43 Envy

After the concert was over, people started getting up from their seats one by one as they either tried heading back home or to go to the meet and greet area 'Nekohime' mentioned before.

(Rin): "That. Was. Awesome!"

I couldn't hold myself as soon as we left the concert, I started talking about how amazing her singing was, about the whole concert and even bragged to the kids that only we know who Nekohime really is.

(Kage): "Kaa-sama is amazing."

(Midori): "I know right! I wanna go to more of her concerts!"

(Kage): "We should go to her next one."

My kids also agreed with my opinion. Something about knowing the real 'Nekohime' and the fact that she lives with us makes it even better. I see why she has that lazy appearance now. She sorta has a double life to deal with her fans. I almost couldn't recognise her, that's how mad the change was!

Though I won't fanboy about it in front of her else she'll get chummy. Don't wanna simp for her after all.

(Kuro): "If things go well, we can have her treat us to another performance."

Kuro says that whilst giving Midori a look. They both seem to have agreed upon something before nodding their heads. These kids...

(Rin): "I saw that look."

(Kuro and Midori): "Ouch!"

I pull their ears feeling a little annoyed about what they were thinking about but I let go of them after they started apologising. I don't think I can get angry at these kids for too long but I still need to discipline them a little. This is getting a little out of hand after all.

(Rin): "Hmm, Naneko won't be here for a while and it's too early to worry about Cram School."

I looked at the sun's position before telling everyone. I'd imagine Naneko wants to leave with everyone here so let's wait for a few hours, though I might be late for cram school. Skipping a lesson won't be bad, right? Lessons are starting to get boring thanks to the pocket dimension.

(Akane): "Should we explore the city a little while we wait?"

Akane suggests before giving Kuro a meaningful look. I was about to agree with her suggestions but Kuro beat me to it.

(Kuro): "Good idea mother. I'll take Midori and Kage to the park and stuff. You and father go on a little date."

Kuro says as if he had a lightbulb effect on his head before grabbing his siblings hands as if to finalise that decision.

(Rin): "You little brat…"

He doesn't miss his opportunities huh. Hmm, let's see, shall I get revenge by giving him no dessert for a week?

(Rin): "You okay with that idea?"

Seeing as they're already set on this, I don't see why not to go through with it even though I'm a little worried for the kids to wander around in a new area. I keep forgetting that they're not ordinary kids. They're able to look after themselves if they're in trouble.

Actually, that's probably why I'm worried about them.

(Akane): "Yep, no problems here."

Akane doesn't seem to mind it as she wraps her arms around my arm. Wait, when did she take her bandages off? Now I can feel the heat from her arms as well as 'them' on me. They're surprisingly big compared to what her hoodie shows.

(Rin): "Haaah fine. Here, treat yourselves to some snacks. If you find something you like, be sure to tell me later so I can make some of them."

I sigh to myself before taking out a 10,000 yen note and giving it to Kuro, who seems to be in charge of the little group. Though I did give him a little glare when I handed it to him which gave him a jolt.

(Midori): "Awesome! Hey big bro, can we buy some cakes?"

(Kage): "I would like some muffins, please, Kuro Nii-chan."

(Kuro): "A-alright, we'll be back here in 2-3 hours. We can mental link if something happens."

Kage and Midori seemed excited for the money that they didn't notice the glare I gave to Kuro, meanwhile, Kuro definitely felt it. Hehe, go buy some sweets. I'll make sure to make them and not let you eat any!

(Midori and Kage): "Have fun with your date~!"

The two kids said cheerfully as they ran ahead with Kuro behind them. Even those two...

(Rin): "These kids are relentless."

Actually, It's not fair to make only Kuro suffer, even though he's the source of it all. As a father of three, I need to be impartial with my punishment. Yes, desserts shall be restricted for these little demons of mine.

(Akane): "Ehehe, I find it cute."

Akane doesn't seem to mind what's happening as she simply waves them goodbye.

(Rin): "You're not weirded out that they want you as their mum? They even want Naneko as their mum too, the greedy little kids."

I wouldn't be surprised if she disliked me for having kids like these. Afterall, no girl would want to share their boyfriend. Unless they're a special case. But then again, we aren't in a relationship, though it's very ambiguous. I like Akane and Naneko, but I can't choose both, can I?

(Akane): "I don't see why I should? I think the more the merrier."

… And I've found a special case here. The worst part is I can't tell if she's being serious or not. Well, if she is, then I guess I should grab that offer?

(Rin): "Yep, I'm surrounded by weirdos."

I sighed to myself wondering how something like this happens. I guess I don't have a reason to hate it though. I just don't want to be heartbroken, I guess.

(Akane): "Yep, and you've tamed one here with more to come. Now let's go exploring!"

Akane says enthusiastically as she sticks her body closer to me as she points her finger towards the main road. How's she a bigger kid than the rest of my kids?

(Rin): "Okay, okay, I'm still worried about the kids though."

Putting the harem talk aside, I'm still being a worrywart. I'll never get used to this feeling, will I? I can't stop thinking about the worst for the kids. What if they meet a flasher? Even if they're physically strong, that'd still scar them!

(Akane): "Don't worry, Okage, Okuro and Okudori are big kids. I even taught them how to deal with suspicious strangers if they bother them."

Akane seemed to understand what I was thinking as she said with a gentle voice. I guess even she has a motherly side huh. No, I knew that when she was comforting Midori. I guess I'm just stupid.

(Rin): "Wow, you're just as bad as me in naming things."

(Akane): "Shut up, smartass. You try thinking of some then if you think you can do better."

I tried changing the subject a little to help improve my mood whilst silently thanking Akane. I feel much better knowing that she's taught them, although I'm curious about what exactly that was. She has androphobia so what idea advice could it be other than violence?

Oh well, I'll deal with it somehow if it happens.

(Akane): "Anyway, can't you just teleport to them if they're in trouble?"

(Rin): "I could, but I'd rather be low-key with my abilities. It's still too soon for them to be revealed."

(Akane): "Hmm, sounds like a shounen manga. If I didn't know you I would've thought you were an edgelord"

(Rin): "Maybe it is a shounen manga, and fuck you."

I don't mind revealing my powers soon, I'm just not in the mood to deal with the aftermath just yet. Plus it might attract other demon cults too soon. Though I'm not afraid of using my flames if I have to.

(Rin): "Anyway, where are you taking me?"

I asked Akane after noticing we're in the middle of the commercial street. We've been walking for quite a while now and went past multiple shops.

(Akane): "My instincts are telling me to go there."

(Rin): "Instincts?"

I questioned Akane before looking at the shop she was looking at. I had signs all over its wooden walls as various food items where display. A ramen store.

(Rin): "Oh, your stomach."

Guess I should've expected it. The girls didn't get to order their food because of those college students getting in there way. Man, girls have it rough. I wonder if Naneko's hungry as well?

(Akane): "Don't worry, I got my own cash so I can pay for myself."

Akane seemed to have misunderstood what I meant before showing me her wallet with a skull logo on it. Ooo, that design looks cool..

(Rin): "That's an awesome design and you sure? This is our first date after all."

I may not look it, but I've made a good amount of money working at my food store. Splurging every once in a while isn't bad after all.

(Akane): "I'm glad you consider this as a date. But it's fine, I rather pay for your home-cooked meals instead of ramen shops. You should open up a restaurant one day, you'd definitely at the top of the restaurants in no time."

I'm in shock. I remember the girls in my past life always talking about their boyfriends as a living wallet, so when I heard Akane say that, I didn't know how to reply.

(Rin): "I'm glad you like my food that much."

I say that with a genuine smile as I feel like cheeks feel a little warm. I guess that's the best I could say as we entered the Ramen shop. It had a simple design with not too many people inside so we easily got a table to ourselves. Since I haven't been here before, I just ordered whatever Akane had. This'll be my first time eating ramen!

(Akane): "Of course! I can't cook but I always look at you whenever you're making the meals. You have a certain aura when you cook which makes you look cool."

Eh? She was looking at me? I always go full concentration mode when I cook so my detection abilities are even worse than usual, huh. I feel a little bad for being that careless.

(Rin): "Is that so? I feel a little embarrassed that you were looking at me and I never noticed."

I guess I'm getting the experience of being stalked by a Yandere? Although I doubt Akane would become like that considering she ain't the jealous type. Though she does seem like the crazy type.

We had random talks about food and finalised when I'd start teaching Akane and other students who are interested in learning how to cook but with a small fee. Having this as a weekend class or something would help earn us more money after all.

(Akane): "So what's your opinion of Nano?"

After our ramens finally arrived, Akane suddenly asked a random question whilst slurping on some noodles. About Naneko, huh.

(Rin): "Naneko? Well, she gives off the lazy student vibes and always has bad bed hair that makes her look like she's always sleeping, but other than that she's a good person who helps me study, crazy good at singing, cooking and when she fixes her appearance, she looks better than some pop idols. Thinking about the lazy girl at our dorm as someone this huge makes me laugh a little. I guess fixing your hairstyle makes people look at you completely differently."

Though it does annoy me a little that such a lazy student is at the top of her class. Luckily she helps me out with my homework whenever I find something difficult.

(Akane): "Hmm? That was a mouthful but Nano is amazing. I'm not jealous of her because I can tell how rough it is dealing with that many people. I'd suffocate if I was a part of her line of work."

Akane says that with a proud expression as if she was the one being praised. Those two have a really good relationship with each other. I'm sorta jealous, but I know it was formed during their toughest times at the orphanage.

I wonder if I'd be different if I had someone like them during those times too…? Oh well.

(Akane): "What about Tsuno, Sono and A-chel? What do you think of them?"

Wow, she needs help for naming things, not like I could do any better, and goddamn, why is this becoming an interrogation all of a sudden.

(Rin): "Kirihime, Sora and Chelsea? Jeez, you need help with names, but anyway, I'm not sure about them. Kirihime seems distant and mysterious but I've seen her treat my kids well so I'm sure she's not a bad person.

Sora's been a huge help for me in controlling my physical strength. Without her, I probably would've crushed those guys shoulders earlier. Not to mention she's a funny girl with her cute sides.

As for Chelsea, she's been a help for my swords training. I think her work ethic is cute. I have a hard time dedicating myself to something without getting distracted but Chelsea's able to motivate me into getting better. I just wish she'd smile more often, it's a waste not to but she probably has her reason."

When I recalled the 3 girls, I realised just how different they are from the crowd. Kirihime is the silent and mysterious type but she's kind to my kids, I'm pretty sure my kids are closer to her than I am to her. That sorta makes me want to get closer to her even though I have no clue how to. At the same time, I'm wary of her because I can't tell if she's a demon or not. Something about her is odd and I don't know how to deal with her until I find out

For Sora, she's boyish if anything, but she does have her charms. I wasn't joking when I said I could've broken the man's shoulder. Dealing with that would've been a pain to deal with and just like with Kirihime, I want to get closer to her too. Plus she's stupidly good with games and we have our usual banter with each other.

As for Chelsea, she's usually stoic but she has times she relaxes and smiles like when she has sweets. I've actually been making some sweets for her for the sake of seeing her smile more often. That's usually after we train as a little payment for helping me train.

(Akane): "Tsuno's not really a talker, but she's a sweet girl. I think you'd find her cute. As for Sono, she pretends to be tough and strong but she's quite gentle and soft. A-chel is more of a lone wolf type but got dragged to the club by Sono. She has her moments of showing her true sides, but she keeps hiding them as if she's scared to reveal them."

Hmm, seems like Akane's been studying them too. I wonder how Chelsea got dragged by Sora though? I guess I'll ask her when I visit her kid brother.

(Akane): "Anyway, what about the Cram School girls?"

Hold up a second, why's she only asking about the girls I know? At least ask about the guys so your intentions don't leak out.

(Rin): "Oi, why are you asking only about the girls I know? What about the guys at the clubroom?"

Why do I feel like I'm getting interrogated by my girlfriend now?

(Akane): "I don't talk to them often and they don't interest me. I can barely look them in the eyes after al.l"

Akane says that bluntly like a child not caring about any serious matters. Damn, poor Yanno and the lads. They don't get enough screen time.

(Rin): "A little blunt huh."

(Akane): "I can't help it."

Akane says with a shrug as she munches down on some more noodles.

(Rin): "I guess that's true. Anyway, I think they're all good girls. They each have their own charm and interests which makes me want to tease them all. Izumo is blunt and annoying, but she has her moments of cuteness like when she's embarrassed. Noriko seems to be the older sister of the group and can somehow control Izumo, but she has her cute sides too like when she almost passed out from studying. Shiemi's just Shiemi. She's clumsy, cheerful, and always does her best in everything. The type of people that makes you want to pat them for their hard work."

When I recall how much they've changed compared to canon, I'm curious how big the butterfly effects will be thanks to my involvement. I just hope it won't be an annoying one. If it gets them stronger, then I'm happy.

(Akane): "Ah, so that's why. You all went to a study session too."

Akane says that whilst finishing the rest of her bowl. I wasn't worried about this ruining her dinner since I already know about her usual eating habits. This is considered as an appetiser before the main meal for us demons.

(Rin): "Anyway, are you done interrogating me now?"

I asked after picking up my bowl to drink the broth. It had a sour and savoury taste that made me question how they've made this. Maybe I should try making myself some homemade ramen for the kids too?

Well, after I punish them with a week of no sweets.

(Akane): "For now I guess."

After finishing our talk, we quickly handed our bowls to the counter before heading out. I wonder why she suddenly asked about the girls? She can't seriously be on board with the kid's harem plan, right?

(Akane): "Alright, let's continue exploring!"

(Rin): "Okay okay."

Akane grabbed my arm before walking us out. I guess I'll worry about that later and enjoy hanging out with Akane. We visited different stores, looking at the items on display but we didn't buy anything. Even so, just walking around with Akane was surprisingly fun. I got to see different sides to her today like her playful side and her shy side.

(Rin): "That was fun."

We ended our 'exploring' at a nearby park. Since it's still spring, it's already starting to get dark. I wonder how the kids are enjoying their day?

(Akane): "Yeah it was, let's have a little spar to end it off."

Akane says with a crazy smile before looking at me with a look of expectation. Haah, this battle maniac… Though that does sound fun. Some exercise would do good.

(Rin): "Been a while, huh. You used to just attack me at a moment's notice."

I agreed before doing some stretches to warm up my body. It was thanks to that week of random attacks from her that I was able to improve at a fast rate. Though it'd usually be because I was super bad at games so that made me try harder to improve in both gaming and dodging. She and Sora are such fps game fanatics.

(Akane): "Yeah, I lose it whenever I find someone who seems challenging or interesting."

Akane says whilst performing the sitting hamstring stretch. At least she's admitting to it. Though it makes me a little worried if she'd start fighting some of the bigshots in the future. Would she start fighting Satan just because he was the top dog?

I can actually imagine it… Let's give Akane some common sense before that happens.

(Rin): "Did you do the same thing to Chelsea and the others too?"

I wonder if Kasamugi and Sae had to go through that as well? Though I've never seen her fight anyone other than me and Chelsea.

(Akane): "Yep, but I can never beat A-chel in a spar though. As for pres and eyepatch, I sparred with them a few times before getting bored. They're strong, but really passive which drains the enjoyment from the battles. You at least aren't afraid of hitting a woman."

My mouth twitched when I heard what Akane said. Oi, you make it sound like I hit people for no reason.

(Rin): "Oi you battle crazy bitch, don't make it sound like I'm an abusive person. If I get attacked, I should attack back, shouldn't I?"

It's something I decided after coming to this world after all. I'm not the same passive guy from before who couldn't protect himself. Not to mention to attacked me first!

(Akane): "Sorry, sorry, but that's what makes our fights fun. I've never seen A-chel go full power though. I'd love to see that if it's possible."

Akane says the beginning whilst sticking her tongue in a joking tone. A full-power fight huh. For some reason that annoyed me a little because I'm too afraid of going overboard and accidentally killing someone whereas Akane wants a fight to the death for the thrill of it.

(Rin): "Let's hope we never see that happen. Though she may get close to doing it if you try stealing her sweets."

(Akane): "Hehehe, now I know how to annoy her. I seriously need to find her secret stash of sweets."

(Rin): "Haha, try not to make a huge scene or a mess."

I only said that as a joke but looks like she's gonna do it. Rest in peace Chelsea's sweet stash, it had nothing to do with me. I silently prayed to Chelsea's future loss before stepping back a few steps to get into our fighting stances.

(Akane): "Let's go!"

Akane says that with a childish smile as she lunges at me with her Kodachi's. I blocked her attack with my Bokken before performing a sidestep to dodge her kick. We fought intending to train the other parts of our body too, like our shoulders, elbows and knees for example, as we enjoyed our dance while the sun was setting.

(Rin): "You got better at your defence!"

(Akane): "I can't always be aggressive like I want to! This is fun too!"

Akane and I yelled as the dull sound of our weapons hit each other. Akane had a crazy smile on her face as it turned blushed from excitement as I had my own smile dealing with the crazy girl in front of me.

(Akane and Rin): "!!!"

While we were engrossed in our fun, we felt a sudden demonic energy coming towards us as we narrowly jumped backwards to avoid it.

(Akane): "A water spear?"

The thing that was sent towards us was a water-like javelin stick that's now wedged into the ground. For a water-based attack, that looks sharp. Can't I get a break for once? Looks like another annoying demon has appeared.

(Rin): "It came from up there."

I say that as I look at the top of one of the buildings near the park. I can see a pale-skinned man with blonde hair combed back with blue eyes standing there. He's wearing a red suit with the same coloured trousers, a black undershirt and a red tie, making him give me the weird rich-class vibes. I'm not gonna like him, am I?

The man notices my look before giving me a smile that gives off an arrogant vibe to it. Something like 'I'm above you, so be glad I gave you a smile' kind of feeling. Looks like my guess was right.

"Hello, a pleasure to make your acquaintances."

The mysterious man suddenly jumped off the building but at a much lower velocity than what either of us expected. Almost as if the laws of gravity didn't work on him. Gravity manipulation? He gave us a greeting that made my stomach turn considering his earlier attack.

(Rin): "Cut the chit chat and explain why you attacked us."

I'm already annoyed about being interrupted in my spar. A good spar is like a cooking session for me. Interrupt me and I'm annoyed. I don't want to deal with a random asshole playing his pranks.

"Well, first I'd like to introduce mysel-"

(Rin): "Nope, I don't care. State your reasons already."

I interrupted the demon since I couldn't care about formalities or whatever procedure he wants to go through. I know we're gonna fight anyway so I rather not hear the villain's main speech segment.

Plus I'm literally holding myself from beating the shit out of him

"Hahaha, someones a little high on their pedestal, aren't they? Lemme take it down a notch!"

The blond-haired guy laughed to himself like a mental person before sending out a water blade towards me and Akane. We easily dodged the attacks before jumping away from the ground caving in. Looks like I pissed off ass-bag over here.

"Ooo, a fast one, aren't ya?"

The blonde-haired man says that as he suddenly appears in front of me. Shit. He's fast!

(Rin): "Ugh!"

I couldn't even see him, let alone have any time to defend myself, as I got sent rolling out of the park and into the streets. I got up straight after and wiped the dirt off my face before looking at him.

(Envy): "Hahaha, I, Envy, will make mincemeat out of you!"

The blonde-haired guy walked to the street too as he announced himself whilst releasing some demonic pressure over my body. Envy huh… Fun.

(Rin): "Oh, do forgive my earlier rudeness. You're the bastard that's part of that Glps Ewg organisation, aren't you?"

I got up after cleaning the dust off of my clothes as I got a better look at the man. His smile irked me, but this time I was able to get used to it. So this is one of the members of that group that's been annoying me lately.

(Envy): "I am more than just a mere memb-"

(Rin): "On second thought I don't want to hear your voice."

Envy tried talking about himself but I didn't let him as I summoned Kurikara and ran towards him. Something about his voice annoys me because it always sounds like he's showing off about something I don't care about.

Envy reacted to my strike as he moved to his right side to dodge. I stamp on my left leg and hit him with my left shoulder with enough force to send him flying back to the park. I didn't let the chance up as I ran towards Envy again who's still confused on how he got sent flying as I decapitated him.

(Rin): "...."

Something didn't feel right… That was way too easy for an Emperor. Yep, too anti-climatic. I looked at Envy's body that was without a head as it began turning into dust.

(Akane): "Well, that was easier than I thought. Too bad I couldn't join in on the fun."

Akane says that with a disappointed face as I gave her a little smile but that quickly changed when I felt the faint presence of demonic energy coming from behind her. I quickly grabbed her body as I jumped to the right to avoid a hydro pump-like attack.

(Akane): "Thanks for the sa- ouch!"

I gave Akane a little head chop for her earlier words. If you're gonna have last words, make it either comedic or inspiring at least.

(Rin): "Never say those words until you're 100% certain. Actually, just don't say them in general and avoid the flag altogether."

I rather not test the power of flags in an anime world. If I see someone with the hairstyle of death, I'll shave their hair off if I have to.

(Akane): "O-okay…"

Akane saves as she rubs where I hit her before making a thinking a thoughtful look.

(Rin): "Anyway, let's see what this guy is doing now."

I looked back at Envy who's body still seems to be reforming as part of him is brown and dusty. He sorta reminds me of the dried-up playdough the kids have. Even his clothes are affected by that skill, interesting.

(Envy): "You bastard and that bastard's daughter managed to dodge that attack, huh. Try this one out for size!"

Envy lashes out at us as this time, a white substance gets secreted from his fingertips and gets fired at us with enough force to knock over a car. Luckily we were able to dodge in time but RIP car owner-san.

The annoying sound of the car alarm rings in the background as Akane and I get ourselves in a little dodgeball game with Envy. Bastards daughter huh...

(Rin): "Hmm? I don't remember adopting you. Did I?"

I say that whilst dodging the ball of what I think is a spider's web, giving Akane a confused look too.

(Akane): "You seriously cracking shit jokes like that in the middle of a fight?"

Akane nearly fell over from my joke as I helped her dodge one of the web attacks. I can't help it. Jokes, whether they're good or bad, need to be played when called for.

(Rin): "Of course, else where's the fun?"

I say that as I use Kurikara to block the remainder of Envy's attacks. His attacks remind me of Ai apaec, the tarantula demon I fought when Yanno got possessed, but these webs are of lower quality. I don't even need to burn them to break free.

(Rin): "But seriously, he seems to know something about your parents."

His vocabulary for insults seems limited though. I wonder what Akane's parents have done for him to get angry at their daughter like this?

(Akane): "...I know..."

Akane looks down as she seems a little conflicted. I guess she's conflicted on whether she wants to know about her parents or not. I can understand, but too bad we don't have the luxury to mull over it.

(Rin): "Getting answers from him won't be easy to get huh."

I say that as we both jump up from a water pillar below our feet. So webs and water… Also that crazy speed from earlier. What kind of Demon is he anyway? Surely the symbol of Envy doesn't have this many unique skills. It feels off.

(Envy): "Aren't you an annoying bastard. Take this!"

Again with the limited vocab. I mumbled to myself as I dodged another web attack. I feel sorry for whoever's gonna be cleaning up with the mess, the park looks like a giant spiders nest.

I'd like to end this already but I can't get close to him without getting hit by these webs. I can burn them off but I still can't let my guard down in case he has any other surprises.

(Envy): "And ignite!"

Envy says that whilst snapping his fingers as the webs started lighting up, causing the trees and the grass to burn, similar to Nezuko's demon art in demon slayers.

My mouth twitched when I saw this as I got hit with a massive amount of annoyance. Do you think these little flames can harm me?

(Rin): "Extinguish."

I say that with a low voice as I forcefully suppress the flames until they disappear, though the webs remain. Looks like they've got low-level fire resistance. This is my first time fighting a demon using fire but I feel a little insulted for some reason. If it was any other flames I would've been fine but regular flames have no effects on me!

(Rin): "I feel like you've forgotten who I am. You ready for a beat down?

I say that as I look at Envy whilst calming my annoyance down. The dickhead himself knew it annoyed me as he looked at me with his annoying smile.

How many skills does this guy have? That's why I haven't gone for the kill yet.

(Akane): "Got you!"

In the second we were looking at each other, Akane ran behind Envy to deliver a blow with her Kodatchi's. So that's why she's been quiet.

(Envy): "Don't think I didn't have my eyes on you, little bitch!"

Unfortunately, the surprise attack didn't work as Envy replied to Akane with a frown. While she was mid-air, the floor beneath her suddenly saved in before a pillar made of earth emerged and hit her in her tracks.

Luckily she managed to block most of the impact by converting her kodachi's into a blood shield, but the force on that hit still made he fly towards the spider's nest.

(Akane): "It's sticky. I'm stuck!"

Akane says as she tried getting herself out of the webs but ended up making it worse. I sighed as I look at the stupid sight where I can even see her panties. So today's red huh.

(Akane): "Enjoying the sight?"

Akane says that teasingly with annoyance in her voice. If there wasn't a demon causing havoc here and fighting us, I would've enjoyed watching her get out by herself.

(Rin): "Yep, I like the colour red anyway."

I say that with a thumbs up before burning the webs to free her. I caught her before she fell to the ground as her face turned just as red as those panties, but I refrained from mentioning that as I looked at Envy again.

So Water, Fire, Earth, Webs, that Superspeed skill and some kind of Revive/Immortality skill. He has most of the basic elements and probably has wind as a trump card, might be when he fell in slow motion unless that was part of a different skill like gravity. I need to deal with him carefully, who knows what else he has in store.

(Envy): "Hahaha, to think that bitches daughter is just as useless. Hahaha, like mother like daughter."

Envy laughs like a hysterical villain as he starts talking about Akane's mum. I didn't attack him this time since I'm curious about what he knows.

(Akane): "You… You know about my mother…?"

The adrenaline in Akane seems to have calmed her down a little as she starts hiding behind me again, but I can feel her shivering from knowing about her parents more than the fact Envy is a dude. She must be confused about what to do right now.

(Envy): "Of course I do. The slut thought she was better than me! She even picked him over me!"

Envy says that before teleporting towards us again to punch Akane. For some reason it was slower than before, making me just barely able to catch it as we locked eyes again. You kidding me?

(Rin): "Seems like you got rejected by Akane's mum. I don't want to hear your high school love triangle tragedy so get the fuck off!"

I say that as multiple Satan Slash manifested behind me, before throwing them towards Envy, who dodged all of them at the last second. I didn't let him go easily as I chased after him with a few more long-range attacks.

(Envy): "Good talk by the spawn of Satan. Now die and give me your powers!"

Envy shouts before sending out more water slicers at me as I block them with a flame shield. Did he say he wants my powers? Is that even possible? Though that'd make sense why he can use that many elements at once.

(Rin): "You're an interesting guy, but you do know I'll be killing you for interrupting our date right??"

It's not fair that he has a cheat ability like that, but he seems to be too hotheaded and stupid to make better use of them. So unfair.

(Envy): "Kuku, you think I care about your little date? I bet you never even touched a woman in your life, you virgin."

The fuck? Why're you bringing up my private life in the middle of a fight!?

(Rin): "Hey now, I'm only 16, you creep. You're at least 1000 so it'd be embarrassing if you haven't yet."

I try coming up with an excuse to the blonde even though I'm not ashamed of being a virgin. But hearing him talk about it aggravates me a little more.

(Envy): "Heh, little boy, maybe I'll enjoy that sluts daughter and the Neko girl later? Of course, I'll keep you barely alive to watch it hap-"

(Rin): "You've made a mistake, you piece of shit…"

My vision became a dark shade of blue as my flames flicker in a dark tone. I'm pissed now. He may be an idiot but he knows how to push my buttons.

(Envy): "What? Afraid of being cucked like the-"

Before the fucker could speak, my flames flickered in a silver hue as I teleported right next to him.

(Envy): "What the- Ahhhhhh!"

Envy was confused at my sudden appearance, but I didn't give them the chance to question as I condensed my flames around my fingers to make pseudo claws before cutting his arms off. I based these off of Kuro's and Naneko's claws and thought I could do the same.

(Rin): "I'm not even in the mood to play around with you. But don't worry, I'll make your death as painful as possible."

I say coldly as I send a roundhouse kick to his stomach, sending him flying as his body hits one of the buildings in the park. I watched as Envy grovelled on the floor as he struggled to stand back up without his arms.

(Envy): "We'll see about that!"

Webs started coming from Envy's wounds and his fallen arms as they slowly intertwined with each other. So fucking annoying. Both his personality and skills make me want to strangle him.

(Envy): "There's no point overthinking things. I'm just god!"

Envy says that arrogantly as he stomps on the floor causing more pillars of earth to come flying out. I jumped back to dodge the attacks but Envy planned that far ahead and sent out wind blades while I was in mid-air.

Fucks sake, I want to torture him but he's putting up a decent fight.

I lamented as I blocked his attacks with a flame shield before making my flames change from blue to black again. This time my vision turned dark, not dark blue, as I sent out a Satan Slash filled with black flames. Envy didn't seem willing to block this attack as he began running away from them. I guess he has some analysis ability too. Great.

(Envy): "Pretty flames, but you'll have to do more tha-"

Envy says before barely blocking the Satan Slash that was behind him. I learned that my black flames have an auto-lock feature, using the target's soul as a heat signature to burn. Unfortunately, it's still weak to physical things like his earth pillar but thankfully it served its purpose.

(Akane): "Only Rin can have his fun with me, you narcissistic jerk!"

Envy looks behind him to see Akane above him with a scythe made out of her blood. Akane herself was pissed, not from nearly getting killed but from what the bastard said earlier. I can't blame her though, I still want to strangle him.

(Envy): "Tch, you bitch!"

Envy tried escaping Akane's scythe by using his wind attacks but Akane was able to dodge the barrage of attacks whilst in mid-air before slicing his head in half.

(Akane): "I'm not gonna ask this time."

Akane winks at me before jumping by my side as we wait for Envy to revive again. I had breathing time to realise that Envy isn't that difficult to beat, just tricky with his regeneration. That's assuming he doesn't have any more abilities.

(Rin): "Well that's annoying. I don't want to use large Aoe attacks plus it'd make the fight end too soon."

I said to myself as I hated the fact all my moves are flashy. If I use them, the local Exorcists would find out and that'd be a headache to deal with. Well, they'll find out about the fight regardless thanks to that car alarm and the chaos here but I rather my blue flames not be found out just yet. It wasn't that long ago that I fought with the banshee after all. The Order's definitely suspicious of something related to satan after all.

(Akane): "Luckily my blood attacks are effective enough."

Akane says so with a cheeky smile as I gave her a head pat for the hard work. Looks like our training is showing fruits here. Unfortunately, it didn't take long for Envy to stand up again.

Dude, just stay down already.

(Envy): "Owww! That hurt you little bitch!"

Unsurprisingly, Envy started shouting his top off, as soon as he could use that annoying mouth again, whilst taking big steps towards us.

(Rin): "So noisy."

I say that as I ran up to Envy and gave him a pat on the back which makes him stumble over a little. Let's try out some new skills on this bastard, that way I'll feel slightly less annoyed.

(Envy): "You think we're playing tag huh? Alright then, I'll show you not to underestimate me!"

(Rin): "Dude, calm down with the cliche lines."

I'm starting to get bored with the fight. Can't you think of something new to say?

(Envy): "Cliche huh. You think I, the great, E-"

I snapped my fingers when I felt like he was gonna read out a whole paragraph of how 'great' he is. When I snapped them, an explosion followed from Envy's back, causing him to fall over and hit the ground face first.

His back had smoke coming from the flesh wound as even his bones started showing. Man, that's a gruesome sight and the smell's horrible, but for some reason, I don't feel a thing. Then again, I've killed a lot of demons and a human before.

That attack earlier was something I developed in the pocket dimension. I compressed my flames on my palms to a sticker-like extent and implanted it onto the thin demonic energy around Envy. If we weren't in a battle, he would've noticed the blue hue and the weight but luckily that didn't seem to be the case.

(Envy): "Tch, cheap trick!"

Envy says that as he sends out another pillar of earth towards me.

(Akane): "Not if I have anything to say about it!"

I was about to dodge but then a black whip came out of nowhere and grabbed the pillar before sending it back to Envy, making him into a demon pancake.

(Rin): "Looks like I'm not the only one trying new skills out."

I look at Akane who's holding two black whips in her as she looks at Envy with a sadistic smile on her face. Something about the sight made me chuckle a little when I remembered the shy girl from earlier. I don't know if I should be worried about the amount of detail that whip has though.

(Rin): "Thanks for the save, Miss Dominatrix."

(Akane): "D-dominatrix?!"

Akane seemed shocked by what I said as the sadistic smile of hers disappears as she becomes flustered. I guess she's self-conscious of that fact huh.

(Rin): "Of course, I see a fellow sadist when I see one."

Though mine is situational like if someone annoyed me, I'd make sure they regret it, or if I'm with my friends I'd tease them a lot. Akane's one is more about hearing the screams of random victims whereas mine is with victims that triggered me. Though we both love teasing our friends.

(Akane): "Does that mean your one too?"

Akane asks with stars in her eyes that caught me off guard a little.

(Rin): "Yep, but it doesn't have to be in a kinky way. Anyway, he's reviving again."

I winked to her before pointing out Envy's coming back online.

(Akane): "Ah, we'll continue this talk afterwards."

Akane said that as she looked at me with expectant eyes before getting back into a fighting stance. This girl is a little handful huh.

(Rin): "Sounds fun."

Though if she tries whipping me or something, I'd have to run away. I may like getting teased myself, but nothing like that, please. I may have high pain tolerance but that doesn't mean I'm a fan of it.

(Envy): "Tch, I wasted too many abilities on you two, but your powers will be worth the sacrifice!"

Envy looks at us warily as he mumbles that under his breath. Sacrifices, huh? Something like using blood to use those skills or something? I guess that explains why he can use that many abilities but it must be taxing for his body. He should be out of steam soon.

(Rin): "Guess we'll be done after Cram School's over. Too bad, Yukio will yell at my head again."

I wonder how Yukio would react to this? He's meant to have an eye on me and make sure I don't reveal my flames, but I've met many people that have been exposed to them for a while. I've even had a few life or death situations too.

I think that to myself as I dodge another web-based attack from Envy. Unlike that spider demon I faced before, Envy's web attacks seem a lot more simple and less dangerous.

(Rin): "Let's try this out."

I told to myself as soon as Akane switched out with me. Something about seeing those webs gave me a little inspiration for a potential move. I created those claws from earlier as I started condensing the flames at my fingertips. I then thinned them out until they became somewhat like strings that are joined from one hand to another.

(Rin): "Damn, these things are hard to maintain. Looks like I got something to train for."

I had the idea of making something like strings with my flames, but these require a lot of concentration to maintain. Looks like I have a new experiment to test out. I thought that as a perfect test subject approaches me.

Aren't you eager for more pain?

(Envy): "Bastard, you still looking down on me?!"

Envy noticed my lack of involvement as he tried attacking me with an earth spike followed by a water slicer. I easily dodged those attacks before landing onto Envy's shoulders.

(Rin): "I got to have fun somehow with how dragged out the fight is. Now let's try this out!"

(Envy): "Guh, get off of me!"

I still had those flame webs on my hands so put them to their first task. I wrapped my legs behind Envy's waist and glued myself to his back as I wrapped the strings around his neck, slowly strangling him.

(Rin): "Well that was easier than I thought. You're making this too easy man."

(Envy): "Kuh.. get... off…"

I say that to aggravate Envy as revenge for earlier as he tries shaking me off, but unfortunately for him, I was like an annoying mosquito that didn't give up till death. I continued to slowly pull the threads that started cutting through his skin as blood flowed all over his neck again.

He started losing his breath as his attempts to get me off got even more desperate, but it didn't affect me much as I analysed his condition. The threads are now stuck inside his skin as his regeneration caused the wounds to seal, but he's still suffocating. Looks like that's a con about super regeneration.

(Rin): "Alright, now I don't have to worry about breaking stuff."

I say that as flames explode from my body like a bonfire and ruthlessly burn Envy who can't even scream since I burned the nearby oxygen. I'm glad my flames don't rely on oxygen to burn, but just my energy. I'm fine since I kept my oxygen separated from his. My flames really are a cheat ability, huh.

Once I felt like I tortured him enough, for the time being at least, I gave him one last pat on the back before jumping off of him. I used up a lot of energy and I want to take a little break.

(Envy): "You brat… I'll make sure to rip you in half before I steal your powers!"

Envy doesn't seem to be giving up no matter how many times we beat him up. Yep, that means he's the perfect test dummy for testing out new techniques. I smiled to myself for the things we could do as Envy has a slight shiver from seeing that. I wonder how crazy my smile is.

(Rin): "Satan's prison!"

I clicked my fingers once more as crystals began to form around Envy. I don't have to click my fingers, I just felt like it. The last pat I gave him contained my flames set to burn the time around him which triggered these crystals to form.

(Envy): "You think these pretty little crystals can stop me!"

Envy said arrogantly as he tried pulling them off with his own hands, but the production of Crystals outworked his ability to remove them.

(Envy): "Wait what?! I can't get out!"

He started panicking when he realised that these weren't ordinary crystals as his attempts to escape became even desperate. He tried using his other abilities to no avail as it was too late.

It didn't take long before Envy's entire body got surrounded by crystals apart from his head. Even though he can't move, he's still able to use his abilities so we have to be careful.

(Rin): "He who conceals hatred has lying lips, and he who spreads slander is a fool."

I chanted a mid-level aria spell to limit his attacks a little bit, but it's not that powerful nor will it last that long. I feel like I could probably seal his powers if I burn the demonic energy around him, but we have more important stuff that needs to be dealt with first before I do any more experiments.

(Rin): "Now answer me this: What do you know about Akane?"

I asked this as I grabbed his hair before forming a crystal in my hand that was pointed to his right eye. I wonder how Akane's parents are linked with their organisation?

(Envy): "You think I'll tell you?"

Envy replies with his annoying smile whilst still glaring at me with daggers. Good, he won't answer immediately.

(Rin): "Not immediately, nope."

(Envy): "Aaaaaaah!!!"

I replied with a smile before stabbing him in the eye as he screams in bloody murder. I didn't stop there though, I made sure to clean his entire eye socket out, much against his protest and attempts to escape, before wedging the crystal inside there, disrupting his healing abilities a little.

(Akane): "Rin…"

Akane calls my name as it snaps me out of torturing Envy. I looked over in confusion as she nervously looked at me.

(Akane): "...Mind if I try?"

Ah, I thought she was gonna reprimand me or something, like how most heroines in anime series do, but it looks like we're actually similar.

(Rin): "Yep, I think you might be a bigger sadist than I am."

I say that with a smile as I look at the shy senpai of mine. We really are weird huh.

(Akane): "... Does it sicken you?"

Akane asks that shyly as I tilt my head. She's cute when she's like this even though her sadistic side is a little frightening. It should be alright if it's tamed, right?

(Rin): "Hmm? Why would it? I just cleaned his entire right eye out after all. Do you think I'd get sick over something like that? Plus everyone has their own charms, just like a masosadist like you."

It just means she's a kinky girl, I don't see any problems with that. Though some of her fetishes might be a little worrying later down the road.

(Akane): "Huh? How did you know I'm a switch?!"

Akane exclaims as her face becomes as red as her fringe. I sorta had the feeling she was, mainly because of her fighting style and that time her tail got pulled where she looked like she enjoyed it. She's like a berserker and whenever she gets hit, she laughs it off with a flushed expression.

Sorta like darkness from Konosuba, but also a sadist and can attack.

(Rin): "I didn't, but now I do."

(Akane): "No fair!"

Akane hits my chest lightly as I just chuckle. I'm glad she didn't attack me with her full strength, else that'd hurt a lot.

(Rin): "Ahem, back to this guy."

I had to bring her back to reality since I could feel people gathering around. The park's in a mess thanks to the fight with mud, earth pillars and webs everywhere, but luckily none of the trees or playground equipment got destroyed.

RIP car owner though.

(Akane): "Yep, let's do our best to interrogate him!"

Akane says whilst performing a guts pose. Looks like she's pumped for the interrogation.

(Rin): "Couldn't have said it better myself."

We both turned to Envy with smiles on our faces, ready to give this guy hell.

(Envy): "Wait no, please!"

Envy screams as he seems aware that things will only be worse from here on out. Too late buddy.

(Rin): "Oh yeah, we can kill him a few times. I'm pretty sure his ability lets him regenerate all wounds by sacrificing an ability."

That's my hypothesis at least. I noticed he didn't use his teleport skill after I killed him the first time but used a lower levelled one instead. Either his revival skill completely deletes a skill, or makes it a tier lower.

(Akane): "Perfect."

(Envy): "Nooooooo!"

Akane says that as she puts her hand on the crystal still stuck in his right eye before manipulating his blood to make a combat knife. Looks like even if she's gonna torture him, she's not gonna make any skin contact huh.

I will never understand her phobia while she remains so strong.

(Rin): "Let's take him to the pocket dimension though."

I say to Akane as I look around. Exorcists are just around the corner, it'd be a headache to see them here.

(Akane): "Even better. We can take our time with this bastard."

Akane agrees with a cheerful expression, not aware of what trouble was about to come here. I silently made the portal as I threw Envy in before going in ourselves. This is what you get for being an immortal who ruins our date.

This is gonna be fun.
