6 Battle Trials

As I looked closer I saw the last finger Izuku had on the ball glowed with power. He let go of the ball, sending it blasting forward. Everyone was surprised by his new throw, but I had a smile a mile wide.

"Mr. Aizawa, you see I'm still standing!" Izuku said, smiling through the pain of his broken finger.

-No One's POV-

As everyone was praising Midoriya for his throw and talking about how powerful his quirk is, Bakugo was in shock at what happened. The kid he's bullied for years for not having a quirk suddenly had one and beat his ball throw distance if only by a small margin. Arthur noticed Bakugou shift from shock to anger and his hands giving off small explosions. Before Arthur could do anything to stop him, Bakugo took off sprinting at Midoriya.

"HEY, DEKU YOU BASTARD TELL ME HOW YOU DID THAT OR YOU'RE DEAD!" Bakugo yelled as he ran at Midoriya, who was comically scared from the outburst. Suddenly Aizawa's captured scarf flew in and wrapped around Bakugo's head and chest, effectively restraining him on the spot. "What...the...hell! Why is your scarf so damn strong?!" He strainly asked, trying to break the cloth.

"Because it's a capture weapon made from carbon fibers and a special metal alloy. Now stand down!" Aizawa demanded with a cold glare. "I'd be wise to not make me use my quirk so much, it gives me a serious case of dry eye." He said.

"Too bad that power is amazing!" The entire class said in unison.

"You're wasting my time now. Whoever is next step up." Aizawa said as he released Bakugo from the scarf and walked off to the side again. As the boys stood there Midoriya side stepped Bakugo and quickly shuffled back to the class leaving Bakugo standing there glaring at the ground. Arthur and the gravity girl walked up to Midoriya to check on him.

-Arthur's POV-

"You good buddy?" I asked, looking at Izuku's broken finger. If this keeps up at this rate he won't have anything left of his arms within a few months.

"Yeah are you ok?" The brunette asked Izuku, who just had a dumb look on his face as he babbled trying to talk to her again.

After the ball throw there were still a handful of tests left and I noticed Izuku struggling through the pain as he went. Izuku continued to fall behind while I was almost leading the pack in all the physical tests making me regret the promise to not help him. At the end of the last test Izuku let the strain catch up with him and collapsed on the ground looking up. As he tried to catch his breath I leaned over him. He opened his eyes adjusted to see me looking down at him with a sad smile on my face.

"You look like shit." I said as I leaned down to offer him a hand up.

"Don't remind me." He said as we walked over to the rest of the class to see the results.

"Alright time to give you your results." Aizawa said in an uncaring tone as he pulled the device out of his pocket. "I've ranked you all from best to worst, you should already have a good idea of your standing if you were paying attention. I'll just show you the list, it's not worth going over each individual score." He said as the device displayed a hologram of a chart with the scores. How the hell do they pay for this tech? I was pleasantly surprised to find myself in third place. I didn't recognize the two names in front of me, but I did know the name under me and I was happy that I beat Bakugo over all. I slowly scanned the list and found Izuku dead last. I glanced over at him to find he looked devastated, probably thinking he was going to be expelled.

"And I was lying about the expelling thing. No one is going home." Aizawa bluntly said as he switched the machine off getting blank stares from most of the class as they tried to process that news. "That was just a rational deception to make sure you gave it your all in the test." He said with a creepy smile.

Whether he was smiling because he thought it was funny or enjoyed watching the students panic, I couldn't figure that out. As the class let out a sound of surprise I couldn't help but feel bad thinking I should have said something now.

"I'm surprised the rest of you didn't figure it out. I guess I probably should have said something." The girl next to me said, agreeing with my thoughts. I looked at her and quickly scanned her. The girl was on the taller side of those in the class, but still only came up to my shoulders. She had an aura of edicate about her, and a rather mature figure for a girl our age. I shook the thought from my head before I spoke up.

"I was thinking the same thing. I just thought it was obvious from the start." I said with an awkward grin while scratching the back of my head. We both earned some looks from the class as we talked.

"That's it we're done for today, make sure to pick up a syllabus from the classroom. Read it over before tomorrow morning." Aizawa said as he walked away. Izuku signed in relief as his crisis was over before Aizawa walked up to him. "Midoriya, take this and go see the old lady. Things will be tougher tomorrow when your actual training begins." He instructed as he handed Izuku an office slip.

"Oh no I'm fine there's no need to worr-'' Izuku tried to deny the help as I walked up behind him, took the note from his hand, picked him up, and put him over my shoulder like a sack of potatoes.

"This ain't up for debate, chief. Your mom will kill both of us if you go home with your hand like that." I said as I carried Izuku against his will to the nurses' office. I was probably getting strange looks from the rest of the class, but I didn't care.

-No One's POV-

As Aizawa walked around the corner not caring about the pair's antics he was stopped by someone.

"Aizawa, that was a rotten move." All Might said, getting Aizawa's attention.

"All Might, so you were watching. No talk shows today?" Aizawa sarcastically asked.

"'A rational deception' that's cute, but you're not exactly known for being light hearted, I read your file. Last year you expelled an entire class of freshman students." All Might stated. "You have no problem kicking students out, or anyone you deem unworthy. You were planning to send the last place home." He said going through Aizawa's plan. "SO, That can only mean you see the same kind of potential in Young Midoriya that I do!" He said as he pointed at Aizawa dramatically.

"What is this about? It almost sounds like you've been in his corner this whole time." Aizawa said with a smirk hinting at All Might's favoritism for the boy causing him to falter a bit. "It's a little early for you to be playing favorites." He said as he continued to walk. "He doesn't have zero potential. If he did, I would have sent him home without hesitation." Aizawa said as he got farther away, but before he could All Might asked him something while looking past Aizawa.

"Young Carnell sure does remind you of her, does he not?" All Might asked with his signature smile faltering a small bit. Aizawa paused before he answered.

"...He has the potential, if not more then she did." He said after his pause and looking back. "But if he doesn't take this seriously and focus, he'll end up the same...I'd rather not watch that happen again." Aizawa said as he walked around the corner.

As Arthur finally reached the office he opened the door without a care and placed Midoriya in a chair.

"I said you could put me down and I'd walk myself, like halfway here." Midoriya said to Arthur.

"Yeah, but it embarrassed you so it was fun." Arthur said with a shit-eating grin on his face as he leaned on the wall next to the door. As they were talking, Recovery Girl did her thing and Midoriya suddenly felt exhausted.

"That's how my quirk works. It stimulates your ability to heal, but healing takes energy. Not my fault, that's just how the body works." Recovery Girl explained.

"Is that why he had to rest here after you healed him at the exam, ma'am?" Arthur asked from his spot on the wall to which she hummed in agreement.

"Too many big injuries and your stamina will be shot and then you'll die instead of healing. So be careful~" Recovery Girl said as she gave Midoriya some candy.

"This could kill me?!" Midoriya panicked after hearing this. She then gave Midoriya some bandages over his finger. As the boys left Arthur popped his head back in the door.

"Excuse me ma'am, but could I get some of those gummies you had during the exam?" Arthur asked with a pleading smile.

"Why of course dear, and because you asked so politely here have what's left of the bag." Recovery Girl said as she handed him a sandwich bag full of said gummies. "Make sure not to spoil your dinner." She said sternly as she waved a finger.

"Of course, thank you!" Arthur excitedly said as he pulled one out of the bag. "Oh, the blue ones are the best!" He exclaimed as he left the room getting a chuckle from Recovery Girl.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Soon after everyone had changed and collected their belongings both Arthur and Midoriya were walking out of the school. Midoriya was slouching over, ready to pass out, and Arthur was simply shaking his head at him.
"I'm so tired." Midoriya breathed out.
"That's what you get for pushing yourself too hard and breaking your limbs again." Arthur scolded as he pinched the bridge of his nose. "I mean seriously we got to figure this out before we're both in hospital beds, you from hurting yourself and me because of the stress." He said, sounding like he is Midoriya's parent. As Arthur scolded Midoriya someone put their hand on Midoriya's shoulder making them turn around.
"Oh hey there Iida." He greeted nonchalantly waving his hand.
"Greetings, Carnell." Iida quickly said while holding his arm at a right angle and waving.
"What's up?" Arthur asked.
"I am here to ask Midoriya how his broken figure is doing." Iida said, turning to Midoriya.
"Oh it's fine now thanks to Recovery Girl. Thanks for asking." Midoriya said as he held up his hand. With that they continued walking together.
"I was a bit concerned by Aizawa's approach to class, but I trust the school's decision. After all, UA has the best program." Iida said with a hand on his chin. "But lying is down right immoral." He continued crossing his arm over his chest.
"I'd have to agree with you there Iida, but I'm sure Aizawa has the best intentions." Arthur said as he popped a few gummies in his mouth.
"Heeeyyy!" As the three heard this they stopped and turned around to see the brunette from class running up to them. "Wait up you guys! Are you going to the station, I'll join you!"
"Oh you're the infinity girl." Iida said as she caught up.
"Yep! I'm Ochaco Uraraka. Now~ let's see you are Tenya Iida." She said as she looked at said boy. "And your name is...Deku Midoriya right, and you're his brother?" She said to the other too causing Arthur to laugh loudly at Midoriya's embarrassment and her thinking they were brothers. "What's so funny?" Uraraka asked with a pout on her face.
"Sorry, sorry, it's just that you called him Bakugo's insulting nickname for him." Arthur said as he wiped a tear from his eye from laughing too hard.
"Well that's very unsportsmanlike." Iida commented, rubbing his chin again.
"Oh I'm sorry I didn't realize!" Uraraka apologised scratching the back of her head. "But you know what, I like Deku. It'd make a great hero name, plus I think it sounds kinda cute~." She said, making Midoriya go bright red.
"Deku it is!" Midoriya yelled out, making Arthur laugh again.
"Just like that?! But a moment ago you said it was an insult!" Iida tried to reason with the human beet.
"It's a paradigm shift, my whole world is upside down!" Midoriya said, covering his face like an embarrassed school girl. Arthur continued after he caught his breath.
"And no, we're not brothers just best friends. My name is Arthur Carnell. It's good to put a nice name to a nice girl." Arthur said with a wide close eye smile.
"Really? It's just the way you two act like brothers, it's really sweet." Uraraka said with a smile, making Midoriya almost pass out again.
Soon the new group walked to the station together and talked. Arthur was relieved to see Midoriya actually getting along with more people making their friend group bigger. Even though Arthur had problems making friends when he was younger, he and Midoriya had been there for each other since the beginning of middle school.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The next day they started their core classes like English that was taught by Present Mic. Mic quickly caught on that Arthur was from America and said he couldn't answer any more questions so the rest of the class could learn something, Arthur just fell asleep for the rest of that period. The rest of the classes were pretty boring until lunch. The lunch room was run by the pro hero Lunch Rush making it real cheap to get some great food. Both those things got Arthur's mouth watering. As Midoriya was geeking out about meeting another pro, Arthur was stuffing his face with as much food as he could get his hands on. Iida watched in horror as Arthur inhaled enough food to feed at least eight people in a matter of minutes and then tried to get more only to be denied by Lunch Rush.

After lunch it was time for the last class that goes until the end of the day, Hero Basic Training. As the class was waiting for the teacher to show up suddenly the door flew open.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-Arthur's POV-
"I AM HERE, coming through the door like a hero!" All Might yelled out as he busted in the room. The class started getting really excited to be taught by the number one hero.
"We really are getting taught by Allmight!" A boy with blond hair and a black highlight said.
"This year's shapin' up to be good!" A boy with red spiky hair said.
"Hey is that his silver age costume?" The girl with frog-like features asked. I was wondering when he was going to show up. I looked at Izuku who had the geekiest smile on his face, even though we have known All Might personally for almost a year now.
"Welcome to the most important class at UA high, think of it as Heroing 101. Here you will learn the basics of being a pro and what it means to fight in the name of good." All Might said as he stood at the podium. "Let's get into it!" He said while striking a pose. "Today's lesson will pull no punches!" He said well holding up a card that said "Battle Training''.
Isn't it too soon to be doing something like this. Then again the best way to get accustomed to it is to dive straight in. An excited smile formed on my face.
"Fight training!" I heard Bakugo yell while Izuku was behind him, starting to panic.
"One of the keys to being a hero is looking good!" All Might said as he pointed at the wall that began to open up showing number suit cases presumably for each student's seat number. "These were designed for you based on your quirk registration forms and the requests you set in before school started." He explained as the class cheered. As I scanned the wall I saw there were only twenty and started to wonder where my case was. "My apologies Young Carnell!" All Might said as he pulled a case form under the podium. "There won't be enough room to fit yours until we have someone come and rectify that." He said as he handed me the case labeled twenty-one.
"Thanks All Might!" I said as I looked at the case in my hand with a gleam in my eye.
"Now suit up and meet me at training ground Gamma!" All Might said to the class as he left the room.
Soon everyone got into their hero costumes and was walking through the tunnel to the training ground to an awaiting All Might.
"They say that clothes make the pros, young ladies and gentlemen and behold you are the proof!" All Might said watching the students come closer. "Take this to heart, from this point on you are now all heroes in training!" He said as the class came into the light. "It's getting me so revved up. You all look so cool!" he said as he looked at the class. I looked around the others and I had to agree.
My hero costume was nothing fancy, just something simple that didn't inhibit my movement in the field which is what I asked for with my own flare thrown in. The costume consisted of Daisy Bush purple boxing trunks that fell just below the knee that had a cerulean vertical stripe with three black squares on both sides going from the coff to the cerulean waistband with two black dots offset to the side and a matching Daisy Bush sleeveless jersey that had the cerulean stripe continuing up the sides. There were no shoes or gloves with the outfit besides the white cloth bandage wraps going from my knuckles to just after my wrists leaving my fingers and thumbs exposed and on my feet going up past the ankle leaving the balls of my feet and toes open to the ground. Looking at how they met my requests to the T, I remembered a few weeks ago when Izuku and I were going over the paperwork for all of it.
-Flashback-
-No One's POV-
"We need to go to city hall today to get our registration forms for the clothing allowance." Midoriya said from the couch as he was looking through his paperwork while Arthur, who was sitting on the floor, looked up from the paper he had in his hands inquisitively, both in loungewear. For Midoriya that meant a white pull over hoodie and sweatpants, for Arthur that meant whatever he slept in the previous night, which was a worn t-shirt and plaid pajama pants.
"Aren't you registered as having no quirk though?" Arthur asked, looking at Midoriya.
"AHH you're right, what am I going to do?" He asked worriedly while darting between his papers. Arthur put the paper in his hand down and called up All Might on speaker, while Midoriya stressed out, and after a few rings he picked.
"Yes my boy what is it?" All Might asked as he answered his phone.
"Yo, All Might quick question. What do we do about Izuku's quirk registration still saying he's quirkless?" Arthur asked over the phone.
"AHH Arthur don't be so casual with THE All Might!" Midoriya let out hearing how non-chaluat his friend is with the number one hero.
"Ha Ha! None to worry Young Midoriya, it is actually quite refreshing." All Might said with a chuckle.  "And to answer your question you can update the registration, it's not a problem." he explained.
"It's that simple!?" Midoriya asked, surprised.
"You know how everyone is examined and tested before they enter Elementary school? There are plenty of cases where people's quirk aren't exactly what they thought they were at first." All Might elaborated while Midoriya nodded his head even though Allmight couldn't see him.
"My aunt had to update mine for me before I got into Junior high because it still said all I could do...was cause earthquakes..." Arthur added sadly towards the end.
"Yes exactly. They'll let you change it once or twice once you understand your powers better, but if you were quirkless before I'm sure they'd want you to update things." All Might explained. "Look, just march in ther-"
"Hi, I'm home!" Inko called from the front door and Midoriya panicked and hit the end call button before she overheard them, but also slapping the phone out of Arthur's hand.
"Dude my phone!" Arthur yelled scrambling after it to see the damage.
"Sorry!" Midoriya squeaked out as Inko walked in. "Hey mom" he said, turning to her.
"Oh good you're here and hello Arthur." She said as she walked in.
"*sigh* Good afternoon Mrs. Midoriya." Arthur breathed out relieved that his phone didn't shatter as Inko pulled a green and white jumpsuit out of her bag.
"Congratulations, Izuku! I'm so proud you got into UA." She said with a smile on her face.
"Woah is that a costume?!" Midoriya asked as he stood up.
"I guess I might have jumped the gun a little bit. I brought you food earlier, but you had dozed off and I may~ have peaked at your notebook." Inko admitted while Arthur snickered from his spot on the floor. "To be honest with you, I've been feeling terrible lately because of something said to you. I think you might have felt I gave up on you awhile back. But look at you now, you persevered and kept chasing your dream like a real champion." She said, tearing up. "I'm sorry Izuku, but I promise to cheer you on with everything I got from now on!" She finished.
"Moms are great, aren't they?" Arthur sadly thought in his head with a tinge of pain in his heart.
"Oh and they couldn't make anything in your size Arthur, so how about you decide what's for dinner." Inko said looking at him.
"Chicken curry with jasmine rice!" He replied in a heartbeat making Inko giggle.
"How'd I know?" She said holding up the bag in her hands that had all the needed ingredients ready.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

-Arthur's POV-

"Now should we get started, you bunch of newbies?" All Might asked the class, drawing me from my head. I turned around when I heard running behind me. I saw Izuku in a green full-body jumpsuit with a red belt, elbow pads, knee pads, and gloves, along with his signature red boots. He also had on a mask with long ear-like protrusions that resembles All Might's haircut, and a respirator with a makeshift smile on it that also reflects that of the said hero. I couldn't help but stifle a laugh.

"Dude, could you make it any more obvious?" I laughed out quietly as I walked up to him.

"Hey Deku, Hey Carnell!" Uraraka said, walking up to the pair. "I love your costumes, not too flashy, you know?" She said in a sweet voice.

I looked at her and saw her costume. Her hero costume consisted of a black full-bodied suit with a pale pink design down the middle of her torso, two black dots on her chest and a black rectangle below her waist, running between her legs. There are two more pink patches over her shoulders, both cut off by darker pink armbands that match the thick choker around her neck. She had circular wrist guards, a dark pink handle on the back of each one, wide knee-high boots with magenta soles and a two-piece belt around her waist, a circle embedded into the center where the pieces join up, a helmet with a tinted visor over her head, all of which are the same pale pink color.

"I should have been more specific with what I wanted, this suit is skin tight. It's not really my style." She said. I saw it was indeed skin tight and I felt some pink dash on my face. Suddenly the small purple haired kid popped up again and gave a thumbs up to an invisible crowd.

"I love this school." He said as I got a wind up and kicked him towards the rest of the class.

"Little gremlin." I growled out scowling and turned back to Uraraka. "Your's looks great too. Hey, we even match a little." I said pointing to the two black dots on our costumes.

"*gasp* You're right! It's so cute!" She said looking between the two of them. "I wonder what that's about?" She asked, tilting her head to the side and putting a finger on her chin.

"I believe your costumes were made by the same designer and that's more or less their signature. I think Bakugou's has those dots too." Izuku explained, making me look at said ash haired punk.

Bakugou's costume is composed of a tight, black, sleeveless tank top, with an orange "X" across the middle, forming a v-neck. There are two dots along the left line of his collar, indicating the support company that designed his costume. His costume also had a metallic neck brace worn with rectangular ends that have three holes on each side. His sleeves reached from within his large grenade-like gauntlets to his biceps. His belt, which also carries grenades, held up his baggy pants with knee guards, below which he sports black, knee-high combat boots with orange soles and eyelets. His mask is jagged and black, and as it goes around his eyes, a large, orange-rimmed flare shape protrudes from each side.

"Yay~ great~" I said, my voice dripping with sarcasm as I rolled my eyes.

"Now that you're ready it's time for combat training!" All Might called out getting the class's attention.

"Sir, this is the fake city from the entrance exams. Does that mean we'll be conducting urban battles again?" Someone asked, quickly holding up their hand at a perfect angle. That must be Iida, no one else moves their arms like that.

Iida's hero costume consisted of a black one-piece suit with a high collar, over which he wears various pieces of armor, all a pale silver in color, including a chest plate, a metal collar around his neck and another around his upper arm, and metal vambraces that extend past his elbows, pointed at the ends. He wore a helmet covering his entire face, its sharp bevor full of holes to allow him to speak and breathe easily, and its upper piece rounded over his head with two larger holes on either side, two curved horns just behind and a single spike sticking out of the back of his head. On his feet, he wore silver knee-high boots with gold accessories, which are specialized for his quirk, and around his torso, he has three thick metal pipes, attached with a blue band, although those only look like they serve as decoration. His armor looks very lightweight and does not protect him much. Its main purpose must be to cut down air resistance rather than to protect him.

"Not quite, I'm going to be moving you two steps ahead. Most of the villain fights you see are outside, however statistics show the most dastardly villains take place indoors" All Might explained. "Think about it, backroom deals, home invasions, secret lairs." He rambled off. "Truly intelligent villains fight from the shadows. For this training exercise you'll be split into teams of good guys and bad guys, and fight two on two indoor battles, with the exception of one team of three." He said as he instructed the class on the activity.

"Isn't this a little advanced?" Frog girl asked.

"The best training is what you get on the battlefield, but remember you can't just punch a robot this time, you'll be dealing with actual people now." All Might elaborated.

"Sir, will you be deciding who wins?" The girl with the ponytail asked.

"How much can we hurt the other team?" Bakugo barked.

"Do we need to worry about the losers getting expelled like before?" Uraraka concernedly asked.

"I wonder if Lunch Rush will let me have the leftovers after school?" I thought out loud.

"Will you be splitting us up based on chance or comparative skill?" Iida questioned.

"Isn't this cape très chic?" Sparkle boy asked. All Might started to get overwhelmed with all the questions.

"I wasn't finished talking!" All Might choked out as he pullwe a script from his back pocket. "Here's the deal. The villains will guard a nuclear weapon they intend on deploying and the heroes must stop their scheme; if the heroes capture the villains or reach the nuclear core before time runs out, they win; if the villains manage to keep the nuclear core for the whole time or they capture the heroes, they win." This sounds like a cliche action movie. "Time is limited so teams will be decided by lots." He said, holding up a yellow box titled "LOTS!''.

"There has to be a better way to go about this." Iida protested.

"Think about it, pros often have to team up with those from other agencies on the spot, so maybe that's the reason we're seeing it here." Izuku argued back.

"I see. Life is a random series of events. Excuse my rudeness." Iida said bowing robotically.

"Buddy, you need to lighten up a little." I said putting a hand on Iida's shoulder.

"I fail to see what me losing weight has to do with the current situation, but your concern is noted." Iida said without looking at me.

"...Are we sure he isn't a robot or something?" I said as I leaned down to whisper to Uraraka making her cover her mouth and laugh.

"No sweat, LET"S DRAW!" All Might shouted.

"Can you please dial it back to like a 7 or something?" I asked with a sweatdrop down the side of my head.

"NEVER!" All Might yelled louder and pointed at me.

Everyone went up and drew lots for what team they would be on. Izuku and Uraraka were on team A. I had hoped to be teamed with Izuku but I knew things didn't always work out like that. I drew my lot and got put on Team I. I looked around for them and found who I was supposed to be with. It was the boy with the tail from the test yesterday and a floating pair of gloves and boots. This will be interesting.

"Hi my name's Arthur Carnell, looks like we're on a team together." I said with a warm smile to the two in front of me.

"My name Mashirao Ojiro, nice to meet you Carnell." He said very politely. Ojiro's hero costume was a plain karate gi, tied with a black belt, its collar partially lined with fur.

"I like your costume, it's simple just like mine." I said, offering a fistbump to Ojiro that he gladly accepted.

"It's super nice to meet you Carnell, my name is Toru Hagakure." She said pointing her thumb at herself. "I'm sure we're gonna win with the three of us!" She cheered out in an infectiously peppy voice getting a healthy chuckle from me and Ojiro.

"While I absolutely love the attitude, we should still see who we are up against and make a plan." I advised while trying to rein in the invisible ball of energy.

"Oh right, duh. Sorry." She aid while putting her hand to her head as if to say 'Oh silly me'. All Might wrangled the class back to announce the match ups.

"I declare that the first teams to fight will beeee--" He said as he had both hands in different boxes labeled "Villain" and "Hero". "THESE GUYS!" He yelled with a flourish as he pulled out a black ball that read "D" and a white one that read "A". I started to get  worried as I saw what teams were going. This won't just be an uphill battle for Izuku, Bakugo is probably going to actively hunt him down. As I thought I put my hand on his face from worry. "The teams can head to their starting points, everyone else can go to the monitoring room to watch." He instructed. As I walked past Izuku I put a supportive hand on his shoulder and gave him a nod. I quickly noticed Bakugo glaring at Izuku who shied away, but then glared back making Bakugo surprised.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After a few minutes All Might gave the okay  to begin, Izuku and Uraraka went into the building through an open window, which starts off the Trial.
"Alright pay close attention kids and think what would you do." All Might said to the class behind him. A few minutes later Izuku and Uraraka were walking down a hall and suddenly Bakugo ambushed them and unleashed an explosion aimed at Izuku, but he pushed himself and Urarka out of the way although half of his mask was blown off in the process. The class starts to comment on the match. Thankfully now I know all of their names from listening to the teams being announced.
"A sneak attack, Bakugou. What kind of man pulls cheap crap like that!" Kirishima said.
"I mean so far he's playing his role. In a real fight with a villain I really doubt they'll give common courtesy a single though while they're trying to kill you." I said cold and analytically without breaking my eyes away from the screen, sometimes I get like this when I'm trying to think.
"Still..." Kirishima said trailing off and looking back at the screen.
"He's right Young Kirishima, a villain will not hesitate if given the advantage, but heroes are expected to act with a certain level of decorum." All Might agreed, trying to turn Bakugo's acts into a learning opportunity.
"It didn't work, Midoriya dodged it look!" Ashido said excitedly looking at the scene. I wish I could look at the match with that level of interest, but I was too worried for Izuku.
Bakugo prepares to attack again, but Izuku intercepts him, grabbing his right arm and throwing him onto the ground using his own momentum and knocking the wind out of Bakugo. Bakugou always leads with a right hook according to Izuku's book so he came in with a solid counter because Izuku still can't use his quirk without hurting himself. A small smirk escaped onto my face at that moment.
"You devious little shit, Izuku." I said out loud, a little louder than I intended. They stood there and it looked like they were having an argument, but sadly there was no sound for the class. It's probably better they don't hear what they're talking about because I had an idea of what they were saying.
"Hey could we get some sound or something with these, and who is Bakugo talking to?" Kirishima asked with a little bit of a whine.
"Young Bakugou is conversing with Young Iida through an earpiece I provided them before the match, along with this." All Might explained as he held up a roll of tape. "If the villains or heroes wrap this around their opponent they are captured and therefore out." He explained further.
"So let me get this straight the heroes have 15 minutes to find the bomb, have no idea where it is, and if they get wrapped up they're out." Ashido elaborated.
"...Every possible odd is against them going in. Yesh." I realized.
"Heroes have to out wit villains on a daily basis. We rarely have the odds in our favor, but we fight." All Might said, exciting the class and lifting their spirits.
Bakugo launches at Izuku with an explosion to attack again. Uraraka takes advantage of this and goes to find the objective while Bakugo is distracted. Izuku responds to Bakugo by trying to use the capturing tape on his leg, but Bakugo easily breaks free using an explosive right swing, which Izuku manages to dodge thanks to his analysis on Bakugo's fighting style.
He knew that wouldn't work, but did it anyway to test the water. I tried to think why he would do that until it dawned on me. "He's trying to lead him away so Uraraka can find the bomb. Smart.
Knowing his opponent is too powerful, Izuku retreats to think of a strategy, much to Bakugo's obvious anger.
"He has some real anger issues, it's kinda scary." Kirishima said.
"He's apparently been like that since he was a kid, I was told it's because of how big his ego got when he got his quirk. So whenever something comes along and threatens to pop that big head of his he just lashes out." I explained while I watched the screen as Bakugo blew a door off its hinges.
As Izuku was keeping Bakugo busy, Uraraka had reached the room where the nuclear core was with Iida guarding it. Uraraka decided to stay hidden and wait for Midoriya. However, Iida managed to spot Uraraka after she gave away her location when she giggled from Iida's strange villain performance. Iida was prepared for Uraraka's arrival and had given the floor a thorough cleaning, preventing her from tricking him.
Izuku, still hiding from Bakugo, appears to contact Uraraka who is directly above him it seems from the cams. Bakugo eventually found Izuku, and after a few seconds of talking Bakugo lifted his arm up and readied an attack. I was worried those gauntlets weren't for show.
"What's he doing?" Sero asked.
"Bakugou's quirk makes it so his sweat is like nitroglycerin and can detonate it." I explained with a hint of worry it's my voice. "That means if he builds up enough he can set off an explosion big enough to reduce the build to a crater!" I finished earning gasps from the class.
"Young Bakugo, don't do it! You'll kill him!" All Might yelled over the microphone, also picking up on the urgency of the situation. But Bakugo pulled the pin in the bracer with a devious grin on his face unleashing a huge explosion which destroyed a great portion of the building they were in. Izuku managed to survive, but not without massive burn marks.
After Bakugo unleashed his huge explosion, Iida and Uraraka felt the aftershock. Uraraka, seeing that Iida is distracted on his comm, decided to make a run for the core, but Iida saw this and tried to stop her. Uraraka jumped above Iida using her quirk. As she reached the core, Iida grabbed it away from her using his quirk. With no time to strategize and realizing that Bakugou is far too strong for him, Midoriya tried to escape, but found himself cornered with nowhere to run.
"Sir, isn't this getting out of hand?" I asked All Might looking up at the screen.
"Yeah that Bakugo is acting really crazy, he might kill him." Kirishima added.
"Not so." Is all he said in response. "Bakugo, if you use that stored up power again I will stop this fight and your team will lose. To employ such a move indoors is inviting the destruction of the stronghold you should be protecting." All Might said sternly into the mic.
Bakugo appeared to be angered by this and charged straight at Izuku. He backed his punches with explosions on contact giving even more force behind the hits. During Bakugo's complete onslaught he used the momentum of his explosions to power his movement as well, as impressive as it was, I was far more worried for Izuku. Now that there are no other options remaining, Izuku had no choice but to use OFA. He and Bakugo charge at each other and Izuku went to swing but diverted the punch to the ceiling while Bakugo's explosion hit him, destroying his arm in the process.
Izuku's punch destroyed the floor where Uraraka and Iida were on with Uraraka holding onto a pillar for safety. She then, using the pillar thanks to her quirk, smacked debris at Iida who became distracted by it. Uraraka jumped over the distracted Iida and grabbed the nuclear core. All Might declared the hero team's victory, much to Bakugo's shock.
Back at the monitor room, after Izuku lost consciousness and was carted off to the nurses' office, All Might critiqued the fight and said that Iida was the best during the match and posed the question of why to his students. Yaoyorozu answers the question, saying that Bakugou and Midoriya using large ranged attacks in an indoor area was too idiotic; Uraraka's game plan got loose halfway and her last attack was far too reckless if it were a real bomb. She said that Iida was the best for adapting to the situation the most as well as developing a counter strategy for his opponent. I was honestly impressed that someone paid as much attention as I had to the match and came up with such a detailed critique that fast. Bakugo looked like he was dead in the water, while Iida was ecstatic to be getting the praise he did.
All Might then started the next battle which is the hero team of Todoroki and Shoji against the villain team of Ojiro, Hagakure, and myself. As we were walking to the new building, I looked over at our opponents, not liking the cold and eerie feeling given off by Todoroki. Shoji's quirk was obviously his mutanion, but Todoroki was almost a complete mystery because he barely used it the day before. Given my limited clues I put together it was some form of ice quirk, going off of his costume.
We got into the room where our bomb was and I quickly took inventory of our surroundings. I bent down and was glad to find the building was made of concrete with larger stone particles, giving me a large amount of control over it.
"Okay given what we know of the other team we should come up with a plan." I said as I stood back up turning to my team.
"I'm all ears." Ojiro said as Hagakure hummed in approval.
"Alright here's what I think. We know very little about Todoroki, so using Hagakure's invisibility, we can have her shadow them easily from the start and feed us info. In this kind of situation info is invaluable. Can you do that?" I asked, turning to the girl, hoping I was minding where I looked.
"Yeah I can totally do that, no problem!" Hagakure said, giving a thumbs up.
"Great. Now Ojiro, you can wait a few floors up and try to intercept them wit--What are you doing?" I turned to Hagakure while giving Ojiro his part only to see her taking her glove and shoes off.
"I'm getting serious, just don't look o-ok?" She asked shyly.
"It's not like there is much to-" Realizing what I was going to say I immediately shut up and turned around, with it clicking in my head I was standing in a room with a naked girl.
Ohgodohshitohfuck! Why the hell was I about say that!
"WHAT WAS THAT!?" Hagakure yelled hearing the words come out of my mouth.
"Look alive kids!" All Might yelled through the comms as a buzzer went off signifying the timer started.
"We'll go over this later, now let's get into position quickly." Ojiro said trying to be the voice of reason now.
"Hmph!" Was all we heard from Hagakure as we assumed she left the room.
As things quieted down I closed my eyes and focused on the ground attempting to feel any kind of vibrations through the concrete. I couldn't tell exact positions, but I could tell rough locations and if they are moving. Feeling something extremely off with the.lower levels and approaching very fast I tried to warn Ojiro.
"Get read--!" But I was too late as a thick layer of ice came through the room as Ojiro's feet were now frozen to the ground. In an attempt to act fast I covered my feet in a thin layer of stone to act like shoes as the ice reached me.
"OW OW OW My feet are stuck!" Hagakure cried from the corner.
"His quirk is insane." he complained, trying to get his feet free.
"Dammit, you're here too Hagakure? Okay calm down I'll figure something out!" I said trying to take control. Suddenly we heard footsteps, so Ojiro and I got into the best stances we could. Todoroki soon came in the door calmly walking to the bomb.
"Try and fight me if you want but good luck with no skin on the bottom of your feet." He said coldly with a cocky smirk on his face as he waltzed past Ojiro who didn't even try to put up a fight, knowing he was outclassed.
Did he come here by himself? Cocky bastard. We might still have a chance. I quickly made a new plan and waited for Todoroki to walk past me.
A little closer...
Closer...
Now!
As Todoroki came close enough I jumped, ripping my stone covered feet free and delivered a haymaker to the right side of Todoroki's head shattering the ice formed on it, knocking him a few meters away.
"Carnell your fee-" Ojiro stopped when he looked down and saw I had covered my feet in stone and broke free without hurting myself.
Not giving Todoroki a moment of breath, I covered my hands in rock up to my forearm and rushed at him to deliver a solid cross and hopefully finish the fight fast. Using my dominant hand to get a little more oomph behind the cross, I took my rear hand and, aiming towards Todoroki's chin, punched the hand across my body with speed thrusting my rear shoulder forward. At the same time, I took my lead hand and pulled it back and tucked against my face. My torso and hips rotated counterclockwise as the cross was thrown, only for it to be blocked by a shield of ice that shattered with force on contact with the stone covered fist knocking both of us backwards.
Todoroki recovered from the shock of the attack and quickly sent a wave of ice at me, only for it to stop when I slammed my foot down making waves of concrete spike from the ground stopping just short of Ojiro, Hagakure, and the bomb almost breaking the ice holding it and them down.
"You're better than I thought." Todoroki commented ready to send another wave of ice, really pissing me off.
"And you're too fucking cocky. Let me guess, is Shoji even in the building right now?" I asked, getting ready as well.
"No, he is not. His help was unnecessary as I can handle this alone." He said matter of factly. God I hate this guy almost as much as Bakugo.
I quickly jabbed the air three times making three football sized stones fly out of the wall at blinding speeds behind me at Todoroki. Todoroki dived out of the way as the rocks blasted past him shattering the ice on the wall he was in front of and leaving indents. Regaining his composer Todoroki prepared to send a large blast of ice at me.
"Time to end this." Todoroki said standing up only to see me closing in faster than he must have thought, without realizing it I made more rock form up my right arm all the way up my shoulder, I just really wanted to put this guy in his place.
"Took the words right outta my mouth!" I roared as I reared my arm back. As the punch was inches away from Todoroki's face I was frozen up to my head, not covering my face so I could breath. Todoroki then dealt a hard ice covered punch to my exposed stomach making me spit up and knocking me out.
-No One's POV-
Todoroki let out a breath of frosted air as he walked over to the bomb and put his hand on it.
"The hero team w-wins!" All Might yelled over the intercom through his chattering teeth from the cold they felt in the observation room alone. Todoroki then began to give off heat, slowly unfreezing the room. He walked over to Arthur and began to thaw out the ice around him.
"G-get...t-them...first." Arthur said through a breathless voice. Todoroki looked at him surprised as he saw the ice begin cracking and nodded. Walking over Ojiro and Hagakure he melted the ice at their feet quickly.
"Hey what about Carnell-" Hagakure tried to say as a loud shatter rang out making her and Ojiro look at the boy breaking the ice off of himself. His skin looked to be a duller color at the moment, signifying the beginning of frostbite. Suddenly two robots rushed in and carried Arthur off to the nurses' office to get him treated fast if any symptoms had already set in. Arthur laid on the gurney trying and failing to keep his eyes open.
-Arthur's POV-
I woke up to arguing voices in the nurses' office. I tried to stand but found I couldn't move, apart from sitting up on the bed. I looked down surprised to find I had been swaddled like an infant in multiple layers of thick blankets.
"What the hell..." I let out trying to remember what happened. That's right I lost. Dammit.
"Hey, you. You're finally awake." All Might said as I looked up. It was him in his true form and Recovery Girl.
"How are you feeling~?" She asked in her usual sing-song voice.
"Like a weird burrito. What's up with this?" I said trying to break free from the bundle.
"We had to warm you up slowly or who knows what would have happened." All Might reasoned, pulling out his phone and taking a picture of me wrapped like a baby.
"Hey delete that or we're going to find out if I can kick your ass in that form!" I protested struggling further, but to no avail.
"Language young man. Now lay back down and rest." Recovery Girl sternly said, giving me the stink eye.
"*sigh* Yes ma'am." I said as I reluctantly did so.
"Now back to what I was saying. Day two and he is already a regular patient. Why didn't you stop him All Might?" She scolded All Might about his protege. I looked over to the bed across from me and saw Midoriya asleep with his arm wrapped up and an IV in the other. I felt a pang of guilt even though I wasn't the cause, it still hurt seeing him like that.
"You're right, Recovery Girl, I'm sorry." All Might said through his coughing.
"Well it's no use apologising to me." She said, turning to Izuku. "He's too exhausted from his match to use my quirk, it can't fix everything in one go. I gave him first aid, but after the IV is finished we'll have to wait for his body to recover overnight." She finished.
"I'll make sure he gets home alright." I said trying to ease her worry.
"*sigh* At least one of you three cares for his well being." Recovery Girl said with a sigh and then a smile. "Come on All Might I know you passed your power onto this boy, but you can't spoil him." She said, turning back in her chair.
"I'm trying not to play favorites, but I was trying to think of his feelings though. He needed to see he was capable of winning the exercise." All Might said, rubbing the back of his neck. "By the way could you not talk about One For All where anyone could hear!?" He said in a hushed tone.
"Like that guy in the doorway?" I asked from my bed making All Might panic and dive behind a curtain. "Ha! That's what you get for the picture!" I said with an evil smirk on his face.
"Not funny, kid." All Might hissed out as he wiped the blood he spit up on his chin.
"Yeah yeah I know Mister Natural Born Hero, Mister Symbol of Peace." Recovery Girl sarcastically replied.
"Not many people know about my injury and this weakened form apart from the UA faculty and a certain group of pros. However only a select few people know the secret of One For All. These being you, the principle, and a very close friend of mine. Young Midoriya and Carnell of course, but no one else knows the truth of my powers." All Might explained.
"You're the number one hero in the world, does it really matter if you were born with that quirk or not?" I asked from the bed.
"If they knew it could be transferred the temptation would be too much and corrupt our society. Those who wield it are responsible for mankind's safety." He said looking into his hand.
"If that is the case then it is even more important for you to be a good guide to the boy." Recovery Girl responded.
Arthur looked over at Midoriya lying across from him.
Only those with One For All are responsible for mankind, huh. Not if I can help it. I thought as I drifted back to sleep.
