"All the more reason to get rid of her here and now," Vol replied without looking around.

"It wouldn't make for the best escape plan, I might point out," Nolan said, hovering a small distance away. Grace had to force her eyes to the edge of their sockets in order to see him. She couldn't move her neck under Vol's grips.

"Two… pigs…" she said, choking a laugh after her words. She had a madness to her, like a bad smell.

Nolan sighed. "Sorry, Vol, but I think I'll get involved," he said, striding quickly to the side of the woman and striking the side of her neck with a chop. She was limp in Vol's hand in an instant, collapsing like a ragdoll.

With a distasteful expression on his face, Vol let her fall to the floor.

"Seems we'll still hang," Vol noted. The woman was merely unconscious, but when she woke up, no doubt she'd be sending all kinds of accusations their way.
