Chapter 17 Recommendation Exam 3

After the speed test, students moved to another room. It was a very big room where a single machine was attached to a metallic wall.

"Next is to test your power. All you have to do is to use all the force to the metallic wall." Ajax explained then started to call the names of the students.

"Who do you think can be a good challenge?" Momo asked.

"That windy man or icy boy," Rex said.

"His name is Shoto Todoroki. He is currently son of ranked 2nd hero, Endeavor." Momo said then added, "He is looking at you."

"Well Endeavor got his position when mom took the retirement so maybe he has some grudge against me," Rex said and Momo chuckled.

Rex knew that Endeavor despised Bisha to the core. Strength wise, Bisha was close to All Might. Endeavor tried his hardest to challenge Bisha and defeat her but she easily blew Endeavor when he first challenged her and after completely defeated by a woman, he never dared to challenge her again.

"Momo Yaoyaorozo."

She nodded and walked to the metallic wall. She opened her shirt and took out big cannon.

'Noice.' Rex thought and took a deep breath to calm someone.

She fired cannon and made a dent in the wall. After that, she came back and looked at Rex to say something to her.

"Nice," Rex said with thumbs up.

"Thank you." Momo nodded.

"Rex Kinzoku."

Rex was next. He walked to the wall and asked Ajax, "Can I punch it from some distance?"

"Yes. as I said you have to show your full power."

"I don't have to pay if thing broke right?"

"Kid, this machine can absorb pressure up to 3 tons. And no you don't have to pay." Ajax said with a smirk.

Rex nodded and formed Punk Busters on his legs.

[Punk Busters B: The punk busters are a pair of massive orange super boots with the following functions:

1 They have retractable spikes on the soles and also jet boosters on the heels to considerably amplify Rex's kicking power and speed.

2 They allow you to jump hundreds of feet into the air or jump across ten square blocks.

3 Like a hydraulic cylinder, the punk busters can have its foot extended to kick enemies away.

4 They are so strong, a stomp is enough to dismantle its surrounding or cause rising fissures accurate enough to repel its target.]

[Smack Hands B: The smack hands are massive orange gauntlets that Rex can transform either arm into (preferably both) with the following functions:

1 They have a gripping force of 1.2 tons.

2 They offer different size, length, and flexibility according to your desire.

3 They can absorb a massive amount of force.

Secondary function: Battle drill

The drill mode allows the smack hands to function as high-powered drills and add additional power behind his strikes. You can use this to easily drill and travel through underground pathways. Since smack hands are already sinkable, you can use drills to quickly propel and drag him underwater when wanting to reach a destination at a certain speed.]

Rex felt great using this machine. He bent a little and kicked the ground. while in the air, he disassembled Punk Busters, formed big Smack Hands, and punched the wall.

BOOOM

With a big explosion, the machine behind the wall exploded and the wall was bent in 90 degrees.

Everyone was speechless at what happened in the arena. Rex smiled and saw Ajax looking at chunks of the machine. He walked back and also saw Momo looking at him with her mouth wide open. He chuckled and closed her mouth. "Yeah, that happened a lot."

Momo snapped out of her thoughts and blushed. "Your quirk is powerful. Are you sure you are not hurt?"

"Yes, thanks for the concern but I am fine. I wanted to use full force but I guess that's enough." Rex said waving his hand.

"You mean that was not your full force?"

"Yeah, not gonna boast but my Smack Hands could absorb more pressure." Rex decided to talk a little about his quirk. Except for his family, no one has actually seen his quirk or any machines he had ever build.

Momo nodded and then decided to see the rest of the exam.

"This…"

"Yeah, his machines were similar to the mechanical giant. But the force he put was surreal. This batch is amazing. Sons of current and former number 2 heroes and Yaoyaorozo Heiress who could create anything." Nezu complimented.

'Young Midoriya, you need to work hard.' Toshinori thought.

"HE ROCKS!" Hizashi cheered.

They ignored him too and decided to watch the final combat exam.

"Let's see, how they dealt with the next test," Nezu said.

"Now on to the second course, it's called combat test. You have to fight the robot." Ajax said and a big robot around 8 meters rose under the ground. "You don't really have to destroy or defeat it, just show your overall combat abilities fight for 5 minutes. I am starting to call names." Ajax said and started to call the names.

"That's big," Momo said.

'That's what she said last night.' Rex chuckled hearing Momo's misunderstanding statements. "Yeah, very big."

"But it will be no problem for you."

"Neither for you."

Ajax then called Shoto Todoroki who froze the entire field then smirked at Rex but didn't know if Rex noticed him since he couldn't tell Rex's eye through his big glasses.

"He was looking at you… again." Momo said to Rex who was looking straight.

"Ignore him, I am straight."

"What do you mean?"

"…"

Rex thought Momo was a cute airhead in this aspect. 'Must protect.' He thought then decided to wait for his turn.

Ajax called Momo who used the same cannon to destroy the robot which she used in the power exam.

"Rex Kinzoku."

Rex nodded and walked towards Ajax but before he can say, Ajax, spoke, "Yes, you can destroy it and we won't charge."

"No, I wanted to ask if you have a bigger one."

"…"

"Okay jeez, no need to be so stiff, Ajax."

Rex shook his head and walked to the robot.

"Start!"

The robot moved and punched Rex. He smirked and dodged the punch with little movement with his hands in his coat pocket. Robot punch another time but this time Rex retracted his hand from his pocket, step his one leg back, and blocked the punch with his bare hands.

BOOM

Everyone was stunned when Rex stopped the punch but it didn't stop here, blue circuits were formed on the robot and with an explosion, the robot was destroyed into pieces.

"You were great, Rex," Ajax said praising Rex.

"Thank you, Ajax," Rex said and sat on his seat to wait for leave.

"That was amazing. You have two quirks?" Momo asked.

"Nope. It is a single one, a little complicated."

"Hmm, I want to ride you."

"…"

Rex was speechless. He wanted to teach this girl how to rephrase or many would misunderstand her in this society where people's brains were always in the gutter.

"This… I thought his quirk is making machines?" Toshinori was speechless along with the rest of the teacher in the observation room.

"He wrote his quirk name 'Nanoid'. It says that he produces microscopic machines called nanites in his blood. He manipulates them to make machines. It also grants him Technopathy but I think full information is not provided. Hmm, his quirk is a wonderful mixture of both of his parents' quirks." Nezu explained.

All the teachers gulped hearing this especially Aizawa. 'God if you exist, please don't let Rex use his ability to steal private information.' Aizawa prayed in his heart remembering when Yato unlock his phone and showed him embarrassing stuff to threat- convince Aizawa.
