367 Old Blood and Stone - Part 3

With a swift motion, Vol hurdled himself from the saddle, still travelling at dramatic speed. More than a few knights had broken their necks in similar situations, but Vol dove into it voluntarily. With warhammer in hand, he crashed right into the shield wall, flattening three men at once, forcing them to bear his weight.

"Gods! What the hell is that?" Vale panicked. It was her job to keep Vol alive, after all. Penelope had begged her to. At first, she'd begged Vale to convince Vol to leave this battle, but Vale had gently told her that she'd never be able to manage that.

Vol groaned on his back. He'd thought, as strong as he'd become, that he would have more resilience than that. It turned out, jumping from a moving horse was painful no matter how strong you were. It was even worse with the weight of armour and weaponry that he carried.

Before he could roll to his feet, weapons were flying towards him.
