Aura

Cloud walked out of the building by himself thinking about what Izuku said, he sighed, it was the ugly truth, it wasn't that he didn't care about the people who cared about him, he just said the truth. He would continue until he died, there was no other option, either he lived or he died fighting.

He walked the streets and looked at the people walking around, he saw many couples, he smiled at the thought of Mei being with him, he thought about Nejire and Toga, he tilted his head in thought, he didn't feel the same way he felt with Mei. Toga was more of a mutual sympathy and Nejire was more of a friend, he didn't know how she felt but he knew that he didn't feel that way about her.

Cloud couldn't say that she wasn't beautiful, she was but it wasn't the same. He felt a positive feeling towards her, more like close friends that argued all the time. He nodded, that's exactly what it was, the strange situations he found himself in with her were pure coincidences, there was nothing special. He nodded again trying to convince himself "Definitely. That's what it is, just a coincidence!"

He assured to himself and continued walking by himself towards U.A, lost in his thoughts, completely unaware of the approaching duo. Suddenly he was tackled to the ground and Izuku said "What are you thinking saying that!?" Cloud chuckled and said "You hunted me down just to say that?" Eijiro said "This is serious." Cloud sighed "It's the truth, that's how I feel. I either live or die fighting." Izuku was silent and said "You're going to leave everyone behind?"

Cloud said "I'm not going to try and die while fighting. If I can escape while everyone else is safe then I will do so." he chuckled "I'm not an idiot." Izuku let him go and Eijiro let out a breath and said "Good." Cloud got up and shook his head saying "You're going back to U.A?" they nodded and the three walked back together.

A while later

Cloud walked into his room and saw Mei sleeping in the bed with a big t-shirt on, he smiled warmly as he gently laid on the bed and hugged her, she smiled in her dreams and snuggled into his body. He sighed with a smile as he muttered "I love you Mei.. so much." while kissing her forehead, he was the happiest right now. If he could live like this forever he would be the happiest guy in the world, he sighed, unfortunately that wouldn't happen, he cleared his head and rested his chin on her head as he hugged her close and slowly fell asleep.

He woke up to Mei sleeping on top of him and drooling on his chest mumbling "Cloudy~ he looks just like you..." Cloud was confused and whispered "What looks like me?" Mei grimaced "Our baby you idiot.. Why did I marry you.." Cloud was stunned and just stared at the ceiling, he never thought that far ahead, he had no idea what to think, the thought of that kind of future made him happy. He shifted Mei onto the bed and sat on the edge, thinking to himself.

He got up and left the room quietly with no destination as he was lost in his thoughts. He ended up in the training room, he decided to train as he calmed himself down. While he was training, he kept going up in weight unknowingly, he didn't know that's what Mei thought of. He was sure she would never tell him that, he frowned as he pushed himself to the absolute limit. Even he himself didn't know what his limits were anymore, but he knew it was enough.

At that moment something changed in Cloud. He thought about what happened earlier in the day and frowned at his selfish thinking, he thought about all his friends in the class and out of his class, his adoptive parents, Aizawa and Emi, and finally Mei. He never thought about the future and having a family, he knew they all cared for him but it was a foreign concept to him.

Being abandoned because of the way he was born was the first harsh lesson he learned in his life, he might act like he was all chummy on the outside and having fun but the truth was he was still on guard at every moment. Mei and Aizawa were the only exceptions, while he wasn't completely unguarded, there was significantly less vigilance towards them and as a result, he didn't care if he died if he could take a villain with him. He was selfish because he still subconsciously thought of himself as the abandoned alley boy.

Cloud's eyes hardened as a determined and unstoppable aura exploded out of his body, he wasn't going to die a graveless death. His perspective changed, he was going to live, not for himself but for everyone who cared for him, for Mei, his eyes turned bloodshot as he punched the wall and screamed, he would live for his future! His aura bubbled up and compassed the whole building, it changed to an invincible aura as the blurry image behind him got a little more clear and slowly took shape, it was still impossible to tell what it was though.

Meanwhile in the dorm rooms above him

Katsuki, Shoto, and Izuku were in their separate rooms and felt Cloud's invincible aura, their own auras seeped out in retaliation as they felt pressure they had never felt before. They left their rooms and went to the training room with heavy steps, they didn't say a word to each other and trained themselves, working on their quirks as well as their bodies while their auras tempered themselves on Cloud's. The images behind their backs started to take shape as well as the four trained silently, refusing to give up to the other like 4 sworn enemies, constantly sharpening themselves against each other for the most powerful position.

Cloud stopped and he walked out of the training room, he passed through the crowd that got woken up from his aura. His aura surged and pressed down on the other three and the crowd as the image behind him grew bigger and more defined, the other three grit their teeth as they started sweating heavily, their auras rose explosively as their images grew bigger in defiance. Cloud grunted and his aura exploded before receding into his body, overwhelming the other three and leaving the crowd in a daze as he walked away, tyrannically.

Cloud returned to his room after a shower and saw Mei sitting on his bed, waiting for him. She smiled and spread out her arms towards him, there was no need for words between them. Cloud closed the door and held her tightly, she felt something was different but it seemed like a good thing, she held to him tightly and smiled happily feeling closer to him than she ever was before.

Cloud laid down with her in his arms and closed his eyes with a smile as he drifted off to sleep, Mei snuggled into him again and fell asleep as well.

The next day

Cloud was sitting at the lunch table with the rest of his class and staring off into space, the rest remembered how they felt last night and were curious, they wanted to know what that was. Izuku, Shoto, and Katsuki were silently eating, under immense pressure, two of them didn't even get their licenses and were behind the other two while Izuku refused to give up to any of them. Cloud's very existence stimulated him passed his limits again and again, he was forced to get more serious and ditch the shy boy who dreamed of being a hero, he stood up and left without a word towards the training room, the only way to pass him was to train even harder than he did.

Katsuki and Shoto watched him go and left as well, Cloud watched them go out of the corner of his eyes and smirked, after last night, his goals changed, he didn't want to be just any hero. His eyes lit up with a fanatical brilliance, he would be the strongest hero. He smiled to himself at the thought before he saw Nejire walk into the cafeteria, he made a straight face and looked at her, their eyes met and Cloud stood up, walking to an empty place, it was time to fix this issue.

Nejire watched him go and understood, she followed after him and arrived at a private place.

Cloud looked at her and they said at the same time "I like you/think we should be friends." Nejire froze and Cloud sighed as he rubbed his temples, Nejire looked like she was going to cry, he hugged her and whispered "I can't leave Mei, not after everything we've been through.." Nejire was silent but sniffled a bit, Cloud held her shoulders and looked into her eyes, she looked at him and teared up.

He felt really bad, he didn't want this, he wiped away her tears and said "I..." he sighed, he couldn't say anything, he muttered "Why me out of all people.." she looked at him and said "I don't know, it just happened.." Cloud looked at her heartbroken appearance and felt his own heart hurt, he knew he couldn't escape this anymore, he pulled her in and said quietly "It makes me feel sad to see you like this." she hugged him tightly and he said "We can be friends and just see what happens."

She broke off and looked at him, he said seriously "I won't leave her." Nejire nodded and said "We're friends?" Cloud nodded and Nejire looked around, seeing there was nobody, she pulled on his collar and kissed him quickly before running away. He was stunned, he wasn't expecting that. He walked through the halls aimlessly, angry at himself. He walked into Mei's workshop and sat down absentmindedly, without making a sound, she noticed he was here after a while and sat on his lap saying "Hey baby, how are you?"

Cloud chuckled hopelessly and said "Confused and angry." Mei frowned and said "Why?" Cloud looked at her and sighed, he bit the bullet and said "Nejire kissed me." Mei froze and said "What." Cloud nodded and explained their chat, he finished by saying "I love you more than anything else. I don't know what to do. If I lose you..." he teared up and continued sadly "I don't know what I would do..."

He looked at her and said "You're my everything. Especially after last night.." he told her what happened at the meeting and what he told Izuku and the rest before telling her what he decided yesterday night, he shook his head and closed his eyes as he added "It's all for you." he teared up and dripped on to her overall legs, he told her the truth, he simply couldn't lose her.

Mei looked at him as she listened to what he said, she didn't know what to say, this was the man she loved. She was embarrassed that he heard her sleep talking but was shocked at his change, she figured out why he felt different when he came back last night, she was happy but also conflicted, she was angry, sad, and concerned all at the same time. She looked at his crying appearance, she could tell he didn't want this but nevertheless it still happened.

She cupped her hands on his cheeks gently and tilted his head up to her face, she looked at his puffy red eyes, that only had remorse filling them, and felt her heart tighten. She kissed him gently and hugged his head saying "It's okay my love..." he hugged her tightly and she felt wet spots form on her shirt, it was the first time she'd seen him cry. Truthfully she was a bit happy that he told her right away instead of keeping it from her.

Mei stroked his hair and rested her chin on his head as she said "I love you baby." Cloud looked up and kissed her deeply before saying "I love you too.. I'm sorry." she smiled slightly and touched her forehead to his as she said "We're partners forever aren't we?" Cloud smiled a little too and said "And ever." she smiled brightly and they kissed softly before Mei leaned her head on his shoulder and Cloud closed his eyes, soon falling asleep.

Mei smiled and felt his warmth enveloping her body as he pulled her in close and tight as if she would disappear if he let go. She sighed, now she had another problem to deal with, she frowned as she thought of a solution before letting out a breath and falling asleep in his embrace peacefully.
