1 Prologue

"I'm sorry, but your son will never get his quirk."

...

"Mom, I want to become a hero! Like All Might!"

...

"I'm so sorry Izuku!"

...

"You'll never be as strong as me Deku! You quirkless rat!"

...

Izuku let out a loud scream as he gripped his hair. He was currently sitting on a cliff, he came there to jump off, but he wasn't so sure he wanted to do it anymore. He didn't remember how he got there, his legs just took off running until he reached this place. It was beautiful however, the sky reflecting on the water below. He could see the stars and the moon shining within the ripples of water as the wind carried through the stream. He heard the birds chirping and crickets all around him, normally he would've found that annoying, but at that moment it was peaceful. It was the only thing really keeping him from jumping.

His phone lit up beside him as it rang for the 10th time that night. It was his mom calling, probably wondering where he was. He let it ring through and watched the light go dark once again beside him. He hummed and kicked his legs that were dangling off the ledge. He took in a deep breath of the cold night air, feeling it run through him.

Ever since Kindergarten Izuku has always dreamed about being big one day. He wanted to be a hero like All Might, maybe that's what he wanted. Or maybe he just wanted to be known. But as soon as he saw All Mights Fierce smile, he knew he was destined to do the same. He watched everyone else gain the quirks, but himself. He didn't quite understand why. Until his doctor told him that he wouldn't be getting one. His dreams, shattered.

"I'm so sorry Izuku!"

His mom's words, her cries of sadness. It broke Izuku. She was giving up on him, even when he'd given up on himself too. He knew somewhere deep down that he would never be a hero, never be known. But now, as Izuku peered over the river, he knew that he'd be known somehow. And he'd take any chance to get his name out there.

"What are you gonna do now Deku?" Katsuki boomed. Izuku was trapped, he had been running from Katsuki for a while now, before he took the mistake of turning into an ally with no escape. Now Izuku was slumped up against the wall while Katsuki and his friends surrounded him. "We've got you cornered Deku." His friends were snickering to this. Deku was shivering and on the brink of crying. "How stupid of you for turning into an ally, I almost feel bad for you."

Izuku lowered his head towards the ground. It was common that Katsuki picked on him, he did everyday it seemed. Izuku could never defend himself so it was very un-fair. "Please Kacchan... Let me go." Izuku said slowly. He was shaking pretty bad now, he knew all of Katsuki's friends were powerful, but not as powerful as Kacchan.

Katsuki smirked and placed his hand on Deku's shoulder. Izuku winced as he felt a burning sensation slice through his uniform. "After we have a look at that little diary of yours~" Katsuki howled. His friends laughing at his joke.  Katsuki snatched Izukus book out of his hand and opened it up. Deku whimpered and tried to get it back, reaching out for it but to no success. Katsuki grinned as he read through it. "So this is what you write about? All our quirks? All Might too? Some fan boy you are Deku. So sad that you'll never be a hero like All Might. Maybe you'll be lucky enough to have a quirk in another life after you jump off a bridge." Izuku lowered his head and shut his mouth on instinct. His eyes darkened, as well as his whole persona. Katsuki felt this dark energy and chuckled it off, seeing as he really got to Deku with that one.

Rolling his eyes, Bakugou tossed Izuku's book over his shoulder, it landing in a puddle of water conveniently nearby. "You're useless Deku. A good for nothing." And with that Katsuki signalled his friends to leave.

Izuku now being by himself, slid down the building he was against and stayed there. Sitting on the ground in an ally way, rain now starting to pound on him viciously. I'll never be a hero, just give up already. Salty tears started to run down his face in seconds. He started to rapidly wipe them away using both hands to do so. Stop crying you weak useless good for nothing idiot.

"Kacchan's right. I'll never be a hero. Who am I kidding?" Izuku stood up, walked over to his journal and picked it up. Shaking off the water that soaked through all of it's pages. It's completely ruined, but maybe it'll be better dry.

Izuku then took off for home, cold, sad and lonely.

"Izuku where were you? Oh my, you're soaking wet! You must be freezing, quickly take your shoes off and get in the shower. I don't want you to catch a cold." Izuku smiled and scratched his neck nervously.

"Okay, okay, I'll take a shower." Izuku replied. His mom rushing back and forth from all her worry. She settled down however after hearing this.

He took his muddy shoes off at the door and continued up the stairs to his room on the left. He walked in and immediately shrugged off his jacket, hearing it plop against the ground. It must've been heavy from the rain. Izuku's bed was opposite of the door and next to it was a nightstand that contained a lamp and a sock drawer. His dresser was next to the nightstand and next to that was his walk-in closet. It only had dress shirts that were hanging up and shoes that were lined up against the floor. To the right side of his bed was his desk, to which he did his homework at and watched videos. His laundry basket was next to his desk, so he picked up his soaked jacket and tossed it in the laundry basket. He sighed heavily and walked out of his room towards the bathroom that was across from his room.

He shut the door and locked it before looking in the mirror. He saw his reflection staring back. Eyes full of sadness, a frown on his face. He looked like a wreck. Like a failure. His hair was soaked and sticking to his face but he didn't dare to move it. He just stared for a long while before actually taking off his clothes and hopping in the shower.

Warm water engulfed his cold body, pleasing Deku as he got in. Steam was rushing out from the water, indicating how warm it actually was. Izuku put his head under the water and felt it roll down his scalp, the cold rain water being replaced with hot shower water. He then started to think about what Kacchan said.

"So sad that you'll never be a hero like All Might."

Izuku accepted this as a fact now. "I'll never be a hero. But maybe I can be a-"

"Izuku! You're going to run the water cold. Hurry up and get out!" Inko shouted from downstairs. Izuku smirked and turned the water off, engulfed in cold air. Maybe I will become just that~.

*Extra*

"You'll never be a hero Deku." Katsuki grinned.

"Wow that really hurt my feelings Kacchan, how dare you say that?" Izuku frowned.

Katsuki froze. "No baby, it was just for the book, I swear. You can be whatever you want to be..." Izuku grinned.

"Whatever Kacchan?" Izuku engaged his puppy eyes. Kacchan quivered in adorableness.

"Come here baby."

They cuddled endlessly.
