1 Chapter 1

"Lucius, was there any difficulties in acquiring that small company?" she asked as she monitored the stocks of her company in her laptop.

"Yes milady. A small but manageable problem. No need for you to worry about," the man said as he stood proudly beside her.

"Was I a little too harsh?" she asked as she sipped her tea.

Lucius shook his head.

"Not at all, milady," Lucius said as he smiled at her.

"Hmm... ah, about the thing that my grandfather arranged? Do you have anything in mind to reverse his decision?" she asked as she looked at him.

Lucius shook his head in disappointment.

"I'm afraid I have yet to come for a possible solution for that, milady," he said.

After hearing this, Jia Tan's expression turned sour. Why would her grandfather suddenly announce such preposterous marriage at the peak of her career? Even if that Xiang family has been on the rise now, their son isn't worthy to be called her fiancee yet.

Even after their eldest son managed to redeem their family, he isn't that worthy to marry yet. The Xiang Corporation has been on the decline for that last 5 years before the son took over. It was faced with a lot of scandals and possible bankruptcy. The son managed to turn everything around and is now the 2nd largest company next to the Tan Industries.

However, Jia has been the CEO far longer than Xiang Corporation's new CEO. Even though his skills were exemplary, she was more than him.

She sighed after calming herself down.

"Let's go to the meeting," she said as she stood up. Lucius followed behind her like an obedient little dog.

...

"...and so I predict that our sales will definitely double by the end of this month," the general manager said as she wrapped up her report. But soon her proud face turned to sour as soon as she realized that her boss' expression was still indifferent, meaning it was unsatisfactory.

She fidgeted in nervousness.

"Miss Lin, is there any other way to triple our monthly sales? Quadruple it? Maybe even raise the standard?" she asked directly. If she can't find a satisfactory answer from her, then she might as well pack her things and maybe find a more suitable one in her place.

She didn't hire these people just to stay in their comfort zones. She wanted people who would dare take the risk.

Lin Hua, the general manager thought carefully for a moment. She tried to think hard so as not to be fazed in front of the demoness in front of her.

"There is a way but for now, we will have to think over it, madame. Please give us another week and I will return to you with excellent solutions," she said with affirmation in her voice.

They were, in fact, afraid to dissatisfy the demoness in front of them because there was one time where she wasn't satisfied, she fired the most excellent general manager in the country without batting an eyelash and in front of the whole staff. The only ones who could satisfy her hunger for excellence were her two most reliable and excellent assistants, Jiangzhe and Lucius, the Long twins.

"Lucius, guide them on where they need guidance the most. I'm going to expect something satisfactory by Friday afternoon. Alright? Everyone is dismissed," she said as she gently patted Lucius' shoulder.

"Yes, milady," he said.

After Jia left, Lucius silently stood up and went to the front and inspected the documents.

The staff inside felt nervous as they watched him inspect it. After a while, Lucius let out a laugh.

"Is there any something funny, Mr. Lucius?" the general manager asked. "My staff worked for it for 2 weeks in a row, I don't know if there is something laughable in the reports."

Lucius was the hidden genius behind Tan Industries. Although everything else was Jia's decisions, there were some important decisions that Jia confided to him. He was already a prodigy.

"Milady has put me in charge and I will do that to the best of my ability. But these..." he said. "These are all garbage," he said coldly as he threw the documents on the floor.

"Milady only deserves the best and I can't fathom why this trash was presented in her presence," he said as his gaze turned ice cold.

The entire staff felt a slight shiver down their spine. Lucius lives up to his name, Lucifer, the name of the devil. If something doesn't go according to his plan or if something was off in his eyes, he would go out of his way to correct it. And he was very loyal to his master, the young lady of the Tan Clan. And if something was unsatisfactory in his master's eyes, he would do everything to correct it.

"I'm going to give until tomorrow to give me a new idea and develop a new way to increase monthly sales. But if by tomorrow afternoon all I see are trash, I will take over," he said before leaving.

It was a clear threat to them. He wasn't clearly a fan of subtle hints.
