36 Chapter 20

"Let's fly, you shit hole." Toya said as he gritted his teeth, using his flames on his feet and hand to propel him forward like a jet. The sudden speed made Muscular pause for a second as he used his muscles to augment his arms to block the attack.

But before closing in, Toya dragged himself to the ground, going beneath the villain. "Special Move: Inferno Nut-cracker.", using the flames beneth his feet, he boosted his kick-upwards towards the mid-section of the villain.

'Well, his quirk does fall into the transformation category…' the system mused.

And then the villain felt pain. A pain that was so primal that even evolution couldn't fix. He would have rolled his eyes in the back and lose his consciousness if not for the drug keeping him active. And pain turned into anger as the villain grabbed the fire-user by his arms, grabbing one of his arms.

Toya felt his arms squeeze as his tends and bones mended together. It was a miracle that his left arm was still attached. With his right arm forwards he grabbed the villain by his face, using the most destructive flames he could muster.

A loud boom occurred as even the air vibrated the heat. And then both bodies fell.

The only reason Toya could stand up, was because of the sudden level up. He quickly used all the 'status recovery' fixing any damages he had. Looking at his left arm, he was glad to see it was fine. The system wasn't kiding when it said the benefits of leveling up. It even recovered half of his health. But even by his standards it was reckless.

Then he looked at Muscular. The man was still breathing. It would be better to finish him off…

"Hey, you." A voice called out. Toya looked behind to see one of the fire hose heroes. The pro hero looked at Muscular, "You defeated him… You should get out of here."

That wasn't the response he was expecting.

"You aren't a pro-hero are you?" Gray said. Which made Toya stiff.

The hero nodded, a bandage over his head. He smiled, "Don't worry, medical staff will take care of the rest." He said looking at the bodies of guards and fallen heroes. Some of them were dead, while others were alive. "You did the right thing. But the pro hero Endeavour is coming here. You should run, he doesn't like Vigilantes that much."

That was bad. He was the last person he wanted to meet, right now. Well, off I go then. "Thanks for the help, then."

And with that Toya ran, not even looking behind.

Gray wanted to thank to man, but seeing him leave he couldn't help but smile. If only people acted this way, there wouldn't be need of heroes. He shook his head. Not every one has that kind of philosophy.

Sneaking into the his private hospital room wasn't the tough part. But getting caught by the nurse was.

With wide mouth, she pointed at him. "You were the one who took down the…" Toya quickly stepped in covering her mouth.

"Could you say that less loudly, please." The nurse nodded and Toya moved his hand away. He sighed as he sat on his bed.

"H-How are you completely fine. You had third degree burns and I saw the fight…" she said, looking at his arm in awe. "I thought your bones were fractured. He squeezed your arm didn't he."

So not only did she come here after he left. But she even saw the fight from the window. Just great.

"Well, I don't think I should say this… but could you keep this a secret." He said. "I think I awakened my second quirk after the accident. My mother had a regeneration quirk. So, after I woke up, my injurious started healing rapidly, even getting rid of my scars."

'Huh, like anyone would believe that.'

Toya really wanted to punch the system right now.

But the nurse surprisingly nodded. "Well, that would explain a lot." She said that with a serious face.

'T-That actually worked.' Toya thought.

"You work for the Hero Association anyway. So you might as well have been a hero. But explaining it Recovery girl would be a bit tough, she does have your appointment at night.."

'Hah, there is a reason why lying is a sin.'

Toya so wanted to punch the system. But it was right, he dug his own grave with that statement didn't he. 'I will have to come up with something.'

"Wait, how did you get out of this ward anyway." She said before her eyes went wide, and she looked at the window. "Y-You didn't jump from here did you?" It was the fifth floor. She didn't dare to voice the last words.

'Now, say you grow chicken wings from your step sister's side and see if it works.'

Toya opened his mouth, before biting his bottom lips. What kind of mess was he in now.
