2 Chapter 2

Meanwhile, at the Xiang Corporation, the man behind the sudden success of the company was looking out the window from the top floor. A newspaper in his right hand and his cup of coffee. And on the headline was his engagement to the most perfect woman in the city, Jia Tan, who also hates him very deeply.

He'd asked the old man a million of times to let him marry his granddaughter but that old fool would only laugh at him. Until he finally gave in on 2 conditions. First, it was to beat him in a Chinese chess. That old fool was so good at playing that it became hard for him to win. It took him 3 years before winning against the old man.

And the 2nd condition was to restore the Xiang Corporation. That was easy, well, for him. The old man couldn't let his excellent granddaughter marry someone below her, even Jia wouldn't say yes with all that pride of hers.

"Zhi, send some pink tulips to my fiancee," he said as he sipped his coffee.

"Right away, master," the woman behind him said.

'I'm going to see you soon, my love. But for now, I'll need you to play my little game first,' he smiled, feeling satisfied with his delicious coffee.

...

Late that afternoon, as she was preparing to head home. Her grandfather's butler arrived in haste with a message.

"WHAT?! That bitch?" she exclaimed as she heard what the butler had to say.

Apparently, the bitch was her uncle's new mistress. And that bitch is going to have an acceptance party that evening for her. Her grandfather's been weak this past few months and that was one of the reasons why she accepted the marriage that her grandfather suggested.

"Where's papa?" she asked.

"Your father is in Hongkong for a business trip that your grandfather should've attended," the butler replied.

'Ahh, so that bitch is actually taking advantage of my papa's absence,' she thought.

"I'll go subdue that gold-digger. Please, go quickly. I'm afraid my grandfather's in danger with that woman in the house. I guess I'll have to spend my night at the mansion," she said as she stood up and fixed her dress.

"Then, I will go now, milady," the butler said as he quickly left.

After settling things first in the office, she grabbed a handful of documents from her desk since she needed to finish things so work won't pile up.

"Lucius, prepare a lot of cash," she said as she smirked.

"Yes, milady," he answered.

After arriving at the Tan Mansion, the house was already looking very lively. It was obvious that a party was being held there. Her expression turned sour. There were a lot of people she couldn't recognize.

When she arrived, a lot of people who were clearly her age were drinking by the door.

"Miss, did you know? My friend's going to be the Mrs. Tan of the family," a seemingly drunk stranger said. But Lucius pushed her aside.

"Mrs. Tan? Now that's hilarious. Lucius, find that vile woman. Jiangzhe, I'm sorry but make sure my grandfather is alright," she said as she elegantly strode inside her family's mansion.
