86 Internship pt5

It was the forth and final day of my internship. Checking the class group chat I saw Deku, Shoto and Ida had gotten arrested so that was funny. Momo had shared the pictures she had taken at Uwabami's agencies. Denki had shared an image of him next to a tasered politician.

"^Stop looking at your phone! and get me coffee! We need that energy, eh? Get it? Do you get it?"^"

I rolled my eyes, and ignored Technobabble. I was standing on top of a sparking generator as some construction workers fixed it. I was absorbing the electricity that was coming off of it.

"Can you lift your legs, sir?"

I moved my legs off the edge and one of the workers pulled a cable from a truck and connected it to the generator. I had been absorbing a ton of energy over the past three days. From the serial arson that Technobabble can struggling to find. To situations like the one I was currently in. Honestly this wasn't that bad, although...

It was a little shocking, heh...Oh god the bad puns. Now that I think about it... Mr.Aizawa gave me a note with a decoder on it. So far I hadn't been given any cypher by Technobabble. I spoke into my phone to pretend to be on a call.

"Hey Technobabble what's the deal with you and Mr.Aizawa. He gave me this decoder."

"^Oh hahaha! That was fucking hilarious, okay so for an entire year I communicated to him with encrypted messages just to drive him up the wall.^"

That didn't make any sense? "Why?"

"^Oh it started with this uhhh, Well actually I don't think I can tell you the story...^"

"Then what do I do with this note?"

"^Oh I don't know? What does it say?^"

I pulled out the note from a pocket from the inside of my costume. "It says, 7 a to h, and then its a long string of random letters."

Technobabble was silent for a second. "^What's the letters?^"

"Do you want me to just say each on in order?"

"^Sure go ahead.^" Technobabble seemed a little quieter.

"It starts with an S then an h then u...jhzavy pz klhk, P mvbuk opz ivkf. Svbk Jsvbk'z ivkf pz zapss tpzzpun. P ullk fvb av mpuk vba ovd aol klhk hyl ilpun iyvbnoa ihjr." Getting through the entire jumble of letters Technobabble laughed.

"^Alright cool, cool. I'm gonna need to ruminate on this. Are you almost done over there.^"

I looked at a construction worker. "Hey are we almost done here?"

"Eh...Just about we need to finish with the rubber cement and then you will be good to leave."

I nodded, "Did you get that?"

"^I did, Finch you got the rest of the day off. Figure out what you want to do.^"

"Uhhh okay?" I looked at the note pressing it to memory. If I wanted I could figure it later. I burned the note and let it pass into ash.

I laid on back, it was whatever. I felt charged so I knew if I fell asleep I would go through another evolution. I hadn't really decided on the unit of energy I should convert all my energy into. It honestly wasn't easy since I didn't understand how Joules converted around and that was the main unit of measurement. Then Electricity, Sound and Kinetic energy had their own units. I currently had the most energy stored in heat so for now that is how I stored my energy.

The constant conversion of energy made me kind of tingle. After all I was still absorbing sunlight and the light I get from that is then instantly turned into heat. It was an interesting feeling. The worker lifted his hat. "Alrighty we are pretty much done here. We can get the rest by ourselves."

I nodded and hopped down. "Have a good day." I walked out of the construction site I got a few waves from the workers as I left. If Technobabble wasn't gonna give me anything else to do I guess I'll just walk around. Walking down the street it was a pretty nice day.

Like a kid who tried to not step on the cracks of the side walk I tried to make sure every step I took absorbed kinetic energy. It wasn't a lot of energy, but it gave me practice. Since I had to absorb kinetic energy on connection it was difficult to get used to. Like a rhythm game that is completely out of tune. Other sources of energy I could draw from was sound, so my steps were silent too.

I stepped out of the way of someone on a skateboard. They didn't go past me though and swerved into me. I grabbed both their arms and lifted them from their shoulders. Their skateboard bounced off my foot and I placed the person back down.

"Hehe Thanks... I don't know how to stop yet."

"No problem uhhh, kid?"

The person giggled and pushed down their baseball cap. "I gotta get going, anyway see ya!" She tried to get back on the skateboard, but I stepped on it not letting her go.

"Why are you trying to pickpocket people?"

"Pickpocket, Pshhh. Who does that in this day an age? Can you get off my skateboard, Pretty please."

The last part wasn't a question, but was more of a demand. I grabbed the girl's hat and platinum hair poured out of it. This girl was 9 years old maybe? Either that she had one hell of a baby face. She tried to run, but I grabbed her by the shoulder not letting her go.

"I know Erin has siblings, so I gotta ask are you her sister?"

The girl stopped squirming and paused looking back at me. "You know Sissy? Oh that must mean your in her class right! She..."

"Why are you trying to pickpocket people and should I tell your sister who is trying to become a hero?"

The girl frowned and looked a little sad. "My name is Pola, and no please don't tell sissy."

I nodded, still not stepping off the skateboard. "I never asked Erin, but how many siblings does she have excluding you?"

"Huh! Oh well there is my twin brother Andy. There is a older brother between me and Erin his name is Mauve, but instead of a v it has a j. So its Mauje! Then We have a baby brother his name is Sahara. A little girl in my opinion, but Mom didn't care."

I was getting a relative idea about Erin's family. Specifically their names, they were all based on places I believed. I stared back at the girl, she resembled Erin, but just much younger. "Now how about why you are pick pocketing?"

The girl's expression flickered to four different emotions settling on betrayal. "Hey don't do that! Sissy does that all the time. Asking something nice and then ask something mean. You can't do that! It's unfair!"

I sighed, I still had a mask on. So Pola likely knew who I was if Erin told her anything, but she for now had no idea. I gestured to Pola, "If you tell me why you are pick pocketing people I won't tell your sister. I'm just curious okay, Pola?"

She knitted her fingers, "Hmmm, tell me something Sissy would only tell her friend!"

I had to raise an eyebrow at that. "How would you know what she would say to a friend? After all she has a big mouth and no offense to Erin. She seems like the type to be ignored."

The girl wanted to refute my answer, but I could see the sadness in her eyes. "Damn you are smarter then you look. I'll tell you... but let me pick up my skateboard."

I grabbed her skateboard from under me. "How about I keep it until we finish our conversation."

Pola frowned at me. "You're a jerk." I patted the little girls head.
