18 Really, you're making me so worked up

It was cold, dark, and was eerie inside the cold palace. It has not been too long since Ye Beom was kept held in the cold palace, but just five days since the incident. And it has been five days since she last saw the wonderful ray of sunlight seeping through the clouds, since she last felt the playful frolicking of the wind through her soft pale and tender skin, as it brushes along her hair, entangling with some of the fallen leaves. It has been five days since she last step foot onto the cold damp soil of her front yard, barefoot. It has been five days since she last felt the rough surface of the tree that she and the crown prince Eunhyun used to spend their time.

"Really... why does it feels like I have been held here for a decade?" Ye Beom uttered to herself in a hopeless tone, followed by a big sigh.

KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!

A loud knock was heard, as it echoed all around the room.

"Your highness, the second princess, your meal has arrived. I will leave your meal in front of the door. I shall go back to my position after her highness picks up her meal." The guard from the outside said.

"That same line again. Over and over." She sighs whispering to herself.

"Your highness?" The guard wondered why the princess wasn't answering. "Princess..??"

"Yes, yes coming! Just a moment!" Princess Ye Beom yelled back at him.

CREEAAKKK...

With the small gap of the door, the princess took a peak at the outside. When suddenly the guard blocked her sight.

"I believe that the princess only needs to open her door and pick her meal up, and nothing more than that." The guard with stern voice and looks said.

You've got quite a temper, Mr. guard. She thought, then the princess sighed.

"Step aside, I'll pick it up. You may return to your position now." That was what she said. But the guard did not listened and stayed at the princess's door. "Look, I won't try to sneak out again. So will you step aside now?"

"Your wish is impossible, your highness. This subject only follows his majesty's words." The guard said as he held his head up.

Wow, this man is tough. "I see, well then, bye!" The princess abruptly shut her doors.

"But princess your meal!" The guard was dumbfounded as the doors almost hit his face when the princess closed it. He sighed.

I was lucky enough to get to be this close to the princess as this palace's doors guard by now, without anyone noticing the change with order of the guards. I should meet with her after the sun sets. By then, I would be able to report to her everything that I have observed.

While the guard was in his deep thoughts, a light footsteps was nearing him.

"You're not doing your job properly, young lad." Said the man as he put a dagger on the guard's neck. He caught him off guard.

The guard's eye widened. "Who- ah! Captain... what is the captain doing here?"

"Simply, want to check how-"

"Excuse me? Hey, Mr. young guard, I think I just heard my husband's voice due to starvation? Can you please pass me my meal?" The princess, out of nowhere, butt in to the conversation of the two as she slowly opens the door.

"No. Can't do!" The startled guard impulsively closed the door as fast as the wind.

"So rude!" Princess Ye Beom complained.

"My apologies, princess." He replied.

And when the young lad looked back at his captain... He was already receiving a death glare with his captain's blazing eyes. "Really... don't you think it was quite rude? Min. Wang. Yu?"

" A-ah! C-captain Taejoo~ I know it was wrong~ I was in the wrong... but it can't be helped. Captain you're not even supposed to be here." The startled Wangyu whispered, as he maintain his composure.

"Yes, yes." Consort Taejoo laughed, amused at the young lad. When he suddenly stopped and became all serious. "However, I must say. It's interesting to know how my soldier, not to say one of my most skilled soldier, became a... guard?" A smirked was plastered on Taejoo's face.

"Is the blue wolves captain, doubting Min Wangyu?" Wangyu confronted.

Taejoo walked closer to Wangyu, until their faces were a couple of inch far with each other. And said: "Not just that. I'm being quite wary, and suspicious of you." Then his eyes squinted.

Min Wangyu immediately knelt in one knee. "This subject apologize, captain Song Taejoo. But I am only carrying out a imperial order given to me. This is the only information that I can tell you, captain Taejoo, your grace."

"Yes, yes, yes. Sure you do." Taejoo calmly replied, putting both of his hand on his back, tilting his head as he tries to hold in his running thin patience with a wicked smile.

"Once again. I apologize captain, your grace." Wangyu repeated, bowing to Taejoo.

Taejoo just gave of a cold stare towards him and walks away.

"Nam Rowon. What have you done?" Taejoo then released a deep sigh. "Sometimes I wonder if are you using your brain, or it's just that you're not on my side."

"Captain Taejoo, your grace, give us your order." The kneeling soldier said.

"Gather all the trusted members in the blue wolves by dawn in my drawing room in secret. The current plan will be on hold, but we will carry out a new one. I suspect that a spy has infiltrated us. I trust this to you, Hyunsik." Taejoo confided to Hyunsik in a low voice so that no one can hear them, as he place his right hand on Hyunsik's right shoulder.

"I'm at your service, captain!" And with that, Hyunsik immediately flee off of the place to do what he has been told.

"I'm..." Taejoo sighed, then stretched his body. "...exhausteeed. Haaaah... Ye Beom-ah, why do you always get caught in troubles? Are you some kind of a trouble magnet?" Taejoo chuckled at his silly thought while looking up at the clear blue sky.

"Somehow, I think... I've been missing you a lot lately." Then a faint smile was slowly building up from his lips. "No, it's not like that. Haha, who am I trying to fool? Really.. you're making me so worked up."

Without Taejoo noticing, his lips curved into a bright smile as he utters the words:

"I miss you... Ye Beom."
