1 Ch 1

Alex was running in a bushy meadow with several of his friends, playing tag and looking for animals.

"3, 2, 1. Watch out, here I come!" Alex exclaimed as he ran towards his friends. His heels started pounding at the ground, blue light coming out of his ankles. He quickly caught up to them.

'Yikes, how did you get so fast' was what most of the children were wondering. They started crowding around Alex, asking for the secret. What they didn't know was that a snake was quickly approaching the children crowding around Alex.

"Watch out, a snake!" Alex shouted. The children backed up towards the tree. Alex walked up towards the snake and gave him a piece of dried meat from his pocket. The snake happily digested the meat, then gave him a look and slithered away.

'watch out', the snake seemed to tell him. Alex would find many more snakes around their meadow that day, bringing one back to his home.

"That was fun! See you tomorrow!" Julius shouted towards Alex as he neared his house.

"Hmu, you too! Same meadow!" Alex replied.

He ran quickly past the mud-colored square houses and the tents put up on the roadside, gripping the snake he caught gently but firmly.

Entering a fancier building, Alex treads up a flight of stairs to show his father and mother the snake he found.

"Dad, Mom, look what I found! Isn't he cool?" Alex says, expecting them to shower him with praise.

"Why would you bring this little thing to us? Why didn't you bring the dead body of it here instead," His father questioned. Alex's jaw dropped, letting go of his tender grip on the snake.

"I can't believe I gave birth to such a weak child," His mother sighed, feeling queasy by looking at the snake. "Phillip, please kill the snake," she told Alex's father.

"Yes, dear." Alex's father threw a spear towards the snake, impaling it in the eye. Alex couldn't believe his eyes. His father and mother were always warm and friendly towards him, why did they have such a turn in character?

Alex felt his stomach fill up with fury, hot tears leaking out of his eyes. He grabbed the snake's corpse and ran away from the luxurious room where he presented the snake.

He heard his mother tell his father, "perhaps you pressured him too much ..."

Alex wiped the tears off his eyes, ready to run away from the house when his foot got caught on a step on the stairs. He tumbled down the stairs and blacked out.

His parents started running towards the area where the sound was, and found the body of Alex, head cracked and neck snapped.

"Oh, dear." The mother said indifferently.

"Quickly, find someone to heal him! I will pray to the gods for his return!" The father yelled, running towards a bronze statue of a merman.

A person in a white robe came and took him to an infirmary.

A boy opened his eyes only to see a blinding light almost as bright as the sun. He tried to move his head, but was restricted by an unknown force. He felt dizzy and almost didn't notice the group of people in blue clothing, partially hiding their faces with blue masks. He looked downwards and saw that his stomach was cut open, and started to panic. Why didn't he feel any pain? Suddenly, one of the blue people injected him with a purple substance. His eyelids started drooping and he felt a huge urge to fall asleep. His eyes were forced shut, his arms becoming stiff. His thoughts slowed down as he watched the darkness cloud him yet again.

When he opened his Heterochronic eyes, he was met with a pair of dark green eyes staring right at him. He immediately jumped away in terror, believing that he was one of the people dressed in blue. The boy smiled warmly, then started laughing heavily.

"Hi, my name's Will! Welcome to eternal suffering," he said. "I'm guessing you woke up during your procedure, didn't you?" His wavy, sand blonde hair was very prominent, and he seemed somewhat young, possibly age six or seven, similar to the boy who just woke up. he was dressed in a pure white uniform with a green choker, green wristbands and green shoes. On his uniform was a laminated piece of paper with unidentifiable words.

"Hi, I'm ... who am I?" the boy questioned. He seemed to have amnesia.

"Well, based on your uniform, I'm guessing your name's Alexander Macedon."
