6 The Cram School

(Mephisto): "Now try it out. Just take a random door and open it with a key.

Saying this he jumped over the railing. Hey!

(Mephisto): "There's no need to worry. Just hurry up and use the key."

I looked over the edge and see him there pointing at a door underneath where I am. Honestly that was scary seeing a dog jump over the edge there.

I, like a normal person, chose to take the stairs instead of jumping over the railings.

I got down and inserted the key into the lock, and boom, I open the door.

(Rin): "Whoa!"

That was the only thing I could say. When I entered I feel like I'm in a different countries castle or palace.

The walls are tall with different coloured patterns all over them and with stained glass windows everywhere.

(Mephisto): "Now first years have class in room 1106."

Room 1106. I wonder how many classes they have here?

(Mephisto): "Here we are."

We walked for about a minute until we saw a door with the number 1106 on it. So this is the class door, huh.

(Rin): "Oh boy, I'm starting to feel nervous again."

Unlike with my previous class, these are people I know about but they don't know anything about me. I need to make a good first impression else it's gonna be a repeat of blue exorcist again.

I opened the massive door and entered the classroom with the Principal in his dog form.

First impressions: it's a mess. The classroom is in ruins with the windows, walls, tables looking worn out.

In the classroom there's seven students at first glance it looks like 5 males and 2 females but I can sense something else in the room.

Make that multiple things. If I remember correctly this classroom is home to Goblins, so this must be their presence I'm feeling right now.

And great, everyones staring at me.

(Rin): "N-nice to meet you. My name is Rin Okumura."

I went over to the two girls sitting near the entrance of the door and introduced myself whilst giving a small bow. I hope they don't get creeped out by me.

(paku): "Please to meet you, Okumura-kun. My name is Noriko Paku."

I got a reply from a girl, whose about a head shorter than me, who also stood up and returned the bow. Wow, she has a soft voice.

She has short, chin length brown hair and small dark purplish eyes. She wearing the standard school uniform, which consists of a white coloured shirt with the Academy's standard tie tied into a very large bow, a cream coloured blazer with pink on the top part, pink skirt, white thigh high socks and black shoes.

(kamiki): "Nice to meet you. My name is Izumo Kamiki."

In an unenthusiastic voice, the other girl replied, she has long dark purple hair in twintails, dark red eyes and oval shaped eyebrows, she's also wearing the standard academy uniform however instead of a bow she has the regular tie and she's wearing black knee high socks.

Oh boy, bitch girls here.

(Yukio): "All right quiet down, take your seats, everyone. The lessons about to begin."

Well I have already done my introductions to these two so I was about to go ahead to someone until I heard Yukio's voice. I guess Sensei's here already.

As soon as he entered the classroom everyone sat down.

I sat down in front of Kamiki and Paku and the lesson began. In the manga Rin freaked out when he realised his brother was his teacher, I just find it amusing this situation is happening to me instead.

(Yukio): "Nice to meet you all. My name is Yukio Okumura and I'm a new teacher here. I will be teaching you Anti-Demon Pharmacology starting today."

(kamiki): "Nice to meet you, Okumura-sensei."

(Paku): "Pleased to meet you, sir."

(Shima): "Whats up, sir?"

Everyone greeted Yukio in there own way.

(Yukio): "Now, as you can see, I am the same age as all of you and this will be my first year lecturing. However, unlike you, I have already studied the art of Exorcism for two years. As such, in the context of your exorcism studies, I would like you to call me "sensei".

Yukio started introducing himself and his role as an exorcist. That guy... He's really knows how to act... Or should I say smiling?

(Yukio): "Now then how many of you have never sustained a Mashou? Raise your hands."

Yukio asked the question of who received a Mashou, a wound from a Demon. Being hit by a Demon or being exposed to Demonic energy causes a Mashou, which makes normal people able to see Demons for the rest of their life. Its something every aspiring Exorcist must go through. Since i'm a half Demon I can see them, although only after I awakened my powers.

(Yukio): "Three of you... Well, then, I think we should begin this first lesson by covering the Mashou rite."

(Rin): "Hey, Mephisto, why's my brother a teacher in the first place?"

I already know of the reason in the manga, he was to replace father and somehow get me to fight the goblins, but I'm curious on how Mephisto will respond.

(Mephisto): "You see, Okumura-sensei over there is the youngest person ever to obtain the Exorcist Qualification, a genius Anti-Demon Pharmacologist that graduated 2 years ago. As we were short in staff I had Okumura-sensei become a teacher."

Hmm congrats Yukio. This guy… Is he trying to provoke me into having an argument with Yukio? I mean it worked with Rin before, but wont work on me.

(Yukio): "Now this classroom we are using is actually not in general use. It is currently home to a type of Demon known as 'Goblins'."

(Paku): "Huh?! Is... Is that really okay...?"

(Yukio): "Oh, we'll be fine. Goblins tend to avoid bright areas populated with humans. They are a low-level type of Demon, only possessing enough power to cause minor mischief and so they are relatively easy to handle."

And the information dump commences.

(Yukio): "However, if they catch the scent of rotten animal blood they become agitated and ferocious. Today, I am going to use a mixture of milk, which the Goblins are fond of. I will dilute the blood in ten parts milk and use a single drop of the resulting liquid to draw out a few Goblins and have them aid us in our rite. So could you all wait for a moment whilst I set this up."

Yukio started explaining the procedures whilst setting it up. When it was done the students who put their hands up: Paku, a boy named Ryuji Suguro and Yamada stood up. They went towards Yukio where the Mashou ceremony was commencing. The ceremony looks simple enough, Yukio attracted a few Goblins using the smell of the mixture and they were used to inflict minor wound into the students.

(Rin): "Hmm?"

When it was Paku's turn the Goblin that was gonna inflict the wound suddenly went wild. It climbed at her arm and bit her.

(Rin): "Look out!"

(Paku): "Aaaah!"

Before anyone can do anything she tried to get rid of the goblin by throwing her arms around, throwing the goblin into the containers with blood.

(Suguru): "Urgh that stinks!"

This is not gonna end well, is it?

As soon as I thought that I felt the other presence feel agitated. Shit they're gonna attack.

(Rin): "Everyone run!"

As soon as I said that the pipes above us exploded and all the Goblins started attacking. Luckily Yamada, Kamiki and Suguru are near the entrance so they can leave easily, but Paku's on the floor and it doesn't look like she's getting up anytime soon.

I ran towards paku. A goblin was gonna attack her and Yukio hasn't even got his guns out.

I grabbed the goblin by the tail and threw it to another Goblin that was gonna attack Paku.

Damn these little guys are annoying.

*Bang* *Bang*

Yukio finally reacted and dealt the finishing blow to the Goblins with his pistols.

(Yukio): "Everyone, out of the classroom! They are weak, but many in number and they have been driven into a frightful rage. I must apologise this was my mistake"

Yukio tries to calm the class down and evacuate them whilst I deal with Paku. Since she still hasn't gotten up I take it upon myself to princess carry her.

(Paku): "Huh?"

When she finally realised what's happening I already brought her to kamiki.

(Rin): "Look after her, ok?"

I say that and run back to the classroom. That was the first wave and more will come soon after, but whilst I'm still here, why not use this chance and make up with Yukio? I mean that's what happened in the anime soo...

(Rin): "Yukio, let me help."

(Yukio): "Oh really? How exactly?"

Yep should've known something like this would've happened.

(Rin): "Ugh, with my fist?"

Yeah I didn't think this through.

(Yukio): "Nii-san I'm rather busy right now, so can you not disturb me?"

As we are speaking Yukio and I are dealing with the Goblin. Yukio is using his dual pistols whilst I'm just using my fist, since I left my sword near my desk when I tried saving paku. That's when I got an idea.

(Rin): "Gods dwell in my fist! Demons dwell in my heart!"

It was the same chant Kyodo-san used when the monastery was attacked. He told me the chant before we left the monastery and gave me a piece of paper with the magic circle on it. The paper is in the palm of my fist right now, making my fist radiate with a light and giving me enough power to one punch the goblins.

This is... Actually fun. I feel the rush that I've never felt before and it gets better for every demon I exorcise.

(Rin): "See, Yukio. I can be of use. Now let me help!"

(Yukio): "Fine."

Seeing as there's no need to worry about me, Yukio lets me off. Now let's start the convo.

(Rin): "So Yukio, since you've known all along, how did you feel? and what do you think about me?"

(Yukio): "About you? Is that not obvious? You're a Demon, Nii-san. I consider you a danger to us all."

Ouch straight to the point, huh?

(Yukio): "You utter fool, Nii-san. Why did you come up with this ridiculous idea of becoming an Exorcist? Revenge? Some kind of twisted sense of atonement towards father?"

Yukio is on a rant now. This guy is seriously pissing me off right now.

(Yukio): "If so if you truly have the nerve to feel that way then you should give yourself up to orders headquarters or just die, please."

Mother fucker! I slowly start getting angry the more Yukio speaks.

(Rin): "You really think I'm stupid enough to give myself to the Order?! What?! Your pushing all the blame on me for killing our father?! You guys should've told me I was a fucking Demon then I would've been mentally prepared!"

(Yukio): "Do you deny killing father? Father spent all these long years protecting you! I should know. I watched it all. Father was the ultimate exorcist. Father would never have allowed Satan to invade his body like that. Not without some fatal blow to his mind."

As Yukio said that I started getting flashbacks to that scene again. Before father was possessed and what I said.

(Rin): "Don't you ever act like you're my father again!"

I really am stupid.

(Yukio): "You said something didn't you? If father could ever be said to have a weakness, then that weakness is you Nii-san"

Yukio pointed the gun at me. At this point I'm raging. I don't know how Rin forgave this guy but I know I can't.

(Rin): "Your telling me to die because I've been lied to for most of my life! Yes father was killed because of what I did but isn't both sides to blame for what happened?!"

At this moment my flames started appearing. I'm pissed. I'm pissed at Yukio for pointing the gun, blaming everything on me and for the mistakes I made.

(Rin): "Let me say one thing. If you think something like that will help you get revenge or feel better. Then fucking shoot!"

Yukio is distracted with me and doesn't notice a Giant Hobgoblin behind.

(Rin): "Fuck off!"

I ran behind him as quick as I could. I didn't notice it at that time but It looked like I teleported when that happened. I grabbed the Goblin trying to attack Yukio with my arms wide out.

(Yukio): "Wha-?"

(Rin): "I don't know who you think I am but I'm not gonna fight my own brother."

I'm pissed at him but I'm not gonna fight him. He has his own reasons to hate me and there's nothing I can do about it.

(Yukio): "... Fathers last moments... What were they like?"

(Rin): "He was badass. He died protecting me. And it's not because I want to get revenge or anything like that that I decided to become an Exorcist..."

Afterall I just want to live in this world and survive.

(Rin): "... I just want to become stronger and live happily, and maybe look back at these memories someday and laugh at them."

(Yukio): "In that case I too became an Exorcist because I simply wanted to become stronger."

(Rin): "Then that makes us even"

I'm glad we can sort this out. Well for now. After I know for a fact that this peace doesn't last that long…
