7 Aizawa's test

"Minoru-Chan, be careful..."

Minoru stopped at the door and lowered his head, he turned slightly to the side and looked at his grandpa from the corner of his eyes.

"Mm." He nodded and left through the door.

Seeing Minoru leaving to study at U.A. made Terumoto sigh deeply, first his daughter, then his grandson... He could only pray that the same fate never reached him, the world looked grey but it was even worse when you knew what happened behind the curtains.

...

It was finally here, it was the first day of what he trained so hard for.

If someone wanted to be a hero, there was no better place to go, he could already picture himself there somehow, although he was almost sure things wouldn't be as he imagined, in a way or another, he wasn't Minoru from the anime, this time he doesn't have to resort to that kind of behavior.

The bus arrived and he went inside, after seating at the back, he looked through the window and smiled slightly, his mind was a little bit weird today, for some reason he remembered his previous life without a reason.

It was mindblowing how similar he was to the original Minoru, in a sense, he didn't hate that character anymore, in fact, he felt like they were brothers separated by the imagination of an author.

After some time he finally stepped out of the bus, U.A.'s gate was just a few meters away and it felt taller than ever. He imagined how it would feel like if he had never watched the anime... would he feel so excited as the green-haired boy just a few steps away from him?

Or would he feel like the ice queen Todoroki? He coughed and tried to hide his smile, how pathetic, to laugh at your own joke... Sigh...

Ignoring what just happened he went past the boy and entered the school. He had already memorized the school map, so he easily made his way towards the classroom, and oh boy, why did they build 4 meters tall dors!?

He truly wondered if there was ever a student so naturally big that they had to do this...

Going inside there were already some people in there, actually, the only ones missing were Midoriya and Ochaco. He didn't even look at the mess Ida and Bakugo were doing, he sat down at the nearest seat and put his backpack below the chair.

Aizawa's test should be starting anytime now, so there was no need to think about it for now. What he didn't expect though was that someone would start talking to him so soon.

"Hey, say... Aren't you that boy using two swords back at the practical exam?"

Turning around Minoru almost gulped seeing who it was, Kaminari Denki, was he in the same battle center as him? Oh well... he could only attribute this to fate.

"U-uh, that's right. Were you also in battle center G? I don't think we crossed paths at that time."

"Hehe, man, first of all, I gotta say, that was fricking cool! You looked like those ninjas or samurai from the animes! Using two swords, shouting your special attack, it was awesome!" Denki smiled, his eyes were shining somehow, and not metaphorically speaking, it was happening quite literally. "And yeah, I was in the same battle center as you, however, I was inside one of the nearby buildings when the zero point thing started, I watched everything from there."

Before Minoru could reply, Aizawa entered the classroom with Ida, Izuku, and Ochaco, he looked at everyone, and with a voice that could make even the most energetic people fall asleep, he said. "Nice to meet you all... I'm Aizawa Shota and I'll be your teacher..."

"Uh..." Almost everyone muttered at the same time, even Minoru felt a bit shocked with his introduction, if it was more energetic than that, someone might have died of shock...

He threw a large yellow bag on the floor and said, "Wear one of those jumpsuits and follow me."

...

Aizawa explained his reasons for bringing everyone there, some people were shocked, others started questioning him about the entrance ceremony and orientations, and for all of them, he had only one answer.

"If your objective is to become a hero, you don't have time to waste with such useless things. U.A.'s strongest point is breaking the norm. That's how the teachers teach. Besides, you kids do those kinds of things since junior high school, don't you? Physical tests where you weren't allowed to use your quirks... Humph, the Ministry of Education is dragging down this country for such a stupid thing as fairness, there is no such thing in real life."

Aizawa sighed and took his phone from his pocket. He looked at Bakugo for an instant but his focus changed towards someone just a few steps away from him. "Usually I'd have started with the one who scored better in the test, but today I'll do it differently.

"Mineta, come here."

"Eh?" Hearing his name being called, he gulped and went towards him.

Everyone looked at him and started whispering. "Wasn't that guy the one in third place?"

"Eh? Is that so? He must have a powerful quirk."

Aizawa looked at him and a small smile appeared on his face. "Your performance was exciting from my point of view, honestly, of everyone here, you're probably the one with the least potential."

"What!?" Hearing Aizawa's words, everyone gulped and looked at Minoru with shocked eyes, they couldn't understand or even believe his words. Denki was especially startled after hearing his words, what the hell was this teacher talking about? He saw him leading two people two destroy a fucking 12 meters tall robot using just weak quirks!

Minoru frowned slightly but didn't say anything yet, he didn't want to judge this teacher so fast, perhaps there were more to his words than he or the others could understand at the moment.

"For that reason, I will tell everyone here and now that whoever has the worst result in the test will be expelled from U.A."

"What!? You can't do that!" Someone shouted.

But the vast majority started trembling, especially so those who had less powerful quirks, at that moment they could pretty much feel a towering pressure on their backs. One misstep and they might have to try U.A. again next year.

"Now. Mineta, as I've previously said, of everyone here I believe you're the one with the least potential, your quirk is being wasted with you, if anyone with training could be a hero, you would see countless people with useless quirks running around saving the day, but that's not realistic."

He threw a ball towards Minoru and told him to stand on the X mark inside the circle drawn on the ground. "Throw this ball and use your quirk to assist you, if you can't find a way for your quirk to help you in this process, you'll be expelled here and now."

Minoru looked at Aizawa with wide eyes, honestly, he never felt so thrilled before, he could feel the adrenaline pumping through his heart crazily as his body seemed to have just entered the turbo mode.

'So that's Aizawa Shota in one hundred percent teacher mode huh...' Minoru thought, however, despite the shock on everyone's face, he simply smiled. You could criticize his personality, but not his methods, in such a place like a hero course, if you weren't willing to give more than your best, and risk everything to become a true hero, then... You shouldn't have signed up for the test, to begin with.

It might be seen as unfair, or even straight-up bullying but he is actually preventing the weak and incapable of pretty much killing themselves.

"But, that's unfair! It just the first day and... actually, even if it wasn't this would still be unfair." Ochaco shouted.

Aizawa looked at her for a moment and slowly spoke with a clear tone so that everyone would hear him. "Natural disasters, big accidents, egocentric villains. Those are all unpredictable calamities. Japan is filled with unfairness. The only ones who can reverse this situation are the heroes.

"If what you want is to talk with your friends during the break, I'm sorry to say that it won't happen. For the next three years. U.A. will do everything it cans to make you face as many problems as possible. Go beyond. Plus Ultra. Get out of the average group and overcome whatever comes." Aizawa smiled as everyone's heart started to shake with excitement.

That was U.A. the best hero school, if they wanted to succeed, they would have to take this seriously, there was no other choice.

"Now, if there are no more questions, Mineta, you can start."

Nodding Minoru looked at his feet and brought his right hand towards his head, he touched his curly purple hair, feeling the strands, he grabbed the nearest part that was more concentrated and the hair strands instantly fused and became a purple ball, as soon as he took it out, the hair instantly grew and covered that part, he took another one and threw then just a few centimeters ahead of him, one for each foot.

Seeing this, Aizawa's eyes became focused and he looked with attention at what he was doing.

Then, Minoru took out his shoes and his socks, seeing this everyone became confused, what was he doing? Wasting no time he jumped four meters high, and he fell on top of the balls, at that moment they looked at him in shock as he suddenly bounced on it and flew up almost 8 meters while spinning.

Somehow he let the ball go unaffected by the centrifugal force of his spin and managed to kick it with all his strength.

The people looked at the ball in shock as it flew away extremely fast. Minoru then perfectly fell on the ground and looked at the ball flying.

After some time the ball fell to the ground. Aizawa was smiling as he saw what Minoru did, he was indeed right about this boy, if only everyone could be like him, his job would be much easier.

He turned to the others and spoke as he showed them the number on the screen of his smartphone that shown '320 meters'. "This is the most rational way of boosting the potential of a hero."

"Seriously? 320 meters, that's incredible!"

"Uh! How did he do that?"

Aizawa smiled and pushed his hair upwards, out of his sight. "Now that everything was explained... Welcome to the hero course of the U.A.!"

...

50-METERS DASH

After everyone had finished running it was finally Minoru's turn.

The robot at his side started speaking once he prepared two purple balls on the ground to jump at. "Ready. Set. Go!"

He gave the first step and jumped on top of the balls, thanks to the angle he was launched straightforward and arrived at the finishing line at 4.79 seconds.

"Mm, this quirk can give him a very interesting mobility." Aizawa thought to himself.

GRIP STRENGTH

Denki was making his best but only managed to achieve 45 kg, looking to the side, his eyes almost popped off once he saw the strength Minoru managed to achieve!

He wasn't the only one, Yaoyorozu Momo who was nearby and using her quirk to create a machine to do this for her was also surprised with how much grip strength he had. Even without the help of his quirk, he managed to achieve 136 kg, only behind Shoji Mezo who achieved 540 kg.

Unfortunately, he was soon surpassed by her, as her machine achieved 300 kg of grip strength.

STANDING LONG JUMP

Minoru, Bakugo, Asui, Aoyama, Ojiro, and Yaoyorozu all cleared the sandbox.

REPEATED SIDE STEPS

In this one, Minoru took the spotlight for himself, no one managed to compete with him and his super side step technique called 'Parallel pile of bouncing balls'...

Everyone's eyes twitched once they saw what he did, it felt like he was cheating... in the end, they could only sigh...

BALL THROW

After Bakugo launched the ball and got the best score so far, with 705 meters, surpassing this way Minoru. It was then Uraraka Ochaco's turn.

The little girl took a ball and smiled slightly as she simply threw it towards the sky with a lazy movement, making almost everyone blink in confusion until they saw the ball floating straightforward towards where she threw it with non-stopping momentum.

At some point, the ball disappeared above the clouds and Aizawa showed then the infinite result.

"What the hell!"

"Wow! Her score was infinite!"

"That's amazing!"

"Now it's Midoriya Izuku's turn."

Hearing Aizawa calling his name, the green-haired boy gulped and went forward.

Minoru observed him as Tenya Ida started speaking about his situation. He was right about him, due to his lack of control things became really bad for him.

However, that wasn't what he was really interested in, what he wanted to know is how the power accumulation quirk within one for all worked, how could a quirk continually evolve and adapt itself? If the first owner became immortal and trained non-stop, would he have achieved an accumulated level of strength comparable to what it currently holds?

What was the logic behind such power? And how far could it go? Besides... what purpose did it had in terms of body enhancing elements? Such a level of strength would require bone and muscle density way above what is humanly capable, so could one for all slowly adapt its user body as he trains? In fact, did it made the whole body stronger overall so as to make it capable of bearing the strain of the level of power?

As he questioned this matter in his head, Midoriya had already thrown the ball once and was about to do it again, it seems that Aizawa stopped his quirk and gave him a lesson about injuring himself and becoming a burden after saving just one person.

Interestingly enough, Midoriya did had the power to make people's heart waver, the look of determination in his face and the powerful wind generated by the accumulated strength in his finger plus him shouting 'smash' and pretty much showing everyone he bases his quirk on All Might, combined to make a quite memorable scene.

Seeing how his finger became he could tell that it was pretty much broken in many places, still, if his own body generated so much strength, his finger would have disappeared instead...

As he considered this matter, Bakugo started running towards Izuku, his hands creating one explosion after the other. In the end, Aizawa intervened and forced him to calm down.

"Alright everyone, let's continue." After saying those words, they were then forced into doing three more tests, distance run, seated toe-touch, and sit-ups.

Of which, Minoru did well in all three of them.
