12 Quirk Registration

After breakfast the next day, and making sure that mom isn't doing anything important. I ask "Hey mom, still want to see my Quirk?"

"Yes Honey, it's safe to do it in here I hope" she says looking around the apartment for anything breakable.

"Well…. Mostly, I won't be actually using it and only activating it. Don't worry though, you will be able to tell when it's activated" I reassure her, while pushing One For All throughout my body.

Red Markings run up my body until they fade away to reveal green crackling electricity around me. I look over at my mom, only to see her crying with a smile on her face.

"Oh Izuku, I'm so happy you got your wish. What does your Quirk do?" she asks.

"Well…. It's better to see it than for me to explain about it. I also need to get my Quirk registered, so why don't I show you what I can do then."

"Alright, but….. You're kind of old for that…."

"Oh don't worry, Kaito Sensei should have an idea of what to do."

"Alright honey, why don't you give him a call?"

"I will mom" I say heading off into my room to make a conference call with Kaito Sensei and All Might.

Ring ring "Young Izuku, need anything?" All Might asks over the phone.

"Yeah All Might, are you free to talk for a while?"

"Yeah I am."

"Alright, I'm going to add Kaito Sensei to the call real quick as well" I set up the conference call and call Kaito Sensei, but... all I get is a busy signal.

"I guess he is busy, Izuku. So…. what's troubling you?"

"Oh right, I need to get my Quirk registered and usually they need to assess my Quirk for that to happen. The problem is that it usually happens when we are young and as we grow older we update as we learn more about our powers, but…."

"I see… how about this. I'll stop over later today and we will head over to U.A. to get your Quirk tested."

"Ah! But… my mom wanted to come with to see me in action….."

"Hmm… that complicates things a bit, but don't worry just say I'm a friend of Kaito's and that I'm a U.A. faculty member he knows."

"Alright, I will. Bye All Might."

"When I see you, call me Toshinori."

"Okay, bye Toshinori."

"Bye Izuku."

I hand up the phone call with All Might and head out into the living room looking for mom. It looks like she went out for a bit, but she will be back later.

Sigh… I guess all I can do is wait.

Hours later mom returns home with All Might?!?!

"Izuku, i'm home."

"Hi mom, I see you met Toshinori" I say looking at All Might.

"Yeah, he's a really nice guy to help with your Quirk registration."

"It's no problem Mrs. Midoriya. We at U.A. high school go beyond for our prospective students. Kaito mentioned that his Quirk manifested late, which was quite odd…"

"I'm glad he has his Quirk. When I was told he wouldn't get one I thought he'd break, but you know what? Next thing I know, he says he wants to start learning martial arts."

All Might looks concerned at the first half but then laughs "Ahhhhhh he seems like a kid with a good head on his shoulders…"

"Yeah Izuku has been constantly getting A's in school, but anyway you mentioned you set up a test for my son."

"That I did Mrs. Midoriya…"

"Please, Toshinori, call me Inko."

"Alright, anyway, why don't we head over to U.A."

"Let's go!" I say with some energy as we leave our apartment.

Several train rides later and minutes of walking and we are just outside U.A. All Might leans close to me and says "Don't worry about talking to Kaito about this, we got our stories in line."

I nod in response and then he says aloud "Now wait here for a second and let me see if the principal is around."

A few minutes later he comes back with the U.A. Principal and they let us onto campus. All Might takes the lead and heads off to one of the training grounds on campus, while we make idle conversation.

"Hey Cementoss, glad you could make it."

"Toshinori….. Is this the young man that needs his Quirk assessed?"

"Yep, his name is Izuku Midoriya and this is his mother Inko" he introduces while pointing to us.

"It's a pleasure to meet you and thanks for your help" both me and mom both greet and thank him, although mom's a bit nervous.

"It's not a problem, Toshinori does a lot for the people and he asked for a favor. I decided that it was easy enough to do, now why don't we get started" he says as he slams his hands down and afterwards many different things start forming off the ground.

"Wow there's an obstacle course, some target dummies, a maze and a few more things" I say marveling the incredibly fast speed of Cementoss's Quirk.

"Alright Izuku, go ahead" All Might urges me on.

"Alright…. Mom, watch me. I'll make you proud" I say activating Full Cowling.

"I already am, honey."

I nod at her and then take off towards the obstacle course first. I seem to have adjusted more than I thought, I'm already running at 10%.

I fly over the hurdles as I run down the course and see the path ahead blocked by interconnecting beams leaving only 2 feet or so to crawl underneath. I decide to slide to save time and make it almost the entire distance before crawling the last few feet.

Next I encounter a rock wall the I'm meant to climb and I grab onto a spot and fling myself up continuously until I make it all the way to the top and continue running.

After that I encounter a set of pits with great distances separating them, with the only thing connecting them a long thing walkway about half a foot in width.

Going full sprint I jump off at the edge and make it to one of the platforms, but then I had to run along the narrow pathways.

Luckily my training helped greatly with my balance, so I didn't slip up and I managed to finish the course.

"Good job, Young Izuku."

"Thanks, Toshinori" I say before running off and completing the maze, before turning my attention to the target dummies.

I run over to them and throw punches and kicks, which causes them to blow up.

Cementoss creates a variety of target sizes and even has them start moving towards me to attack.

I dodge and counterattack where I can until they stop coming.

"Alright, alright. That's enough" Cementoss yells out and slams he hands down to fix the landscape.

"Well done young man, I think we got almost all the info we need. Except… what should we call it?" Cementoss asks.

I perk up and say "How about, Kinectic Force."

"Hmmm, playing off the the fact that you apply force through your body as it moves to let you accomplish great things…. Pretty good, why not."

"One thing, cementoss. I can apply at least 10 times more force, but it shatters my bones if my body can't take the force.

"I see…. Not necessary to add, but good to know where you stand young man. Anyway I will go draw up the paperwork for submission, have a good night."

"Bye Cementoss!" I yell out as he leaves.

"Alright Toshinori, why don't you escort our guests home."

"Yes nezu sir."

So we head back the same way we came in and arrive too late for a proper lunch so mom orders some takeout.

"Toshinori?" I try to get his attention.

"Yes, young Izuku?"

"Can I tell Kacchan about your Quirk?"

"Why?" he asks looking at me sharply.

"He is my childhood friend and rival, I owe it to him. Besides he will figure it out, eventually…."

"Alright… if you're sure… you can tell him, but make sure the two of you are alone" he stressed the 'alone' part.

"Alright, thanks All Might" I say relieved.

"Anyway kid, head inside I'll see you later."

"Bye!" I yell out before heading inside hoping that mom ordered pizza.
