7 Hope of light in a disaster

Stomping as she recalls how her brother ruined her mood even more, the princess decided to just head back to her palace.

"Hwayoung, we are going back to the palace. Send a word to the guards." The princess said. But no one replied. "Did you not hear?" She repeated as she looks back.

Huh? Where did they go? She thought. As she tries to remember where could the assistant court ladies that was following her, could be.

Ah. Yeah right, I told them to go when brother Eunhyun and I talked. Then she sighed, disappointed to her self.

How could I even forgot about them? Now I'll be walking alone. She huffed and huffed like a child.

As she walks alone, all of the servant that she encounters will always be trembling in fear and will bow eventually to her, and as she pass by them they will immediately scram.

It was as if they are running for their survival against a 1000 years old dragon that is about to annihilate all human beings, that breathes a blue fire.

The princess sighed. "What a joke." She mumbled. Do they really have to be THAT afraid of me?

"It's so boring here." She sighed as she bend down to pick up some rocks.

"Don't even have anything to do." Ye Beom said as she throw the rocks one by one. "Oh! That fourth rock came the farthest I throw?!" Ye Beom exclaimed in joy.

When she was about to go back to the place where she picked up the rocks, she saw some of her men preparing the rich black stallion.

That horse... isn't that Kiro? Where are they taking Kiro? Ohhh this guys!

Princess Ye Beom then walked in a fast phase as she thought that her men will be taking Kiro and sell him off. Just by thinking about it, the second princess's blood boil.

Oh no, they're going to go already!

"Just what do—" the princess wasn't able to continue what she was about to shout as she saw her first consort came out. He is wearing his armor with his sheathed sword around his waist.

Where is he going? The princess thought.

Just about when the princess is to approach the consort, an unfamiliar beautiful lady came out from the Gwihan palace, handed out the dosirak to the first consort with a warm smile; "Take care brother Taejoo!"

The first consort returned the warm smile to the lady before he departed.

Witnessing that, the princess felt a thorn in her heart as her vision turns in a blur. Why is she calling him brother? And she even called his name so casually.

"Why am I hurting?" She asked herself. "Is this my emotion? Or the character's?"

But.. in the story that I wrote, the princess has no such feelings. So, is this mine? Oh, how funny this is. Haha. Then she hopelessly laughed in tears. "Just why?"

Clueless of what was happening to her, she just stood there and let her tears fall. Pitying herself as she sobs. The princess when unaware of her surroundings that she did noticed that the unfamiliar lady is staring at her with an amused look.

"This will be something entertaining I see." The lady whispered to herself with a smug expression. After some time, she decided to leave with a satisfied look.

"You, what are you doing there just standing? Carry this basket!" She scoffed to her female servant as she forcefully pushed the basket to the servant's chest. After that she stomped her way far to the Gwihan palace.

"Hey are you okay?" Asked the other female servant to the other.

"Y-yes. Go follow the mistress. Or else we will get punished." She replied.

"O-okay..." the other female servant replied.

The other female servant ran after their mistress and said; "Mistress, please let me lead the way. I apologize for our tardiness." Then she bowed.

"Very well then. Make a use of yourself." The mistress timidly answered.

As the party of the unknown lady left, the second princess is still tearing up as she is dozing off. Her knees become weak and falls onto the cold ground. It was funny to think that when she fell on the ground the second princess thought that the ground was supporting her and was comforted by its coldness. The second princess places her hand on the ground and grope on the grass. She felt betrayed and was hurt. It was like something was straggling her neck. Suddenly she glanced at the grass that she has been groping for quite a while now. She releases it and said: "It seems like it was mindless of me to do the same thing to you."

"Oh goodness gracious! Princess?! What are you doing sitting there?!" It was a voice of a lady. The princess looked up to find who it was.

Princess Ye Beom immediately flashed a forced smile; "Oh... it was you..." She responded. "...lady Joo-in."

Her smile showed her true vulnerability. You can see through the smile how shattered she was. Right there, at that moment, lady Joo-in immediately know that their tough foul mouthed tyranness mistress they have, changed.

Oh mistress. What should I do with you? Lady Joo-in worried.

"Let's head inside mistress." Lady Joo-in suggested as she offers her hand to the second princess.

Really, how funny this is. I've been offered a hand for two times in a row. Seems like I'm more likely to trample to the ground huh?

Princess Ye Beom took Lady Joo-in's hand without hesitation. Lady Joo-in helped the second princess to stand as soon as the princess took her hand. It somehow made the lady at ease as she wish that the princess could rely on her more. Thinking about that, lady Joo-in was saddened.

Why does it feels like the entrance of my palace is so far?

The princess then tried to look up in-spite of the urging tears that's threatening to roll down. She sniffed, and sniffed, and sniffed again. Suddenly it started to drizzle. It made her stop on her tracks. As she look up at the dark skies.

"Mistress? We must keep going." Lady Joo-in reminded.

The second princess just stared at the dark skies unbothered by the drizzle and smiled: "Lady Joo-in." she paused as she let out a deep sigh. "Can you guess what weather I prefer?"

Thats is so sudden. Lady Joo-in thought.

"This servant think that it is during cloudy days, mistress."

"Wrong answer lady Joo-in." Then the second princess turns her gaze to lady Joo-in. "Rainy days... is what I prefer the most."

Yes. Rain has always been a friend of me. Even in my past life. It has always been.

"If the princess will allow me to know. Why is it that you prefer the rainy season, mistress?"

Lady Joo-in asked in curiosity.

"It's because they listen to my cries. Rain responds to my grieving with a thunder." The princess reasoned out.

Lady Joo-in's eyes widened then changed into a soft ones. "Then what does the princess thinks about the lightning?"

"To me..." the princess paused then she faced lady Joo-in.

"...they are a light of hope in a disastrous moment!" She continued with a genuine heartfelt smile.

Lady Joo-in's eye once again widened. She was startled as she did not expected that the princess has a such mature thought. There she felt sorry for the princess Ye Beom and at the same time is proud.

Our second princess has matured.
