2 Chapter 2 : Mom

Yue Li Lian's eyes twitch as she heard him.' Husband?! What husband?... Am I dreaming? I don't think I know him...? Wait...Did I possibly forgot something?' she thought.

Li Lian's eyes froze at the man's face, "Husband? W-Was I married? Did I forgot something...?"

Hearing the word 'Husband' from Li Lian, the man's cold face melted into a warm smile.

Seeing his warm smile, Li Lian felt her heart tightened and clutches her own chest in reflex. Her heart was filled with a warm and fluffy cloud-like feeling.

As if she had forgotten something, Li Lian suddenly stood up again from her bed and exclaim. "Ah! My mom!". But because her body was still weak, especially her legs once again, Li Lian stumble as she loses her balance.

The man frowned in worry at the scene and hold her hand to support her body. He made her sits down again once again on the bed with eyes filled with worries.

"Mrs. Yue...Your mom is alright now. You were in a coma, it has been a year since the accident" He explains what happened in the past year slowly.

'I was in a coma ? for a year?!' Li Lian's expression turned dark as he heard him.

"Like you, your mom is in a coma... However in your case...The wound in your head was far worse and If you were-" The man stops his word and his expression turned darker than black, Li Lian could see his hand had begun to trembles.

"-If you were taken a second longer you would have...died." He starts to shutter at his last word.

Li Lian look at the man in front of her, she could feel the deep sorrow from the man...sorrow and sadness... She understand instantly just how worried the man was, but she has never seen him before and she doesn't remember him at all.

Li Lian wanted to ask more things, about how he become her husband and who he is. Her mind was nearly filled with curiosity on this man. But she was more worried about her mother, so she stopped asking him questions and decided to ask him later after she checked on her mom.

"How is my mom's condition? Can you, take me to my mom? I need to see her."

"Okay, Wait here for a bit, I will take you to her."

After a while, a nurse knocked on the door and brought a wheelchair for Li Lian. The man carried Li Lian on his arm and put her slowly to the wheelchair. He holds her very carefully and gently, Although his looks was cold and expressionless, the way he treated her was utterly the opposite of how he looks.

The man pushes the wheelchair carefully so she will not feel uncomfortable, Li Lian could feel his gentleness in the way he treated her and each of his movement felt very tender.

Li Lian looked around and her eyes stop at the hospital's bulletin. 'Imperial Hospital' her eyes widened when she saw it.

The imperial Hospital is the most distinguish hospital in China and most of the doctors in this hospital mostly graduated from famous universities. Only distinguish cooperation people and a high ranking military people could enter this hospital.

'Except they're filthy rich or they're a high ranking military people, how could I be here? now that I think about it my room is unusually big and the room interior was very elegant, it was a beautiful room that doesn't look like a hospital room...'

Li Lian was absorbed in thinking and without knowing she had arrived at a hospital room.

" We arrived. " said the man.

Li Lian looked at the man as he opens the door with his left hand and a golden watch on his right wrist.

'So he's left-handed,huh' unintentionally Li Lian keep looking at the man's movement and took interest in every little movement he made and for some reason, her heart was unusually loud...

When the door was open, Li Lian's eyes laid on a woman on her 30s who slept peacefully on the hospital bed.

Li Lian's eyes were locked on her mother's sleeping figure, unlike her mother's usually bright and cheerful expression, she looks extremely fragile and thin. Looking at the sight of her week mother. Unknowingly Li Lian's eyes turned red, tears drip down from her eyes as it fall to her peach-colored cheek.

"M..Mom.." Li Lian sobbed with her tears that couldn't be stop.
