3 Training

Cloud woke up the next morning and sat up. He looked around him to find himself in an unfamiliar environment. 4 walls and a bed. How long had it been since he slept in a bed? He didn't particularly like the change as it brought variables along with it. He might be a 10 year old child but he wasn't naïve enough to think that he was being taken in out of the kindness in Aizawa's heart.

Which only cemented the fact that he didn't know Aizawa's intentions. After all, nobody just picks up a rat off the streets and brings it home with them... Unless they had other motives.

Cloud's eyes flashed as he got out of the bed, wearing only shorts and clenching the hilt of his katana tightly. He slowly crept to the door and cracked it open before scanning the hallway, seeing nobody was there he slowly walked out and made progress to the stairs, trying to be as soft on his feet as possible.

He got to the stairs and poked his head over the railing, seeing the hardwood of the first floor. He locked his knees on the railing and hung his upper body off the side, scanning the first floor in all directions before flipping to the ground and landing softly, still clenching tightly on the hilt of his katana, ready to fight at a moment's notice.

Cloud slowly walked towards the table and looked at the food on it before sniffing lightly and narrowing his eyes. He wasn't going to eat food someone else prepared for him, there was no chance.

He looked around for Aizawa but didn't find him, this made him suspicious. Where could the guy have possibly gone? Cloud frowned and a list of options appeared in his mind as he thought 'Police? Child services? Hospital?' He ruled out all black and shady places immediately as he didn't think there was a need for Aizawa to bring him to his house and give him a false sense of security before selling him off.

Hospital was also the least likely of the choices. First of all, he didn't know which hospital he was born at and whether the hospital even still had the records of his birth was a question. Cloud felt like his parents would have already taken care of that after they left. Abandoning a child wasn't a crime but it was a bad mark to have on your name and if his parents abandoned him for not having a Quirk then they definitely wouldn't deal with ridicule from their peers.

Cloud shook his head and cleared his mind. He didn't have parents, they were just incubators as far as he was concerned. He quickly forgot about them and made his way towards the kitchen. Aizawa's house was relatively simple, a two floor house with a backyard training space. The first floor had a couch, a table, and a kitchen, while the rest of the necessities were upstairs, bedroom's shower, etc.

Cloud opened the fridge and quickly stole some fruits before devouring them and throwing the remains in the garbage. He backed away from the kitchen and sat in the corner he fell asleep in while keeping his vigilance up the entire time as he waiting for Aizawa to return.

A while later

The front door creaked open and Cloud tensed up, he calmed down as he thought of his retreat plan. His eyes were locked on the front door as he watched Aizawa walk in with a few bags. Aizawa looked at Cloud in the corner before ignoring him and closing the door, entering the house.

Cloud looked at the bags with suspicion before looking at Aizawa, who turned his head and said "You didn't eat?" Cloud just stayed silent and Aizawa sighed before throwing the food in the garbage and adding "We're starting training today. You want to be a hero? Now's your chance."

Cloud narrowed his eyes and Aizawa said plainly "Why? Simply because I want to. You're an interesting kid. Is that a good enough response?" Cloud stared at him for a moment before slowly nodding.

Aizawa pointed to the sliding glass doors and said "Go to the backyard. We're starting right now." Cloud didn't say a single word and slowly walked to the sliding door before opening it and poking his head outside, scanning the entire backyard.

Aizawa watched from the side and said nothing. When Cloud felt it was safe he poked at the ground in front of him with his katana, seeing nothing happened, he slowly stepped outside and kept poking the ground where he walked.

Once he made a full check of the entire backyard, he turned around and looked at Aizawa, who was staring at him with a tired look. They looked at each other for a few seconds before Aizawa spoke "No Quirk?" Cloud just nodded and tightened his grip on his katana.

Aizawa noticed his reaction and nodded before saying "Alright." he moved to a shed in the backyard and pulled out a series of weights and machines. When he was done, he looked at Cloud and said "Weighted training to start and build up your muscle mass. You have to eat what I give you to eat or you'll look like a bean pole for the rest of your life. Get started on push-ups with the heaviest weight you can manage."

Cloud slowly walked over and stopped a few meters away from Aizawa before staring at him silently. Aizawa walked away from the weights before turning around to look at Cloud.

Cloud walked over to the weights and tested a few before choosing one and putting it on his back as he got into push-up position with his katana clenched in both hands with his knuckles directly on the ground.

Aizawa watched as Cloud struggled before finally doing 10 push-ups with 50 pounds on his back and collapsing. He directly said "Sit-ups" Cloud got in position and held on to the 50 pound weight before doing his reps, maxing at 6. Aizawa nodded and said "Pull-ups" Cloud looked at the pull up bar and held the katana in his mouth before securing the weight with his feet and grabbing onto the pull up bar. After a supreme amount of effort, Cloud was able to do 2 pull-ups.

Aizawa stood straight with his hands behind his back as he watched, his thoughts were hidden from the world and nobody knew what he was thinking. Cloud sat on the ground and looked at Aizawa with an indifferent look.

Aizawa nodded and said "We got a lot of work to do. Promise me you'll eat what I give you." Cloud stared at him for a long time before slowly nodding, Aizawa nodded and said "Good, let's start."

After that, it was Hell.

Cloud got weight, combat, weighted combat, sword, and weighted sword training. All while eating thick protein rich meals 3 times a day. As the time went on, Cloud's body slowly filled out and he grew taller, leaner, more muscular, and flexible.

Over the course of 5 years, Aizawa and Cloud's relationship became more like a father and son type. Regardless of how either of them felt, Cloud never spoke more than 3 words to Aizawa and in turn, Aizawa kept his sentences on the shorter side, occasionally telling him to take a break and relax.

It was very strange because both of their personalities were more introverted and they both didn't like to waste words and in the case of Cloud, use them. Nevertheless, Cloud felt a little warm to the man who picked him up from the streets, clothed, and fed him for 5 years. If asked what he thought of Aizawa, he would most likely stay silent but on the inside he would absolutely answer 'Father'.

Aizawa was a little tricky to understand because of his reserved and lazy nature, coupled with his constant tired vibe but he also feels that Cloud is like a son to him. Of course, they would never say anything about it. It's just the way they were.

5 years after Cloud started training.

Cloud sat up on his bed, his hair a mess and all over the place. He yawned and got out of bed before walking into the bathroom and taking a shower. When he got out he looked at himself in the mirror.

He was 15 years old and stood tall at around 5'10. His hair was roughly the same and his bangs covered over half his face while the rest fell onto his shoulders. His body was extremely muscular and slender, only having the necessary amount of muscles for explosive power and speed but almost every inch of his body had scars, even his hands, arms and legs. The only parts of his body that wasn't scarred was his back and most of his face.

Despite his hair covering half his face, he could still see and his jawline was sharp and clearly visible. He was clearly a handsome young man based on the lower half of his face. He stared at himself for a moment before brushing his teeth and walking out of the bathroom to his room and getting dressed.

He wore a black zip up hoodie with a white t-shirt, stretch jeans and sneakers. He looked at himself in a mirror before walking down the stairs. Today was a big day!

Cloud walked down the stairs and sat at the table before eating the plate of food that was left there. Aizawa walked into the house with a long object covered in cloth. Cloud looked at him skeptically as he ate his breakfast.

Aizawa walked over and left the clothed object on the table before walking up the stairs saying "Good luck." Cloud watched him go before unravelling the cloth, revealing a sheathed katana! Cloud made an 'O' with his mouth before unsheathing the blade.

The entire katana was pitch black with the only exception being the blade itself, which was a shiny silver. Cloud looked it over, flipping it back and forth before finally sheathing it and grabbing the cord on the sheath and walking out the door without even a word.

Cloud stood outside the door and fiddled with a phone in his hands before plugging in ear phones and listening to music. He slipped the phone in his pocket before pulling up his hood and walking away from the house.

Today was the entrance exam for UA, the hero school. Aizawa managed to pull some strings and get Cloud in, but he had to perform well or else, even if he was the principles son, he wouldn't get in. Cloud had no problems with this and was actually quite excited on the inside, with his constant blank face you would never be able to tell.

While he was walking, a green haired boy passed him in a hurry and tipped over his own feet. Cloud watched as the boy fell forward only to be magically lifted up and placed back on his feet. The green haired boy was confused and looked around to see a brown haired girl smiling at him. The green haired boy blushed with a silly smile and thanked her.

Cloud ignored the 'love at first sight' couple and walked into the UA school courtyard. He looked in front of him and saw a huge group of people. He couldn't hear what they were saying but they were definitely talking about something.

He looked up to see a man with strange hair and a set of speakers on his neck. Cloud took out his ear phones and heard "Hah! I'm.. not.. late!" he didn't even have to turn his head to know it was the green haired boy from before, who was currently holding his knees as he panted heavily.

Cloud glanced at him for a moment before looking up at the man with speakers for a neck. The man coughed and spoke "Hello, future students! My name is Present Mic and I'll be the MC for this year's exam! It will be broken into two parts! The physical and the written! Allow me to explain the rules!"

The crowd quieted down and looked at Present Mic intently, Present Mic grinned and said "The physical test will be based on points! Enter the testing zone and defeat as many villains as you can within the time limit! Easy enough, right? Your time starts now!" The group was startled and immediately started running towards the testing grounds.

Cloud watched them all run away before following along leisurely, fiddling with his phone and plugging his ear phones in before disappearing into the wrecked city scape.
