7 Chapter 7

"Ladies & Gentlemen, may I have your attention please," the old man said. "As you see, this old man is getting frailer each and every day. So I have decided to merge the newly built Xiang Corporation with Tan Industries with a marriage. Please come and join us, Mr. Xiang Zhelan."

After hearing the name, she silently scoffed. The guests clapped their hands as soon as Zhelan appeared with a bouquet of roses. He walked up to her and handed her the bouquet.

"What's this?" she scoffed.

"Roses for you?" Zhelan replied.

She grabbed the roses and handed it to Lucius.

"Throw it away later," she whispered.

Zhelan's eyes turned ice cold as he looked at Lucius but Lucius was unfazed by this.

"Now, let's watch as the couple has their first dance," the host continued.

She scoffed by almost dragged Zhelan to the center.

As they started dancing, Zhelan pulled her close to him.

"Don't do something you'll regret later," he whispered.

His voice sent shivers to her spine but she thought it was disgust that radiated through her body for the man she was dancing with.

"If this marriage didn't bring something good to me and my company, I would've done everything in my power to cancel it," she answered back. She really didn't want anyone to talk down on her, especially her enemy.

He chuckled as he twirled her gently.

"Well... this marriage also brings a lot of opportunities to my family and company. How about we go for the wedding?" he laughed.

"You still haven't changed, Zhelan. You still treat everything as a joke," she said.

He smiled as he looked her in the eyes.

"No, Jia... Only things that are connected to you," he said with a hint of mockery in his eyes. She quickly looked away. "You still haven't changed. You get so pissed off so easily, my love."

She quickly stopped dancing.

"Yes... I still haven't changed, Zhelan. I still hate you deep to the bones," she hissed as she left him in the middle of the dance floor.

He sighed as he watched her walk away.

"I won't let you walk away from me next time, Jia," he muttered.
