2 Overtime

As the memories started to fade, the office turned even more silent. Then, Clarence let out a cough before saying, "As my assistant, you will not only have to deal with documents and follow me on business trips but also take care of my pet."

"Pet?" Ning Yao was surprised and looked up.

The man took out his phone and handed it to her.

Ning Yao stepped forward to receive it.

As Ning Yao bent down to do so, Clarence's eyes suddenly caught sight of two soft white balls under her neckline and he immediately felt his body react.

How many years had it been? How did they grow so big?

The man gritted his teeth and suppressed the restless flame growing in his body.

Ning Yao did not notice the change in Clarence's expression as she took the phone and played the video. The golden eyes of a small black snake as thick as her wrist suddenly met hers.

"Ah!" Ning Yao exclaimed. She was not afraid, but rather surprised.

Clarence's pet was a black snake.

In the video, the little black snake wrapped itself around its master's arm. Its black scales shone with colorful hues under the sun, it was as beautiful as a piece of art.

What attracted Ning Yao to it even more so was the hand that the little black snake was wrapped around.

His skin was as white as snow, and his muscles were tight and smooth while his slender fingers stroked the black snake's body.

Who knew that a pair of hands could be so sexy that it could make people's hearts beat faster?

"It's so beautiful," said Ning Yao sincerely.

The snake was beautiful but the hands of the snake's owner were even more beautiful.

Clarence was surprised. He was expecting Ning Yao to throw the phone away in shock as the other interviewees had.

"You're not afraid?" The man's voice was deep and magnetic.

"I'm more afraid of bugs." Ning Yao answered honestly.

She wasn't afraid of snakes because a python had saved her life when she was young.

She had been with the python for a few months. Not only did the snake not hurt her, but it would also find many sweet fruits for her to eat.

And that snake could talk, though a snake and a human child did not have much in common.

It wasn't until later, when her family finally found her with the help of the rescue team, that she left the forest.

It was the biggest fortuitous encounter in Ning Yao's peaceful life.

However, what made Ning Yao a little perplexed was that after puberty, she started having the same dream of being with the snake...which was a little ridiculous.

Right after Ning Yao walked out, He Huai1 slowly heaved a sigh of relief.

The increasingly sweet scent on her body after not seeing her for so many years almost made him lose control of himself.

He Huai looked at the photo on the resume again and smiled faintly. "I finally found you."

Ning Yao returned to her room, washed up, and lay on her bed.

Not long after, her roommates, Song Ying and Xu Na, also returned.

Song Ying had brought back the fried chicken from the canteen for Ning Yao. When she saw the listlessness on Ning Yao's face, she couldn't help but ask with concern, "Ning Yao, didn't you go for an interview? Why do you look so pale? Are you not feeling well?"

The two of them started eating the fried chicken. After they were done and had washed up, Ning Yao was about to go to bed early. But then, her phone rang.

After the call was connected, a respectful voice came through the speaker. "Miss, Young Master heard that you went to Glory World for an interview today..."

Ning Yao was immediately annoyed. "Does he really want to see me make a fool of myself? Go tell him that I will be going to Glory World and I won't be coming home. I won't marry that man!"

Ning Yao hung up the phone angrily.

In order to escape the marriage her family had arranged for her, she had given up her identity as the daughter of a rich family and became an ordinary student.
