30 Chapter 30: Training (I)

Two days later, the school class was close to the end of the day. The homeroom teacher was giving his last speech before ending the lesson. Izuku wasn't really paying attention though. Just this morning, he did his workout with All Might and then went to school as always. But he was told to go to Nighteye's office to continue his training over there.

He wondered what kind of training he would do with Nighteye. He began using his notebook to look at the diverse hero abilities he wrote. He didn't have much information on Nighteye apart from the little things that were shown on the TV.

A few minutes later, after the class had ended, Izuku was walking out of the school while his head was buried in his notebook. He was reading his old training regiment and wondered what kind of change would be made. As such, he was deep in though and didn't pay attention to where he was walking to.

*Bump*

He hit something, or rather, someone and then fell down, a little disoriented.

"OI!"

Izuku could recognise this voice everywhere. Even if he heard it in the crowd of millions, he would still recognise it.

"Ka-Ka-Kacchan!"

"THE FUCK DEKU! DAMN NERD! ARE YOU SO STUPID THAT YOU CAN'T EVEN SEE WHERE YOU'RE WALKING?!"

Many old traumas resurfaced in his mind, making it difficult for him to answer. He was, frankly, a little terrified. He thought that their relationship would become better than ever since the accident back then, after all, Kacchan stopped bothering him since then. But it seemed like it was just in his head.

He began to take his things that fell from his bag in silence, but when he was on the verge of taking his notebook, a foot was placed on it.

"OI DEKU! I'M TALKING TO YOU!"

Seeing this, Izuku felt anger boil inside of him for the first time. This was a gift from All Might. What's more, there was his old training plan on it. One could say that this book had his dream in it. As such, how could he let anyone destroy it? A burst of courage burned in his head.

"G-get your f-feet off t-this book."

He said quietly. It was the first time he ever told Kacchan to do something, though he still stuttered his words. However, Katsuki was, apparently, not happy with his reply.

"AHHH?! THE FUCK DID YOU SAY?!"

Katsuki looked down and found this book. He had stepped on it by accident, but seeing Izuku fight for his rights only angered him further.

Seeing Katsuki become angrier, Izuku's burst of courage instantly burnt out. There was nothing he could do. He was just a person without a quirk. All men were not created equally. This was the reality that had ever existed since the beginning of time, and the difference had only increased when quirks came about. This was the hard reality that he learned at the young age of four. But what could he do? He was nothing without a quirk...

*****************

"Pathetic..." A shadow outside had observed everything that happened to All Might's successor. He was a clone of the original, but it didn't mean that he was a puppet. No. He was not as powerful as the original, but he could defeat most pro heroes, not including top heroes like All Might of course. He was what the society considered 'above average'. The original was anything but average.

He had inherited the quirk of Zafkiel, and gained the ability to manipulate time and shadow, not that it worked on the original. He remembered the time where a hundred clones with powers similar to him tried to defeat the original. The result? They were absolutely crushed. No matter how they try to distort space, time or even reality, they could not put a scratch on him. Within ten minutes, a hundred clones could be seen on the floor, wiped out.

He shivered at the thought of it before turning his attention back to the successor. He suppressed a sigh. He was given the order to protect this boy. As a temporal clone, he knew what the original's thoughts were. Even if they didn't like his character much, he was, after all, still the successor that All Might has chosen. Currently, All Might was on the other side of the country beating up some villains, and the original wanted to ensure his safety in case an accident like the mud villain ever occurs again.

As much as he didn't want to do the job, orders were orders, and his job was comparatively much simpler. The other clone had to scout out foreign countries to try and find his origin. They had searched for five years but to no avail. But the original wasn't worried. The world was huge after all, and even after a few thousand years, the planet still wasn't fully uncovered.

Switching his focus back to job once more, he sighed again. 'It seems that I'm sighing a lot more lately...'

Nighteye looked up from his PC when he heard a knock at his door.

"Sir Nighteye, Midoriya Izuku has arrived." A cheerful and bubbly (literally) girl entered the room without even waiting for his response. She is a fairly well-built young woman with a rather slim build, and her skin is light blue in colour. She has short, ruffled dark blue hair that curves upwards and downwards around her head, parted to her left, and wide yellow eyes with thick eyelashes.

She is currently wearing her hero costume which consisted of a skintight dark blue crop top with a white high-collared section, a zipper down the middle over the higher part of her chest, which revealed her torso from the underside of her breasts down. She wore black tights with loose white shorts, two yellow markings down the either side of them, and thick white boots with lines running down their shafts, yellow rings in the centre of them. Over her entire face, she wears a transparent visor with an air filter on each side, and on her hands she wore a pair of plain dark blue gloves.

Nighteye didn't even flinch at this scene. He had gotten used to his sidekicks bursting in like that ever since they joined his agency. "Oh? Bring him to the training room. His instructors are waiting for him. Tell him that All Might's busy today, and would only visit him during tomorrow's training." He said as he walked past the door and towards the lift, where the button only showed a single direction: Down.

Entering the lift, he immediately pressed the lowest button present, the 5th basement and within a minute, the door opened again.

Inside, he could see an empty space approximately the size of a football field and right in front of him, the star of today: Izuku.

He saw his depressed expression but didn't want to know what happened to him. His job was to find a trainer for him, not be friends with him. Since time was running out, he went straight to the point,"Midoriya, follow me."

After crossing half of the football field, Izuku was surprised to see three other people already present there. Nighteye opened his mouth and spoke,"Let me introduce you to your training team."

"This man is nicknamed Sebastian. He will be in charge of your fitness and martial arts training." Nighteye said while pointing to a tall, middle-aged man with a moustache and an eyepatch over his left eye. He was wearing a black suit that gave him an impression of a butler. Izuku thought that he was an actual butler with the butler-like name, butler-like appearance and butler-like actions after seeing him give a low bow after being presented.

"The woman next to him is Melissa. She will be in charge of your nutrition and relaxation."

"Hello there young man." She gave a smile and a light wave of her hand. She was wearing a gothic dress and had long pink hair.

Finally, Nighteye pointed to the last person and said,"This woman, Meliena, is the head of this team. She is from the same generation as me. Her power is equal, if not greater than Recovery girl herself. The sole problem is that her quirk has it's limitations which you'll find out later."

The woman looked more like a child than anything else, and Izuku would probably be deceived by appearance if not for Nighteye's reminder.

"Moo...Mirai! How many times did I tell you not to casually reveal my age?" She pouted at him before turning towards Izuku and gave him a wink,"Don't listen to that old guy. I'm eternally fourteen."

Izuku looked at the girl who could pass as his little sister with his mouth hanging open. So she was what people of culture called a 'legal loli'?

"Remember to not let her looks trick you. Her quirk is called [Holy Pain], and if you are as intelligent as Shido said you are, you would probably already guess what her quirk is related to."

Izuku shivered. He knew that any quirk with 'pain' in their name wasn't a good thing. Add the word 'holy' into it? It was probably a healing quirk that hurts a lot. He started trembling after seeing the three people eye him like wolves eyeing their prey.

'Am I the prey to be devoured?'
