2 Cold Death

The stars in the sky were nonexistent, as between us arose puffs of gray. Those balls of cotten seen during the day shifted into streams of gray the color of ash and soot. They blanketed the sky, hiding the full moon in it's full glory behind them. But the moon fought, it fought to shine it's light on the earth. But the clouds stretched over the sky, giving it a hazy ominous feel.

She was seated on the rails at the very edge of her balcony. One step backward and she would be falling off a ten storied building. She faced the moon with a lazy smile tugging her lips not minding the foes who had their guns aimed at her back. Her long white robes danced to the tunes of the wind and her dark skin legs swung around to it's beats.

"If I were you I would put those toys down" her calm melodious voice echoed in the eerie silence.

She swung her legs over the railings tearing her eyes from the silver moon and bestowed them on her esteemed guests.

In fear, the men clad in black dropped their guns and cowered in fear at the figure. Fortunately for them she was not interested in them, her attention was solely focused on the couple entangled in an ambiguous position.

"Ella, how long have I known you?"

"Fifteen years..." the dainty figure replied seeking shelter in the arms of her beloved.

"How can you bully your best friend this way" the man in white berated however the mysterious figure gave him flitting glare before returning her attention to his arms.

"Using my name for your own benefits, soiling my name behind my back, selling confidential information to my rivals, seducing my fiancé and lastly, poisoning me... anything more you want to add to that" a cold menacing aura filled the room, her cold nonchalant eyes held a murderous glint.

On hearing her words, the formerly confident man felt a shiver down his spine. In fear, he pushed the dainty figure in his arms and retreated back a few steps.

"Ade I can explain-" the dainty figure begged.

"Oh really Ella, let's hear it" Ade sneered.

"Am sorry, am so sorry, it was the devil"Ella pleaded forgiveness.

"I have always known of your sins but do you know why am acting now.?" Ade chuckled

"Because you poisoned me for a man" she completed casting a sidelong glance at the retreating man.

"But don't worry Ella, you have no fault in this... I punished your parents for not teaching you well" she sneered.

"Funniest part is the man you ruined your family and our friendship for..." she cast a glance towards the retreating man. Even though her sentence wasn't completed the meaning was quite obvious.

Ade walked towards Ella's dainty figure, her menacing gaze caused sent the girl kneeling and begging for mercy. She stooped to Ella's level and ordered the men in black "Break his legs and bring him back." Her eyes smiled sinisterly as she resumed her original position on the railings.

"Please let him go, it's not his fault, just let him go I'll accept whatever punishment you give" Ella wailed bitterly.

"Seems he is worth more than your family"

"We are all going to die anyways" she walked calmly into her chambers not minding the crying girl and bloodied man. With a wave she dismissed the guards and sat lazily on her bed.

The previously crowded room was now left with three bodies. Ade glanced at the pale man by the door, "You poisoned me I returned the favour, hope you both enjoyed the birthday cake"

Looking at their shocked faces she chuckled coldly.

"In a few minutes, we would all be pronounced dead but not from poison"

"In two minutes, everything we have ever owned would erupt in flames, including this building"

"Try to escape if you can" Ade smirked at the man whose face was devoid of colour.

Ade laid on her large bed with no care in the world. Beside her stood Ella who sobbed uncontrollably as she got on the bed.

"Everyday for the thief one day for the owner" she cast a sidelong glacé at Ella. "You taught me that"

"Three best friends died in the flames, the headlines for tomorrow" Ella hiccuped.

"At least I fulfilled my promise to die with you" she scoffed

She seemed to have accepted her fate. This was one thing Ade loved about her, her ability to face reality. Sadly, Ella got blinded by love and greed and she, the subject of her greed and jealousy was blinded by revenge.

She had obtained her revenge, she could finally rest in peace however at that dying moment she felt empty. She had always lived her life in the dark. As an hidden heiress, she had always being confined within the walls. To enact her revenge, she manipulated things in the dark? Would anyone even remember her after she is gone? But before she could mourn her wasted years everything erupted in flames.
