Too much attention

A luxurious car entered the tall gates of Orchid University grabbing a lot of attention as they drove and stopped in front of the main building.

Ariana looked outside the window with her eyes wide open and her mouth a little open.

Orchid is one of the prestigious Universities where students study their ass hard to get enlisted into. Those with the wealthiest background poured endless money to enroll their kids but for those who entered the college due to scholarship, it wasn't less than a dream come true.

Ariana had always dreamed of graduating from a reputed University and finally, her dream of entering Orchid came true. 'Thanks to the man next to her.'

Turning her head at Lucian who was seated next to her in his luxurious car gave her a light nod.

"Let's get out" she heard him say and her eye popped out from her socket.

"Y-You too is coming" she muttered surprised by his words.

"Yes," he said and stepped out of the car.

Ariana who was still baffled by his words looked out of the window once again and watched the students passing by mumbled looking their way.

"Why do I feel like I will grab a lot of attention"

Heaving out a sigh, Ariana picked up her backpack and tucked it into her arm before she stepped out.

The numerous eyes that were previously looking behind her soon turned to her and she started to notice them gossiping about something.

"Let's go" Her thoughts broke when she heard an icy cold voice from the other side of the car and her head turned to look his way.

Frantically bobbing her head Ariana sprinted toward Lucian and they both walked into the building.

Ariana was happy when Lucian offered to drop the University but now she regretted agreeing with him.

Lucian was grabbing a lot of attention and why not, when he carried such an exceptional personality.

Ariana pursed her lips and kept following the man until they reached the first floor of the building.

Ignoring all the curious eyes, they stopped in front of the Dean's cabin. Ariana stood behind Lucian and watched him knock on the door.

"Yes" The second they heard a voice from inside, someone opened the door for them and they both stepped in.

Ariana watched the clerk inside the room bow at them and step out as quickly as possible. The man sneaked out like a mouse who didn't want to stand in the same as them and left without looking back.

Ariana pursed her lips into a thin line before she moved her attention ahead and heard an old voice speak," Mr. Donovan, what a pleasant surprise"

Caspian Jordan, the head of Orchid smiled staring at Lucian and he stood up from his seat to greet him.

Lucian gave the old man a light nod. "Please have a seat," Caspian said as his eyes then fell on Ariana who had been tagging along with him.

The old man's smile faltered for a second but he soon composed himself and offered Ariana to have the seat too.

Ariana noticed the little change in the man's expression but she brushed as she took the chair next to Lucian and settled down.

Clasping her palms together Ariana started biting her lips as the silence inside the room was suddenly making her nervous.

Since she was joining in the middle of the semester, Ariana felt a little odd as she thought of herself as an outsider as she missed making friends on the first day of her college like every student here did.

Caspian looked at the girl before she averted his eyes at Lucian. He seated on his chair like a king carrying a blank face while his eyes were fixated on the old man.

An entire minute passed and finally, Caspian opened his mouth to speak. "You don't have to worry Mr. Donovan. We will provide Miss Ariana with the utmost education covering up the entire syllabus she missed from the beginning of the semester"

Ariana looked at Lucian and then at the man who smiled at them. Don't know why Ariana had a feeling that the old man in front of her was scared of Lucian's aloofness.

She wondered what powers this man held which intimidated everyone around him.

'Sigh... I don't even know what he does for a living' she thought to herself shaking her head mentally.

"I was expecting this assurance from you" Lucian's cold voice broke her thoughts and she looked at him.

Passing Caspian and assuring nod, he then turned to her. 'Damn this man' she said to herself and force a smile.

"Let me know if you face any problems. I'll take care of everything" Caspian choked on his words grabbing both Ariana's and Lucian's attention towards him.

"Sorry" he apologized and quickly moved his eyes from them.

Lucian shot a glare at the old man before he turned his attention back to her.

Unknown to him, his hand instinctively reached to her head as he carefully caressed her hair. " All the best," he said as his lips curled up into a faint smile surprising both Caspian and Ariana.

Ariana stilled the moment she noticed the same smile from last night. Never had she imagined Lucian would look so alluring with that dimples on his cheeks. They weren't too deep but still, it looked so good on him.

Nodding her head Ariana watched him pull back his hand. She was feeling shy all of a sudden as a blush crept over her cheeks and she looked down hiding her embarrassment from them.

Knock!

The sound of the clicking door caught their attention and a man stepped in. He had the same uniform worn as the man who was early inside the room with Mr. Jordan.

"Klaus we guide you to your classroom," Caspian said with an assuring tone.

Ariana looked at Lucian who gave her a nod and she stood up from the chair before walking out of the cabin along with Klaus.

The second the door shut close, the gentleness on Lucian's face turned back to the stone.

"Keep an eye on her. I don't want her to get suspicious about us" Lucian's authoritative voice startled Caspian but he quickly masked his look and bobbed his head.

Outside, Ariana followed a man name Klaus who guided her toward the classroom.

"This way ma'am," the man said stopping a few distances away from the classroom's door and pointed his hand at the room.

Ariana bobbed her head politely showing her gratitude and watched the man turn and walk away.

Taking a deep breath, Ariana composed her nervous heart and tightly gripped the shoulder strap before walking ahead.

The moment she entered the classroom the hustle inside the class was silent and everyone's eyes fell on her.

Ariana sucked a deep breath as she found their gaze too intimidating. 'How long do I have to endure this' she thought crying mentally.

Ignoring their eyes Ariana walked towards the bench and took the seat. Too much attention was already making her run back to the house but she couldn't.

Lucian had done so much for her and she didn't want to upset him. With that thought, she mustered up the courage and waited for the class to begin.

Meanwhile, Lucian left the dean's cabin and stepped out of the building when suddenly his phone rang inside his pocket.

Pulling out the cell phone, Lucian looked at the caller and a deep crease marred over his forehead. Tightening his grip around the device he answered the call.

"Hello" His voice was calm as the sea but only if anyone could see through his eyes they will notice the storm brewing inside them.

His face crumpled after listening to the words from the other end of the call and he said," I will be right there" hanging up the call, Lucian hopped into the car and soon drive out from the Orchid's gates.

The class soon started and Ariana seemed to enjoy the lecture. Professor Drake seemed a knowledgeable man who made the subject enjoyable. He had this different way of teaching that made her understand everything while enjoying the topic.

After forty-five minutes the class ended. He picked up the books from the table and was about to leave when his eyes caught a new face and that's when he remembered Caspian informing him about a new special student.

Taking a glance at Ariana he stepped out of the classroom only to stumble upon Klaus who had been standing outside with his gawk-like eyes peeking inside the class.

"What are you doing here?" Drake asked tucking the bridge of his spec upwards and stared at the man ahead.

Klaus flinch at his word and straightened up. His eyes observed the man who carried this poker face as soon as he stepped out of the class.

Klaus would always wonder how was Drake able to switch from being cheerful to serious in the blink of an eye.

"Ahem... will you stop looking at me like that. It's grabbing a lot of attention" Drake mumbled when he noticed a few of his students glancing at them from inside.

"How can I not when you look so handsome" Klaus answered playfully making Drake twitch his lips annoyingly.
