11 Chapter 11: Breaking Cannon 2

Chapter 11: Breaking Cannon 2

# Should I release a longer chapter or 2 chapters. Decisions, decisions

I have to give it to uncle Ryo, his taste in bikes is superb, right now I'm riding a [Royal Enfield Classic 500] with a white accent. It's a nice bike, but the vibration when accelerating is too much for me.

"Akira-kun, Over Here! Fu fu fu"

As I was cruising my way to the gas station, I saw someone waving at me. That must be Nami. She's still in her work clothes. If i didn't know any better, she would strike me as a 10/10 from both looks and personality.

"Did you wait long?"

"No, not at all"

Her smile is very very captivating, did I mention that her hair is tied in a ponytail style? 11/10.

"Umu! That's a nice bike"

DID SHE JUST PULL AN UMU? 12/10.

"Yeah, Uncle Ryo's taste in bikes is superb. So are you ready to ride?"

She Jumped behind me and hugged me from behind.

"Anytime"

She whispers to my ears.

The night's still young but there doesn't seem to be any traffic at all in this small serene town. Going towards the direction that Nami pointed, I cruise along the road. Now that there's a passenger behind me, I totally change my stance on the bike. IT'S A VERY VERY GOOD BIKE. HOLY MOTHER OF GOD. WHOEVER DESIGNED THIS IS A GENIUS! WHY? Because I can feel Melons behind my back. The Vibration I said before, NOW THAT IS A FEATURE!

Ah getting sidetracked for a moment. It seems that It's just as I feared, she's trying to take me somewhere huh. I noticed that some time ago, thick fog was starting to converge to our area. Damn I should have paid more attention. No time to regret it now

"The Fog's getting thicker, are you sure this is the way to your home?"

"Of Course! I can even go back blindfolded!"

She said with a matter of fact tone.

"AH! Stop Here!"

She shouted and pointed me towards the side of the road. When I look closer it seems like there's a small pavement by the side of the road. I don't even know where I am right now. She's taken me through a lot of turns and strange terrains. If someone would've told me that I've crossed halfway throughout the prefecture I wouldn't doubt them.

As she breaks away from her hug. She stepped towards the neatly arranged pavement and gestures towards me.

"Aren't you coming?"

Her voice is alluring, unbelievably so.

"I think I should head back, it's quite late already"

"No, I insist"

As she held my hand. Leaving me with a little choice, I parked my bike on the side of the road and proceeded to follow Nami.

Romulus, you there?

[By your side]

As I walk following her through the thick fog, following the pavement. I started to feel a bit light headed. The fog is unnaturally thick. I can't even make out what's in front of me. If not for the hand holding me I would've been lost. Eh? Wait? My hand is not being held anymore.

Romulus, you feel anything

[The fog is natural, so this must be a work of weather altering magic or divinity.]

Hmmm it's not magical? How come it obstructs our vision like so. Walking forward slowly, I prepared myself for the worse, my senses heightened. Only then I started to realize, the pavement was still under me. So, following it will most likely lead me either back to the entrance or wherever Nami wanted me to be. Seeing no other way out I decided to just follow it.

I suddenly sensed a presence in my flank, wasting no breath, I immediately took a stance and sent out a jab.

The Jab connected. My fist hit something metallic. When I saw what I hit It almost made me freak out. It's a shadow, a basic kind. It has an orb-like body with a huge tongue.

Romulus!

After downing the shadow, I took no time to readjust myself, gathering a bit of mana in my hand and stabbing it with my hand. It gives out a pained cry before it disappears.

[Your awareness needs work.]

Not now Romulus.

Shortly after the first shadow disappears, I can hear and 'feel' a lot of movement in my proximity. Coating both my hands with mana, I took my fighting stance. It's Romulus most preferred fighting stance, [Slaying of a Hundred heads - Roman Style] the ART of using one's fist as if it's a spear, It's sharp, precise, and deadly.

[insert battle music]

Several high pitched screeches are produced by the shadow, one after another, shortly after, I can see a whole group of the Hablerie (orb-like shadow with tongue), flies just above me, flocking towards me like I'm the prey.

"Are you guys just gonna fly around and make me wait?"

As If they understood what I just said, They immediately rushed at me Zerg style. Huh a human wave tactic, it would've worn somebody down, but too bad for them. I swung my mana powered fist forward like delivering a straight. The condensed mana fires forward, like a plasma cannon going off, It destroys everything in its path. Leaving a hole in the shadow wave.

Romulus!

[Vorpal Blade!]

Immediately a spear intent could be felt, and with a wave of his hand Romulus sent out multiple energy waves Horizontally, it decimated everything in its path. That should deal a lot of damage to the shadow wave. I immediately rushed forward, through the gap that Romulus made, to the center of the wave, or at least as close as I could. Why?

Romulus!

[Megidolaon!]

Immediately, the whole area is covered in a white light. This AOE spell deals severe almighty damage. The surrounding area Shook as my spell was fired off. I can feel that the original number has been shaved by more than half.

The other half of the shadow wave is busy trying to organize themselves and starting to use a new strategy: casting magics. Huh I didn't know that it needed time to cast. In the battlefield, no one will wait for you to cast you know.

"IF You guys won't make a move, then ALLOW ME!"

I overcharge my mana that's gathering in my hand.

ROMULUS!

["SHOOTING OF A HUNDRED HEADS ROMAN STYLE! "]

I held my hand in front of me like firing a kamehameha, a huge beam red in color, eradicating the remaining shadows, this technique is a deviated from the legend of hercules where he, firing a hundred arrows, which is deadlier than getting shot by a tank shell, eradicates his enemies.

"Finally, took you quite a while"

There she was waiting for me, hovering a few meters above ground wearing what seemed like shrine maiden clothes.

"Kept you waiting huh?"

I always wanted to say that.
