13 Transfer

Today was the day…. The day where I tell Kacchan the truth about All For One. I have to do this, because he will eventually find out on his own. He is my rival and I don't want to lie to him.

I asked Kacchan to meet me at the river we used to play by when we were 4. Hmm… I wonder what's taking him so long.

"Deku!" I hear from the side. I turn and see Kacchan clenching his fists "So you want to fight or what? Why'd you call me out here."

"No I didn't Kacchan. I want to talk about my Quirk."

"You don't have a Quirk Deku. They said you were Quirk-less" he says with confusion.

"I do have one Kacchan, look…" I say activating a Full Cowling.

"Damn Deku, you have a Quirk" he says before pausing a bit before yelling out "Why did you never tell me? Were you looking down on me this whole time!?"

"Kacchan I was given this power."

"Yeah right!"

"Yes it's true, otherwise why would I put up with all the looks of pity from those around me!" I yell out before continuing "I want to be a Hero, Kacchan and nothing is going to stop me!"

"Fine! Who gave it to you?!" he demands.

"I will tell you, but you have to keep all of this secret…."

"Fine" he interrupts me in the middle before I can finish.

"And promise that this doesn't change anything between us!" I yell out with frustration at his impatience.

He gives me a look before answer "I plan on being number 1 Deku. I won't let you overtake me, nothing will change that Deku. Having a Quirk will just make it more satisfying when I win."

I laugh a bit before looking at him with determined eyes "Alright, It's All Might."

"Son of a bitch!" he says pissed.

"But… I can't handle 100% yet, my bones shatter" trying to dissolve his wrath.

He sighs before saying "Alright Deku, with or without a Quirk, I'll win. However….. don't fall behind me. If you aren't number 2... i'll kick your ass."

"Right back at you Kacchan" I say before raising my fist.

He looks back at me with determination before bumping fists with me. Kacchan and I chat for a while about what my Quirk does exactly before a noise interrupts us.

Bzzzt.... Bzzzt....

I go to check my phone and find that mom asked me to come home as soon as I could. She has something to talk to me about.

"Sorry Kacchan. I gotta go, mom wants to talk to me about something."

"Alright Deku, but we will have to duke it out soon. I wanna see how strong you are with that flashy power of yours."

"You got it!" I yell before running off to head home.

After running for some time I arrive home and open the door to go inside.

In the living room I find mom, Kaito Sensei and All Might in his weak form. They all turn to me before mom tells me "Have a seat honey."

"Okay mom" I say sitting down before asking "Why are Kaito Sensei and Toshinori here?"

"Well Izuku…. We were talking to your mom about your education" Kaito Sensei answers.

"My education?" I ask confused about what the problem could be.

"Yes, your education. All 3 of us have noticed how well you do in school" he starts before continuing "too well. We believe that you are wasting your potential with your current choice of schooling."

"How am I wasting it? I have the top grades in my year."

"Indeed young Izuku" All Might chimes in "Which is why we believe you need a school to match your genius intellect."

"Izuku, you shouldn't turn this down. You will be able to learn so much more than if you stayed at Aldera Junior High" Kaito sensei urges me.

I weigh the pros and cons of a transfer. Pros would have to include being able to get away from those who despite Kacchan's deterrence and my martial arts, still act like they are better than me. I would get a chance to make a fresh start which would be nice, and I'd be making better use of my intelligence.

Cons would be leaving Kacchan behind. I would also have to play catch up with the curriculum.

"You still haven't told me where I would be transferring to" I say a bit curious.

Noticing their silence I was about to say something until my mom chimes in saying "Tomomi Private Academy."

"Huh… isn't that a school catering to the rich?"

"While that's true Izuku, it also keeps an eye out for promising students to teach" Kaito Sensei says.

"How would be afford it, I don't want to go to school knowing it would cause issues with our financials" I state plainly.

"Well aren't you in luck then" All Might pulls out some forms and lays them down in front of me.

My eyes shoot open upon seeing what's on them "Scholarship application form…. Huh?"

"Yep. So with this, you would be able to attend school there without breaking the bank" All Might laughs a bit.

"I see….. How about this, if I can get the scholarship I'll go, otherwise I won't" I say providing a compromise.

"Anyway, we've done all we can here Toshinori, the rest is up to him" Kaito sensei says to All Might.

"You're right, good day you two. Let's go Kaito" Sensei responds before joining Sensei in leaving.

My mom walks them to the door and then says "Bye Toshi, bye Kaito."

Now I just have to tackle this head on, hmm I wonder….. I think to myself as I go through filling out the form. Later that day I mail it off and I wait for my response.

Several days pass and I find out that it wasn't a yes or no thing for the Scholarship. They wanted me to come and take a comprehensive test similar to their entrance exam.

I took the test on a scheduled day that I managed to get out of school for, after they knew the reason. They did mention that I'd be missed if I transfer to the new school, but that will depend on how well I do.

After I took the test, they had me wait in the principal's office while it was being graded. In the meantime I was questioned constantly about random things by the principal, who seems more than a little eccentric.

The vice-principal walks in to hand the principal the test results. Ultimately I was given a Scholarship on the condition that I maintain at least a 3.75 GPA. I agreed and they had my mom come and then they signed the transfer paperwork.

I told Kacchan that I'd be transferring schools and he was quite pissed about it. Later in the week the transfer notice was made.
