2 He Can Tell Me Himself!

"If he really likes me as much as he says he does, then he can tell me himself!" I hastily scribbled out before handing it back to Micah. I then pretended to pay attention to class and what the teacher was saying. After a couple minutes, Micah slid another slip of paper across my desk that read "to richie". I quickly handed it over to him before forcing myself to listen to the teacher; after all, we had a test on the subject at the end of the week.

We were given a 10 minute break before the next lesson, so everyone decided to go outside since it was the beginning of spring and the weather that day was beautiful. I scurried off to find a warm patch of not so wet grass to sit on and started people watching. As I was drifting off daydreaming, the shadow of a gangly pair of legs came between the sun and me. I looked up and my dark brown eyes met cerulean ones. He quickly glanced away from my gaze and shyly sat down beside me. Not looking at me, he parts his thin lips and says,

"So... Will you go out with me?" I tried to not look in his direction either as I asked,

"How long have you liked me for?" To which he replied that he didn't know either. Micah sauntered over to us and crouched behind us; he placed each of his hands on one of our shoulders and exclaimed,

"Hey you shy little love birds! Just get on with it already! Richie we all know that you've liked her for forever!" He turned to look at me "And you! We're all so young! We have to live the springtime of our youth to the best of our abilities!"

I turned to look at Micah.

"Dude, it's not that I don't want to date him. I'm not allowed to. You guys already know from everything I told you that my parents are super strict, especially my dad! You know how asian parents are!" His facial expression said *Are you an idiot Zu Chiman?*

"Then just don't let them know! Duh!" He made a sound of exasperation.

I didn't tell them the whole story though. It's not just that my parents were strict and I would probably get beat until I couldn't walk if this happened, but I honestly don't feel anything toward Richie other than deep friendship. He was like a brother to me.
