Impressive Students

After having been threatened of getting expelled, it was now time for the tests.

The first trial was the 50-Meter Dash. To the astonishment of the others, I placed first, with a time of 1.38 seconds.

They were astonished because I was even faster than Iida who had a mobility-related Quirk, called [Engine].

Like its name implied, it granted him engine-liked protrusions on his calves that allowed him to move at extraordinary speeds and which also massively increased his kicking power.

Iida was also extremely surprised and a little bit dejected that he had lost to me, but soon composed himself and took me as motivation to become stronger.

Next was the trial for testing our grip strength. We received a hand-held device which could read the force our grip exhibited in kilograms.

Currently, Shoji was in first place with a grip strength of 540.0 kilograms due to him using his three arms.

Not that I was complaining, though. Because right after, while some were still praising his result, they suddenly heard a cracking sound right next to them.

The cracking sound came from me. I broke the device. When it came to physical strength, none of the current students could even come close to me.

Kaminari, Sero and Uraraka were standing next to me with their mouths wide open.

"Y-y-you broke the device!"

"A-Amazing!"

I just smiled wryly at them and looked towards Aizawa-sensei, and meekly asked, "Ehm.. I don't have to pay for this, right?"

He only looked at me for a second before lazily replying, "No."

"First place in the second trial is Jin. Next is the Standing Long Jump."

If destroying the device wasn't already enough, what I did next in this test left even Aizawa somewhat speechless.

Standing in front of the sandbox, I simply, slowly levitated off the ground and flew to the other side of the box.

While 'Levitation' wasn't really that rare per se, it was still astonishing for them to see that I was capable of this ability.

I had already shown overwhelming capabilities in various kinds of areas, so when they saw me even having the ability to fly, they couldn't help but be astonished. And even Bakugo frowned at this sight.

Anyway, after they had calmed back down, we quickly moved on.

The next trial was Repeated Side Steps, and I simply did the 'Saitama'. (A/N: Referring to Saitama from 'One Punch Man' in the fitness test.)

And even when I did it so fast that only several afterimages could be seen, the others didn't really react that strongly to it as to the previous ones, since they had already decided to not get so surprised by my abilities anymore.

And now it came back to Ball Throw again. I wasn't really obliged to do it once more, but I still did it. I just repeated what I had previously done and scored a little bit higher than in the demonstration.

Uraraka placed first with her score being infinity thanks to her Quirk [Zero Gravity].

It was now Midoriya's turn. All eyes were on him. His results in the previous trials were not that good, so he had step it up to not become last.

He was incredibly nervous and hesitant, but after a few seconds, he resolved and readied himself to throw the ball.

His right arm lit up in a vein-like pattern and he then threw the ball. However, at this exact moment, his Quirk was suddenly erased by Aizawa-sensei.

46 meters.

This was his score without his Quirk. Midoriya was clearly bewildered by what had happened.

"I erased your Quirk." Aizawa suddenly said.

"What??" Midoriya shouted out in confusion.

"The entrance exam was definitely not rational enough. How did somebody like you managed to enter this academy?"

"..."

"Y-you erased it? And those goggles! You are.. The Eraser Hero: Eraser Head! The hero who can cancel out the Quirk of whomever he's looking at!" Midoriya said in astonishment.

"Eraser Head? Never heard of him." the other students didn't really know who he was.

"He is an underground hero. He doesn't like the media or being in the spotlight, so he is rather low-key. But don't look down on him because of that. He is very strong." I cleared up their doubts.

"Really, how do you know that? How strong exactly?" Kaminari asked curiously.

I simply ignored him and continued to watch the scene playing out in front of us.

"From what I can tell, you can't control your Quirk, can you? Did you believe someone will save you after you crippled yourself again?"

"N-no, th-that wasn't my intent-"

"Even if it's not your intention, the people around you would be forced to save you. Although you have the same brute courage as 'that' person, all you'll manage to do is run around like a blockhead who needs saving himself. Midoriya Izuku. With your power, you can't become a hero."

Aizawa-sensei mercilessly judged Midoriya's potential. I must say, he was certainly ruthless and honest in stating his opinion.

The others might not know, but I knew very well that Midoriya wasn't really the one to completely blame for this. He had inherited One For All not too long ago, and it was crystal clear that he wouldn't be able to fully control his Quirk that fast.

Midoriya was far behind the others when it came to this aspect. Everyone here had had approximately ten years of time to slowly work on their control over their Quirks, whereas Midoriya hadn't had that kind of luxury at all.

Unfortunately, Aizawa-sensei wasn't aware of this information, so you also couldn't really blame him for his merciless words, considering his personality.

'I kinda feel bad for all the students who had completely disappointed him and got such similar remarks from him.' I thought to myself while looking at my teacher.

Midoriya was standing silently on the spot while tightly clenching his fists. He had a frustrated expression on his face at the moment. He was given two more tries for the ball throw, and he was currently thinking of what he could do in his current situation.

Although I already knew that he will succeed, but right now I felt kinda bad seeing him like this, so I decided to give him some encouraging words, "Midoriya!"

Hearing someone calling his name, he snapped out from his thoughts and turned his eyes towards me. Aizawa-sensei and the others also shifted their attention towards me.

"Relax. You can do it. Do the best you can do at this moment. Where there's a will, there's a way! Remember that." I gave him a slight smile and waited for him to come to a solution.

Naturally, these were some random bullshit motivational words I spoke out without thinking too much about it, but they seemed to be quite helpful to Midoriya, nonetheless.

Midoriya was still dazed by my words, but quickly came back to himself. He nodded at me and thanked me for my encouraging words.

He took a long deep breath and activated his Quirk again. His arm lit up once more, and then, he swung his arm out and threw the ball into the distance.

But this time, it was different.

I raised my brows at his actions, while Aizawa and All Might behind us had a surprised expression on their faces.

The ball flew into the distance, creating several shockwaves behind it. My classmates were also clearly taken aback by it, especially Bakugo who was extremely shocked that the seemingly Quirkless boy, he had always looked down upon, actually had a Quirk.

I must say, Midoriya came up with quite a good solution for his current predicament.

Since Midoriya couldn't fully control his power, yet, and also couldn't become completely incapacitated right after activating his Quirk once, he waited until the very last second and focused One For All at the tip of his finger instead of his whole arm, minimizing the damage while maximizing the power.

"Sensei.." Midoriya called out to Aizawa-sensei while clenching his right hand.

Aizawa took back his eyes from the distance measuring device, which was displaying the number '705.3' on it, and looked at Midoriya.

"I can still move!" said Midoriya with an intense will reflecting in his eyes.

"This kid..." Aizawa grinned broadly in astonishment at his fierce determination.

Damn! That was really epic. I mean, I had already seen this scene in the anime, but this was even better when you were actually personally present to experience it in reality.

As we were appreciating his actions, one person couldn't take it anymore and tried to attack him. Obviously, it was Bakugo who was extremely angry at him for seemingly having lied to him for being Quirkless.

Unfortunately for him, he failed since he was quickly being restrained by Aizawa-sensei, who then reprimanded him for his actions.

After this little spectacle, we continued on with the remaining tests, in which I had also placed at the top.

Though, sadly for Midoriya, he couldn't get any other noteworthy records while battling the pain. So, like in the original story, he came in last place.

He had a lifeless expression on his face, thinking that he would get expelled, until Aizawa suddenly dropped a bomb on them, "Oh, yeah, that whole 'expulsion' thing was a lie."

"It was a logical ruse to pull out your best performances." Aizawa grinningly said.

Midoriya, Uraraka and Iida immediately became shocked hearing that this was all a lie, to which Yaoyorozu commented that it was a matter of fact and they should've noticed it earlier.

Well, she was wrong, though. Aizawa-sensei had only changed his own rule at the last moment because he saw the potential in Midoriya, and thus decided to not expel him.

"A ruse, huh?" I silently mumbled to myself while grinning at Aizawa-sensei.

And although I said it in quite a low voice, he still heard it and looked at me for a long second before finally ending the first class and walking away.

When he was a certain distance away, he briefly turned around and at first looked at Midoriya before resting his gaze on me for a short period of time.

He thought to himself, 'This year, we really got some impressive students. I hope, they won't disappoint me.'
