13 The combat training

Standing back up, and dusting myself off. I knew this was going to be one hell of a training day.

'That shit hurt!' I thought while healing myself with a drink that Delia had given me earlier in order to prepare for the training. I say drink but we all know this was a classic health potion!

I was secretly geeking out inside as the red liquid reached my lips and I took a big GLUGH! of it.

There was a warming sensation and my wounds begin to close up right before my eyes.

But not all of them though because I didn't drink enough,I finished the potion off and yelled at Delia "Ok I'm ready!" "But could you go a little easier?"

"I'm not much of a fighter and this shit is.." OOF as I spun wildly in the air getting hit with a high pressure wind blast

Rapidly nearing the ground I braced myself for a another long tumble in the field of hurt.

'I refer to it as such for it is all it brings!' I thought as I was suddenly not tumbling and hitting the ground hard, Like I expected to be but instead I was floating a few feet from the ground.

Delia being the kind gentle goddess she is then released me from her phantom grip and I hit the ground hard.

Rubbing the pain out of my butt cheeks I stood up again. Delia laughs "You really think your soul can gain levels of I go easy on you?"

"Yeah" I responded weakly "I mean you are A GOD so yes please?" she laughed again then bright luminescent yellow orbs formed on each other fingers.

"Oh shit!" I yelled knowing what was coming next. bright beams of the light burst from her fingers in my direction at a blinding speed The only thing I wished at the time was to be away from my area of impact.

suddenly I remember Walk of the wise man!

I remember this skill suddenly I was behind Delia going in for an attack.

BOOM!!! another explosion wipes me out. flings me desperately and hopelessly into the air.

Funny thing is all I can think about was how close I was to have me a new goddess wife. That all ended when I hit the ground. Delia seemed to be exhausted. When I looked over at her, she was bent over with her hands on her knees.

Once again like an idiot I stood up, as I made my way over to Delia I realized that she wasn't out of breath she was laughing at me!

I finally reached her and I asked "What the hell is so funny?" out of breath she replied "You should have seen your face thinking that you got one over on me and then after my fireball your face as you were flung into the air it was hilarious!"

feeling more humiliated than physically hurt right now I said "Yeah yeah whatever let's just get back to it, and are you actually going to teach me anything or are you just going to keep beating my ass?"

"Yes I'm sorry" she replied still smiling. "I was just having a little fun with you let's get down to business."

"You're getting a lot better at fighting now I'm going to teach you how to gain soul levels."

"while constantly fighting and learning new fighting styles is one way." "It's very time-consuming and takes years of dedication and practice just to gain one level from this way."

A little angry that I was just getting beat up for no reason I replied "okay so then what way are you going to teach me that is the opposite of what you're telling me this is?"

"You're pretty sharp." she replied "Yes there is a much faster way to gain some levels and that is to literally sit here in this training area and meditate."

"To hell with that!" I replied "You said it wasn't going to be time-consuming." "Trust me she said, "I'm not a god for the fun of it.." "Although it is very fun from time to time."

"No, I'm going to teach you a way to meditate like a god to a gain soul levels."

"This is easy so close your eyes and imagine a dark area very dark now imagine in that dark area."

I quickly sit down cross leg and do she says because only a fool would be impatient with a God.

she continues,

"Now imagine in that dark space a crystal this crystal will represent your soul normally they start off small and it's only one single crystal shard."

I sit there, focus on the darkness and I'll try to imagine a crystal a simple crystal, Like one you would find in a video game.

So I'm picturing like a light blue flu fluorescent shining crystal..*POP* exactly what I imagined pops into existence right before me. So this room is completely dark now there's a shining crystal.

*POP* *POP* *POP* The sound is as if you placed your hand over a vacuum hose and then suddenly pull it away.Three clusters split from the crystal My eyes shoot open. Gasping from surprise I say to Delia.

"Delia!" I say excitedly "What happens when there's a crystal cluster?"

Delia answers my question with another question "What do you mean crystal cluster?"

I picture it again think on it for a second and say "It looks like a big quartz cluster I don't know how else to explain it." I said feeling kind of unintelligent.

she walks over to me calmly and says. "stand still for a minute I'm going to peer into your soul"

I stand there motionless while she places her hand on the center of my chest instinctively I flex my chest muscles.

she says "You do know where the saying body of a Greek god came from correct?" " Stop flexing your puny muscles and let me look into your soul."

a steaming hot blush instantly filled my cheeks and I say shamefully "I'm sorry it was just a reflex." While laughing nervously.

We both stand there and in silence for a bit and Delia says "I never seen anything like that before You just keep getting more and more interesting."
