Mrs. Everfree and her sister are very nice people. And I know what they are.
Charlie looked surprised.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
You do?
MALCOLM EQUESTRIAN:
Yes. They're teachers. I recognise their uniforms.
Charlie sighed in relief.
MALCOLM EQUESTIAN:
Your mum is going to sign you up for school in two days. But instead, I'll ask to Cindy and Linda to tutor you in their mansion. Then I'll take you there every day, pick you up before dinner and you'll still be staying with me at weekends and the holidays. Would you like that?
Charlie looked happy.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
Would I? Thanks dad! This will give me more time to write my story, watch My Little Pony and finish my JRPG Video games! And when I've finished, I'm going to hire an agent and send my story to Hasbro in America.
MALCOLM EQUESTIRAN:
And I promise all of your dreams will come true, Charlie boy. Nothing will happen to you.
Charlie smiled and rolled his eyes.
(Opening credits and the theme song A Place with No Name by Michael Jackson)
Malcolm stopped his car and Charlie got out and went inside his house, while waving goodbye to his dad. Inside the house, Charlie kissed his mum Samamtha Crystal on the cheeks and ran upstairs to his bedroom. Inside Charlie's bedroom, he has a lot of My Little Pony toys, books, posters and bedsheets.
As the years passed, Charlie has been doing some tutoring with Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, watching My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and Equestria Girls, writing his story and staying with his dad all weekends and holidays. Samamtha looked worried and never bothered to contact her son. Princess Celestia and Princess Luna showed four tickets to see My Little Pony: The Movie to Charlie, and they and Malcolm went to the cinema and watched it. After Charlie watched all nine season episodes of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, he was struggling to finish his story, but he got a high rate of writer's block. Charlie was about to give up, until he watched My Little Pony: A New Generation on Netflix. When he saw Sunny Starscout on the T.V screen, he realised he should never give up. Charlie went back to writing his story and after he finished it, he wrote a title on front page that said, My Little Pony: The Legend of the Humacorn.
Sub-text: Ten Years Later
Location: Charlie's House
Area: Charlie's bedroom
Charlie, who is now twenty years old looked happy as he looked at his finished story.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
I did it! After ten long years of watching My Little Pony, I've finally completed my best story ever! My Little Pony: The Legend of the Humacorn! Which is half human, half alicorn. My mum is going to love this.
Samamtha called out to Charlie.
SAMAMTHA CRYSTAL:
Charlie! Would you come downstairs, please. I wanna talk to you.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
Coming, mum!
Charlie grabbed his story and left his bedroom.
Area: The Living Room
Charlie went downstairs and enter the room where his mum was sitting on the couch.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
Mum, you'll never guess what I've done.
SAMAMTHA CRYSTAL:
Would you sit down, please.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTIAN:
But, mum. This is important.
SAMAMTHA CRYSTAL:
I said sit down!
Charlie looked worried and quickly sat on the couch.
SAMAMTHA CRYSTAL:
Charlie, for the last ten years, you've been watching T.V, playing video games and you've been talking to yourself too loudly. So, I come with a decision.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
What kind of decision?
SAMAMTHA CRYSTAL:
I've signed you up to live in a care home, in America.
Charlie looked scared as he got up from the couch.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
What?! Why?
SAMAMTHA CRYSTAL:
You and I have been arguing for a long time now and us living together is too much for me. You'll be leaving tomorrow morning.
Charlie didn't look happy as turned away from his mum.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
I'm not going. I'm staying here.
SAMAMTHA CRYSTAL:
Charlie, this separation is only way to fix our relationship.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTIAN:
But it never worked with you and dad.
SAMAMTHA CRYSTAL:
I know, dear. But this island is giving you nothing but trouble. You must listen to me.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
No! I will not listen to you! I hate care homes!
SAMAMTHA CRYSTAL:
But this one will be good for you. You'll make some friends.
Charlie looked frustrated.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
Friends?! With mental problems and different autisms? Mum I just want to make friends with someone who doesn't have any of these things.
SAMAMTHA CRYSTAL (Firmly):
You listen to me, young man. You're going to live in a care home tomorrow and there's nothing you can do about it. End of discussion!
Charlie looked at his mum and stayed calm.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
I know why you wanted to put me in a care home. Ever since my dad left, you decided not to be there for me and not to contact me, so you can hire someone I don't know to do it for you.
Samamtha looked scared and Charlie smiled.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
Huh. I'm right, aren't I. You never wanted to know me because you only wanted to worry about yourself. Everybody knows that a mum should always worry about her son. Now I see you're not one of them. You're a bad mum. I'm going to walk to town, see Cindy, Linda and maybe my dad for the last time, so I'll never have to worry about kissing my dreams goodbye. Bye, Mum.
Charlie grabbed his rucksack, put his story inside, carried it on his back and left the living room. Samamtha tried to stop her son.
SAMAMTHA CRYSTAL:
Charlie, wait!
After Charlie left the house, his mum looked sad.
SAMAMTHA CRYSTAL:
I'm not a bad mum.
