"*Pant* *Pant* It's the same one again, what is happening to me?"

Adler woke up to see a soundly sleeping Yua, as soon as his eyes fell on her his breathing eased and he cleared his mind.

Then Adler got up and walked outside to see a rising sun.

"It's been half a month huh?"

Outside there was a well groomed yard with fencing, how that happened you ask, that was Adler practicing to increase his Energeon capacity.

He has been using it to basically do everything nowadays, from drinking water to lighting and he has actually started incorporating it in fighting.

But Yua's growth has slowed down and her Energeon capacity growth has been minimal, Adler's Energeon has reached 1820 while Yua's has only gone up to 257.

✶Kill Count : 980✶

Both Adler and Yua have the same kill count, Adler usually catches most of the Masked Genomes while Yua kills them. Since, they are in the same party their kill count is shared.

Today is the last day, at least according to that crazy voice that gave them the tasks.

By the time Adler was finished reminiscing Yua had walked out behind Adler then she clung onto Adler's right arm,

~YAWN~

As Yua yawned Adler planted a kiss on Yua's forehead.

They have basically become a couple now, well walking on a tightrope called life and just one step away from death they've been depending on each other and it eventually grew until they just knew what the other needed.

"Good Morning"

Yua said while rubbing her eyes, looking at this Adler couldn't help but think, 'I want time to stop at this moment forever'.

"Good Morning, you want to sleep? I can finish the kill count for you, you know."

"No, I'm coming with you."

~THUD~ ~BAM~ ~THUD~

As they were pampering each other something was approaching at a high velocity.

"HEY! HELP!"

A small group with 3 girls and 2 guys were heading their way with a huge monster, Yua and Adler had never seen, on their heels.

"What the hell? They're leading that thing straight for us!"

Adler swept Yua up and held her in a princess carry as he shot off from the spot and jumped nearly 150 meters in the air to land on a small mound on the ground, that was thanks to his sky high strength stat.

"HEYYYY! HELP US PLEASE WE BEG YOU!"

Without giving up the group changed directions and ran toward Adler, Adler opened his map to see,

✶Enemy - (Masked Genome - Type B)✶

"It's a fu*king Type - B Genome, Yua stay here got that?"

~NOD~ ~NOD~

Confirming her reaction Adler raced of toward the group.

"Hey, I'll help you for now, get out of the way!"

With Adler's shout the group split in two and ran in opposite directions. Adler ran right for the Genome while calling up a weapon using Energeon.

"ENERGEON WEAPON : DEATH WIELDER"

With that command an oozing black scythe, with a 2 meter long blade, appeared in Adler's hands.

~SWOOOSH~

Swinging it down at the creature's right shoulder, Adler hacked of it's arm, while continuing in the same trend,

~SWOSH~ ~SWOOSH~ ~SWOOOSH~

Adler hacked of the rest of it's limbs, with a last ditch effort the monster tried to bite at Adler,

~SHING~

only to get beheaded in the process.

With an icy bluish-black glow, the scythe vanished into sparkling blue particles, Adler turned around and made it back to a grinning Yua.

"Why are you grinning?"

"It's nothing."

Yua said while making sure Adler didn't get hurt anywhere.

As Yua checked Adler, a guy from the group that was chased by the Genome walked up to Adler.

"Hey man, thank you very much for helping us out there."

"You could have gotten us killed you know. Are you out of your mind leading those things to other people?!"

Adler's tone got harsher the longer he spoke, the guy backpedaled with a scared expression.

"Hey sorry, sorry we didn't mean too, we had no other choice you know."

The guy had a genuinely apologetic expression which did ease a little of Adler's anger.

"Alright, you got the help you needed, SCRAM!"

With Adler's sudden change of tone the approaching group members all froze on spot, while the guy standing right in front of Adler stood his ground,

"Can't you help us a little man, we have been walking through this hell for days without even a decent meal, you seem to have a house... can you just let us rest a little, please."

The guy's plea only made Adler angrier but,

"Fine, we will let you rest for a little bit."

"Yua?"

As Adler looked at Yua with a little bit of surprise Yua just motioned for Adler to come closer.

"Come on, it'll just be for a little bit and they seem genuinely tired. If I had shown up in that manner would you have turned me away?"

With Yua saying that with doe eyes, Adler couldn't say anything and gave the group his permission.

"Fine, it'll only be for today, got that?"

"Thank you, thank you so very much."

As the guy thanked Adler, Adler just asked him without much interest,

"What is your name?"

"Oh, sorry about that, I'm Alex, he's Kai, that's Haruko, that's Hori and she's Itsuki."

Alex introduced the entire group, Alex was a blond, while Kai had jet-black hair with black eyes.

The girl named Haruko had blond hair with brown eyes while Hori had similar looks to Haruko, as it turns out they are sisters. Itsuki had black hair and charming green eyes.

"Ok then, come with me."

Adler and Yua led the group to their little house, as the group gawked at the well maintained lawn and house.

"How did you even grow grass in this soil?"

To that Adler made no reply and kept walking, Yua showed them in and they all sat wherever there was space in the living room.

"So what are your names?"

Alex asked to Adler and Yua, then Yua replied,

"Oh, I'm Yua and this is Adler, nice to make your acquaintance."

"The pleasure's mine."

Alex replied with a broad smile, while the others also gave a smile, only Adler was rolling around a rock between his fingers like this had nothing to do with him.

"He just isn't good with strangers, don't take it personally."

Yua chimed in noticing the group's line of sight.

"Oh, no it's not a problem at all, I figured as much. This world drives everyone crazy so it isn't uncommon to see cautious people."

Alex replied with an unchanging expression plastered across his face.

"By the way, you were awesome in that fight back there. How did you even do... you know get that weapon?"

With a curious tone Kai inquired Adler while the rest of the group looked at Adler with clear curiousity.

"It's an Energeon weapon."

Adler said while not showing much interest in the topic.

"It is a weapon that uses Energeon to sustain it's existence."

Yua answered the group's question in more detail.

"Energeon? Oh, it's that column in that status window that we didn't know about!"

Itsuki told her friends while pointing to her status window.

Kai also had similar stats, after they checked their Energeon values they all turned toward Yua, with an inquisitive look.

"Well, to use it you need to visualize what you want to do, as long as you have enough Energeon you can do just about anything, like this."

Yua held up her hand, then a small bright light appeared on her hands.

"Wow..."

The entire group gawked at the light, and shifted their glances to each other.

"Hey, can you teach me? Please."

Itsuki was the first to jump up with the request, then the others followed suit.

"Alright, Alright."

As Yua was teaching the group about things that they had learned about in the past week, Adler left the house.

As the scythe dispersed from Adler's hands,

Adler entered the house to see the group eating lunch and Yua cooking food. They were scarfing down the food like there was no tomorrow.

Without sparing them a glance, Adler walked behind Yua and held her around her waist while saying,

"I finally finished the kill count quota."

"Oh! You did? Sorry I couldn't help you."

Taken by surprise by the sudden embrace, Yua let out a cute yelp, then she registered his words while replying with an apologetic tone.

"You don't need to apologize, after all we are here for each other aren't we?"

"Ya"

Yua put down the spatula while leaning back on Adler's chest to enjoy his warmth.

Seeing the sudden show of affection between the two, the group members stopped eating to look at them with curious glances.

"Are you guys dating?"

Alex probed with a cautious tone to which Adler replied without mercy,

"Shut up moron, can't you see we're busy."

Hearing Adler's jovial tone the group's tension subsided and they all laughed together, Alex sat down with a satisfied expression.
